“This is their OLD Yamaha M7CL mixer”. Hahaha bro, we are still saving up to buy an M7CL.

We managed to find our rig used for less than our SQ6, and I cannot state how much more we are loving it! (Especially with the new mixmirror app - not having that was the main thing we were missing)

Wish there were prices and links to equipment used. This is way too expensive for most small churches.

From what I have researched a simpler system would be a DLive and have higher channel counts.

Or midas m32 c or midas m32 r for small church will be great

I don’t think people realise how little money small churches have.
A DLive or an MR32 are still too expensive and is overkill for small churches.

First off, it may be too expensive for some churches. If that’s the case, there is nothing wrong with it. I can’t afford a Ferrari, but that doesn’t make it bad or wrong for those who can.
Secondly, in this small thread, I think defining “small church” is important. M32/x32 is not expensive for most small churches. My evidence is that A LOT of churches have them.

@@HarrisonSD03i agree with you. For the cost m32/x32 bang for you buck is hard to beat with one of those options. And you are right lots of church’s have them. Just in reference to this video and the waves lv1 imo you would get more for your money with a Dlive C class. Unless you really dont need the channel count.

Don’t forget about the IPad app. This is the best 64 channel console in the world.

Very cool - I couldn't tell, but are the tactile controls motorized (so they jump to whatever their value is when switching pages) or not? Really think this is a great solution.

We’ve been using Waves Superrack for a year and a half at our church and have been wondering when other churches were going to start realizing that Waves is the way to go.

Ultimately - budgets, staff/volunteer levels, perceived "risk" of going to a software-style solution, breaking old habits. Give me an LV-1 any day. But getting my church team to leave the X32 and spend the money for new things - hard sell. If I bought it for the church, I have a small feeling that it would not be accepted. (We just did 1000 through 3 services - looking good for congregation size, but tech is a little dated). I would honestly like a new stereo PA, more SUBs, new FoH mixer and an A2 to mix broadcast in real time in a sound-treated room with a DAW and mixing skills for broadcast quality. Can I manifest all that? Who knows. :)

Hey, can you explain to me why you’re using dca to mix and instead of using the groups ?

Could you give a quick description of how you are handling broadcast?

    • @Churchfront

Instrument and vocal busses are sent to a separate matrix for the live stream

Was the past-weekend mixed on this? If so - sounds pretty good but have a good listen and I am sure the mix will be gaining and evolving over time. One thing I notice is not much panning, much of it centered and "mono-ish". Drums need some energy and violin boosting for online. Good luck and this system should have the power to really bring out a lot of goodness in the mix. Mix with the richness and stereo spread an online listener will crave.

    • @jonclark3421
      @jonclark3421 Před 7 měsíci

Yes it was. We haven’t messed with panning very much YET. Violin has been sticking out like a sore thumb lately so we send it to broadcast outside of a group so we can have control. We are training volunteers and still getting a grasp on the system so yes it will evolve over time.

This is nice but not very portable if you need to travel/switch venues for conference hosting, etc. I also wish you gave a ball park figure for the equipment cost of this setup. Not sure why you're leaving that out as most us want to cross shop this solution vs traditional digital consoles.

All of the list price is on waves website as well. But dealers can help package cost to save $$
