    How would you keep the rain out of there? I restore horse trailers into bars/ concessions and keeping water out of those trailers is difficult. Any homemade awning/windows made like this one will leak profusely! And the back door too. All that stuff needs to be metal fabricated with heavy weather stripping. I’m sure the owner of this trailer is a good guy. He did beautiful work. I just know these boogers really like to leak.

      @carriagehousetrailers  Před 7 měsíci +1

      As you mentioned, they are horse trailers and are not designed to be weather tight. It will likely leak some in a downpour. That’s why it’s best to store them inside or at least covered.

    Your videos are awesome and they're a big help as i am converting 1 myself, so thank you! What size struts are you using for the side windows?

    • @carriagehousetrailers
      @carriagehousetrailers  Před rokem

      That’s awesome! Thanks for the feedback! I usually use 15” gas struts. I think these were 65lb lifting capacity. Plenty of strength to keep the door open.

      The low profile roof vent is here.

      The window trim I almost always refurbish the old trim with a cup brush on my angle grinder. However, new trim I get from
      www.horsetraileraccessorystore.com/
      The diamond tread aluminum I get from metal supermarkets. They cut to size so you don’t have to buy a whole sheet. I hope that helps.
