- Watch a rusty old horse trailer being stripped back and rebuilt and turned into our beautiful mobile gin bar.
We started the conversion project in September 2021 and decided from the outset that we’d do everything to as high a standard as possible. That meant completely gutting the trailer, stripping back to bare metal and rebuilding to our exact specification. Like most things we do, we were keen to do it ourselves wherever possible.
It's first outing was Jubilee Weekend Jun 3rd 2022! It’ll make our lives much easier at events and we think it looks fantastic. We’ll also be using it for private parties, weddings etc so get in touch if you're interested by emailing hello@villagespiritcollective.com - Jak na to + styl
I love this so much..... This just inspired me to do the same w my baking business ❤ thank you
Looks amazing ! Great job
Nice job ❤
I'd like to have seen a long version. It's very hard to watch a music video
Love this! Could you share a step by step of how the foldable bar to was made?
Glued two pieces of 18mm plywood together to get the thickness, cut to size and routed out the rebates for the SOSS hinges. Finished with lots of layers of stain/poly/white spirit mix.
Dope
Hi, how are you fixing the framework for the walls to the actual trailer?
Wow
amazing job where do you get all the water bits from ?
I liked those wheel center caps , did you bought them separate? What’s are they called?
Sand blasting would have take care of the majority of the paint and rust removal. Great job
Yes but quotes were ridiculous
Great job! How did you attach your wooden battens to the metal skin of the trailer? Did you bolt the uprights to the metal and use joins on the horizontals?
Yes - like building a stud wall. Coach screws through the steel ribs to secure uprights then pocket hole horizontal braces
That’s amazing. I’m planning on doing the same thing. Can you recommend any resources?
I watched ever single trailer conversion video on YT and picked some of the best ideas! Anything specific you wanted to know?
@@iancox9765 many questions. What’s the best way to communicate directly? Email?
@@Terry-bu3sk Yes - email is best.
How do you get power to your trailer? Just through a generation?
What is the name of the sales flap on the side that can be opened upwards? where can i buy a flap like this? Thanks in advance
What is the name of the hardware you used for your folded bar top?
Looks brilliant. Can I ask what equipment you used to spray it?
Thanks. LVLP spray gun powered by small Hitachi compressor
Can i ask how long does it take to made it ? how many working hours?
I'm building a trailer also what are those hinges called that you used for the bar top I'd like to do the same way
Hi Bill. They´re called SOSS hinges. Unbranded replicas are available on Ebay. You can put together a basic router jig or get a very experienced woorworking friend to do it freehand (like I did). Good luck,
What is the name of the flap thing you put on the hole you cut out of the trailer
You mean the hook-up?
was that simple aluminum foil on the walls?
Search “multi foil insulation”
@@iancox9765awsome thanks! :D
Will you be interested in building another? $$$
Hi Connor - it was a labour of love and a one-off I'm afraid. If you're half competent at DIY and have some helpful friends then just go for it! All the best.
