      Don't get your perception of birth from media. Women experience a wide variety of different births. Some women do have virtually painless births.
      Also, the baby exciting the cervix is not what causes the primary pain. Most of the pain is from the uterine contractions.
      The cervix is designed to stretch to accommodate the baby's head.
