My family brought up our family with all those qualities and more. I looked for a man that we could grow together. He didn’t have to have all those things, but together we could obtain them.
This is one of the best advice I've heard in a while. No B.S., No sugar coat, just amazing advice. I needed to hear this, because I do have to work on myself to have a successful relationship. I've been following Michael and Gillian for years, I'm so happy you guys started a Podcast together, please keep it going.

I think this is a good topic. Both men and women are dealing with past trauma and can benefit from this message. Allowing past experiences to be a barrier to future opportunities is something most people tend to do. The knife of heartbreak cuts deep and certainly leaves scars. I've been a fan of y'all's relationship dynamic for a while. Thanks for sharing and recommending we confront uncomfortable truths.

Black American relationships aren't as general. There have been so many atrocities with Black Americans the list is exhausting. As someone that seems like I will be single for the rest of my life, i can feel this. I know that I am not perfect and in fact far from it. With what you said that needs to be brought to the table is something I do all the time in a relationship. I may mess up by bringing too much it seems. But, yeah... especially in the LA area for sure. The advice you gave is well said. I am working on my self work right now to improve my broke as$ for the best. Can't wait to see what is next...

The intangibles are appreciated more at the end of day and meshing it to a safety net for both but also provide a barrier that no outside forces can shake the foundation. Love is the key in a relationship. Team work is something that a lot of people do not think about in a marriage. Real talk 🙏🏾 I had too sit down and show my Wife this video. Well...... she still Do NoT understanding what's going on in this video no not at all. We just now coming up on our 1year mark just days away. And right now I believe someone at her Job keep Braggin too her about their husband so that gets her upset at Me . I'm not 100% sure of what is going on at her Job yet. But I do know she comes back home with a different energy then when she left for work.
