    I have seen elsewhere that Gandalf's becoming naked, wandering beyond thought and time, is not a reference to the strange ways under the mountain but to his becoming bodiless, entering a different mode of being, and returning to the spiritual abode of Eru being before he is given another form and task as the White Wizard.

    I wonder if Tolkien studied the Cabalistic traditions has the nameless things vaguely resemble the Qliphoth from Jewish mysticism.

    You could show real art by actual artists that has been done on tolkien's work for decades instead of the terrible ai abominations that were no doubt trained off those artists work 😢
