- Everyone has heard of the Willy Wonka Scam event in Glasgow last weekend, but I wanted to take a more comprehensive look. I take a look at both the logistics behind the event and the man who organized it, as well as analyzing the bizarre AI-generated script provided to all of the actresses and actors. On it's surface Willy's Chocolate Experience is exceptionally funny, but there's more than meets the eye.

Making this even more funny, apparently about halfway through the organiser thought the queues were getting too long, and had "Willy McDuff" move into one of the areas to just interact with groups at random rather than leading them through the event. But he didn't bother telling The Unknown what to do instead, so now she (it was an actress) was jumping out and scaring kids in the middle of the Twilight Tunnel without any context and for some of them as the first interaction with actors they had at the event!

That’s what I thought! It looks like the props cobbled together for a themed Holiday Bible Club 😂 which would be fine if that’s what it was because HBC’s are free 😅

Tho ngl I like to think the Unknown is a demon who just waltzed into the event. The actor/actress just thinks they played the Unknown.

So if you wanna do some funny stuff messing with the original brand then you will get in trouble but if you mispell every copyrighted word than you are fine
I bet there are going to be some Unknowns this Halloween, that's a costume that could be made very cheaply.

It might be outdated now, but "birds" at one point was slang in some parts of Britain for "pretty girls". Or, at least that's what consuming various UK media over the years would have me understand. So there's an answer for you on what that joke might have actually been going for.

In Glasgow at least it's still used. Doesn't mean pretty girl ,it just means woman. We pronounce it more like "Burd"(in Glasgow).

Bruh, I've generated better stories with Novel AI. Of course, I also use Grammerly to fix typos and manually edit things to make sense. But he couldn't even be bothered to do that.

2005 movie was not a remake of the original movie (which was, in fact, just a commercial to promote quakers Wonka bars) it was another adaptation of the book (and was way closer to the book compared to the first movie).

Yeah over the years (didn’t really talk about it in the video but I’m a huggggeee fan of the original movie) I have given thought to that. Because on the one hand, in basically every way besides the SFX, the 1971 movie is superior to the 2005 one. Better acting, better Oompa Loompas, better script, better songs. But the very dark vision of the 2005 film is absolutely more faithful to Dahl’s original work. In my view, the 1971 film represents a very rare example where a source material is adapted somewhat inaccurately and the end product is better than the original version. I can see the opposing argument to that as well though.

Every themed event for children I've been to has been about as disappointing, but they were at least priced proportionally.

Honestly if he lowered the price to like 10$, kids or adults got in free and there was more candy no body would've cared. I've helped out with church events that looked way worse than this that people loved going to because there was enough there to make kids happy.
Yep, thought the same thing many times when making this video. There’s a whole different set of expectations for an event with a $10 ticket vs $20 vs $44.

I think the bird thing is about how birds spread spicy plants around because they can’t process capsaicin, so they eat the seeds of things like peppers and “distribute” them while theyre flying around

The 2005 version was more closer to the original source material so that's why its feel weird and off for fans of the original like you. While the original took more liberty and change alot of things to make it more lighthearted.

Those poor kids. This reminds me of the community events we would have when I was a kid. I grew up in a very rural area. The people meant well, but they were so depressing to go to. But it was understandable since it was free and mostly volunteer run. This on the other hand is just a sick scam

I said in another video that I don't think the script is AI-generated. I think it's somebody's Wonka fanfic. Hence why the guests have pre-scripted lines and reactions. And then the names were changed to make it an 'original' product, a la 'Fifty Shades'.
I’ve been to parties that have done more for kids having chocolate foundations, sweet carts. Even going to Costco or another wholesale store and bulk buying sweets, chocolate and drinks for the children would have been better.

Literally all they had to do was make an experience with chocolate. You could cheaply have just had one stage and a bunch of chairs. A Willy wonka actor and an Oompa Loompa and have the show teach kids about chocolate and then have them make their own chocolate bar. As for the unknown you could repurpose that into a villain that tries to sabotage or steal their chocolate creations only to be stopped at the last second. The kids chocolate creations are saved and the kids get to take it home. If you need a drink you could do instead of just regular lemonade something more creative like the rarer orange aid or why not make it berry lemonades or at the very least if your going all in on chocolate make it hot chocolate and call it idk chocolate from the chocolate river.
Well at least it didn't have a ballpit that may or may not have piss in it.
