He injured/bruised his heel at the Ritz 1991 show, jumping around and landing hard on the concrete with no cushioning in his boots. He talks about it in a 91 interview w Kurt Loder.
Axl is a legend. Axl is so much happier & calmer than he has ever been. While none of us actually know how Axl thinks of his life, I doubt that he would want to go back to being angry, having issues (both personally & band wise). If you are asking vocals wise, I do not think he has anything to prove, and I still love his vocals (I saw GnR live in concert in 2023, and it was amazing!) :)
@@kerenolivero7097 I think he would want to go back when is voice was in better condition than these days. He complained often about his throat bothering him from smoking then he has surgery done on his throat... so I think he would probably choose to back in that era

It's just that the band broke up so that's why nobody likes Chinese democracy because it's not the original lineup but his voice was killer then probably better than this. And in 2016 when he sang for AC DC he was spot on I think it is there that he really lost it during the AC DC tour
