    In my opinion pricing a services or even goods is always base on quality. It is what people thinks every time they bough something or ask for services. But great video though!

    I factor in terrain,a flat,no trees,no flower beds,no nothing will not take as much time and is easier to mow. A place like this you can steam roll it.
    vs
    a property that's sitting on a Mt.side and has tons of flower beds,swingsets,trampoline,ect.This is where the price goes way up.

    We price by eyeballing it. Been in the business long enough that we can do that BUT it's not duplicatable for an estimator who is inexperienced. ;)

    If you want to make good money just do what I do wend I look at a property I look for the lawn side and how much blowing I have to do for example a property of 60x 100 in long islang will take me with one worker to do the work 15 to 20 minutes and I charge $25 if the property is a little bigger I charge more now for the shrub trimming I charge $100 per hour so wend you look at the property think how long it will take you to trimm the shrubs for the chemicals I charge $40 and up now if you do the math you will make alot of money don't worry about getting big wend I start my landscaping business 20 years ago I start with 20 house a week and I was doing them by my self and I was home by 1 o'clock and I was making $70,000 a year not bad for a part time job just remember if you keep your over head expenses low you will make good money the videos are good to give you ideas but each state is different .

    me and my dad cut together, we would charge how long it will take us to do the property and to what grade of job the customer wants.. perfection caust money is what i say.. half acre is alot of yard thats in the 85 to 100 dollar rang.. we also have custumors that cut every ten days and every 14 days, that pricing if def. and should caust more because of the extra time it will take to make the property look well,,, lumpy grass etc..

  • @MrDavidelliottjr
    @MrDavidelliottjr Před 11 lety

    me and my dad have been doing this for years .. when u do an estament just look at how long u thinnk it will take to cut it and clean up and what u would charge an hour. say 65 bucks an hour.. relising you are a mobile service that actually goes to these peoples property and complete the work. that caust money of course people will complain that a price is to high but after they realise whats intailed you will get the job done and with better payment.. we have a 25 MUNIMUM FOR TRAILOR LOTS ..

    Sounds cheap to me, but I don't cut grass anymore for that reason! Homeowners are cheap as dirt today!

    you should have started by stating this is a formula for employees to go out and do your estimating for you.

      Telling your employees how to price property is a big no no. You'd be a fool to tell every employee you have how to price.

    $35 sounds really low for 1/2 acre. also, it's really dangerous to compete on price. as your business grows there will not be enough money to pay people, insurance, new equipment, etc. i would price at market rate or higher and win the business based on quality and service. the alternative doesn't leave enough money on the table to build a good business that makes much money.

      @freedomrings4134 Před 5 lety

      Man looking back at 6 years of comments and I'm seeing why only a few people make it big. So many people fail to see that this business will kill your body if you dont charge enough to grow you're business so you can get out of the field. You have to make enough money to grow, not get enough jobs to have a job. I've been taking notes.

    I live in Central Jersey and pay $570/year ($57/mo x 10 payments.) This is very fair for a 100x100 ft property. it gets cut, edged and blown in all areas. it takes my guy 15-20 minutes. You have to price per the area and what other guys in the neighborhood charge. This video guy is full of beans and wasting our time with bidding. It takes 3-5 minutes to price the yard. The neighbors talk and will ask for the same discounts the other neighbors get. Ignore what this guy is saying.
