Great rig and good company brand, "sisters" of Arctic fox/Northwood manufacturing company.
The wife and i, along with our 3 large 4 legged companions, bacame fulltime rvr's back in January 2018 (and counting) with our new 2017 Outdoors RV 25RDS titanium series (almost similar to yours) and paired it with our 2017 ford f350 diesel. We took it all over mainly off road, unpaved roads, and beaten paths as we like boondocking (we are not much of a campground setting souls) and it has held well on our upcoming 5 years anniversary on the road. Never been to a shop or service as i do all that on the road and all major components are quality made.
We are now ready to upgrade to a 5th wheel toy hauler to bring some toys and gears on the road and more space as we feel outgrown this rig we currently have.
    Cheers from the Nevada desert!

      Good evening,
Thank you for watching and your comments.
Wow five years is a long time - great to hear that your unit is holding up well. ORV does make a great unit.
We only have one large and one medium size dog with us and our trailer gets small very fast.
Must seem very full with three in yours at times 😊
What manufacturer are you thinking about for your toy hauler?
We are delayed in our trip to the south with some truck repairs and maintenance.
Hopefully we cross the boarder next week. We are looking forward to capturing some great memories down in your beautiful country over the next four plus months.
We have several upgrade videos pending with more coming soon on our ORV.
      Have a great weekend
      Curtis

@@nextchapterstartsnow Thank you for your reply, sorry for the late response, but later is better than never😉.
We are in the process of continuing our journey on the road with a Momentum toy hauler from Grand design in the 43 feet length for more room and weight capacity for our machines and gears on the road. We since lost two of our 4 legged companions during our 5 years travels and we now only have one who will be the guard of the rig🐕😃.
Congratulations on your journey! Safe travels and happy trails...Cheers from the Nevada desert!

Great job on the video, appreciate your candid viewpoints on your rv. Just the two of us and our two dogs so your tour was informative to our needs. The addition of the dehumidifier makes perfect sense which leads to me asking have you spent much time cold weather camping? And if so...were you able to stay pretty comfortable in this trailer? Thanks for taking the time to show your video!

      Good afternoon,
Thank you for watching and your comments.
We are glad you found it informative.
How do you find the RV life with your two dogs?
We have spent one full winter in Canada in the trailer and two months last year.
The trailer stays warm with only one issue in our unit. The suction line from the fresh water tank to the pump will freeze when it drops below -18 C or 0 F, if we skirt the backend of the trailer then we don't have any issues with it.
Other than that it does well for an RV in the winter.
if you have not already -- please consider subscribing to the channel as we have some upgrades pending and will make some changes to the unit to handle the cold a little better.
      Travel safe and enjoy
      Cheers,
      Curtis and Debbie

@nextchapterstartsnow Good afternoon to you as well, I appreciate your reply as well the information and content that you provide. The dogs... aside from constantly wanting out and then the much needed bathroom trips and not to mention dog hair, let's just they're happily part of the package. The reason for the cold weather question is because we may have to spend a winter season in a tt and although outdoors/artic fox are renowned for construction/insulation, there is nothing like hearing from someone that has experienced it.
Look forward to following your journey!

Hello fellow Canadians! Great to see you on the tube! We too, bought one of those ORV, a 24RLS Anniversary in 2020 (first covid wave) in BC - drove to and back from Quebec city...just to tell you how much we wanted one! haha! We love ours, and made a few mods as well, so it's easier to use on the road, AND bought a Diesel 3500 series truck to "ease the trailering" a bit - cause they are heavy those ORV TT!!! A sign of how well they are put together? Maybe. We will see! We too are planning extended trips in the near future - ORV are great for its large tanks and great comfort. All the best in your aventures. New followers in Qc city!

      @nextchapterstartsnow  Před rokem +1

Hi Kirby, thank you for watching! We deleted the Zamp controller when we ordered the trailer as we knew we would be going with a larger GoPower solar system. Curtis says there’s usually a lot of cable slack for that controller and should be fairly easy to move. ORV makes such a good product :)

Thank you!, great job. we have the 25RDS, no bedroom slide. that extra foot at the end of the bed makes a big difference. the drawer dividers and bathroom towel rack are now in my amazon cart! did you get solar ? My controller is in the middle of the shelves above the bed. I like the idea of removing the doors but would have to relocate that gizmo.

      Good morning,
Thank you for watching and your comment.
We were pulling it with a 2015 6.2 liter gas, but the truck was just too underpowered for this trailer with our roads here in BC.
We now pull it with a 2016 F350 diesel or my new work truck in the summer a 2023 High Output diesel F350.
If your roads are flat the gas may be okay, but once you pull these trailers with a diesel, you would never go back to gas 🤔👍😎

Drawer fronts are now solid wood as well, starting with the 2023 model. Small comfort for you two, obviously, but at least it shows that ORV is listening to their customers on that issue. That said, crappy cabinetry in towables (and most motorized as well) is just something to be expected, except for Airstream and, as you mentioned, Luxe, DRV, maybe Vanleigh's highest tier, etc. Even in the higher end stuff like GD Solitude, Alliance Paradigm, and Jayco Pinnacle, the doors are nice but the innards are crap. Kind of makes me wonder how many people ended up buying an Airstream when they might not have spent that kind of $$ otherwise just based on cabinetry and a few other fit and finish issues.
I have never personally been in an ORV. Are the drawer and cabinet bottoms at least solid (as in, you cannot push them up easily with one finger)?

    • @nextchapterstartsnow
      @nextchapterstartsnow  Před rokem +1

      Good evening,
Thank you for watching and your comments. That is good to hear that the drawer fronts have been upgraded. Cupboards are made okay, the problem for us now after many miles traveling as snow birds now is that those beautiful door are heavy and those screws are going into crap that is more like paper.
So the screws come loose and/or strip out. So lots of maintenance to keep it together. But that as you mentioned is part of the ownership of having an RV that moves down the highway. Compared to my old Fleetwood, the cupboards are better.

Should have got the 280RKS / KVS It is only 2 feet more. You can't come from a home and expect the same. ODRV does an excellent job compared to most. I see people in Newmars Tiffins complain about the cost of $500,000 - $1000,000 and then oh is me an RV is never going to be 2500 sqft or better house end of the story.

We are looking at this model Rv. We want to upgrade the mattress. I was wondering if the slide in the bedroom comes in over the bed? I want to get a 10” mattress but I want to be sure it’s not too high. Thank you! I love your Rv.

    • @nextchapterstartsnow
      @nextchapterstartsnow  Před rokem

      Good afternoon,
The slide does come over the bed - it is a tight fit over top, in fact you need to pull back your bedding for it to clear (we just pull it back some and leave the bottom sheet on without any issues).
We have the Titanium package that does come with the upgraded mattress.
I find it that it is good, however, my wife Debbie finds it very hot and does not care for it at all.

@@nextchapterstartsnow Glad to hear it is holding up well. All the slides on the new 250 RDS are schwintec slides, which gives me pause considering the potential weight on the slide. They made some improvements, but in my mind, took a step back by adding the schwintec slide. I asked ORV about the new slide and was told that, because the gear is now metal instead of plastic, they feel it will perform better. I consider ORV to be one of the better made trailers, but time will tell if there are slide issues on the new ones.

Interesting- you wonder why they would make a change from the 2022 models. I am just glad ours are working out well.
We moved our pantry on one of our upgrades, we were glad to get the weight off that one side. Never liked all that weight in the slide.
Good luck with your search and let us know what you end up getting.

@@nextchapterstartsnow Smart move reducing the weight on the slide. We put a deposit on an Alliance Delta 252RL that has to get hauled here. Composite flooring, walls & ceiling. It has a rear dinette, not as nice as yours though, 2 AC's, 50 amp but can run both AC's on 30 amp, 30 BTU furnace, warrantied for full time living (as far as RV warranties go), fireplace and reclining sofa. Alliance is a shoot off on Grand Design after they were acquired by Winnebago. The owners created Alliance and Brinkley. It's light weight and not the quality as an Outdoors, but no where near the price either. We (Me) really want an Outdoors, but can't find a 250 RDST a reasonable distance away. It has a 6295 dry weight & 8250 lb GVWR with a 632 hitch weight. Our 24 7.3 F350 SD shouldn't have an issue. I love that truck!
