#gladiator #movies #hollywood - Zábava
There shouldn't be a sequel to Gladiator anyway. 🎉
Took the words right 👉 out of my mouth 👄
There is no sequel. It ended 24 years ago.
It's simple - you don't have to see it as a sequel to Gladiator. They just named it G2 to sell it better, because Ridley's movies lately don't make a nice $.
This applies to so many movies - The Matrix, The Crow, etc.
Mmmm.. there was room for a sequel/prequel 15-20 years ago. I would definitely never make this movie today in current Hollyweird. And Ridley.. just seems dead set on ruining all his best IP’s.
Pedro Pascal is the largest of their problems. Half the country doesn't like him. All his doing.
So, incredibly stupid, out of touch casting there.
I thought he was loved, I learn something.
@@tibsky1396same, don’t know why , i like him a lot but i do admit that his recent roles don’t fit him, mr fantastic for example , great actor, horrible casting, same here.
The biggest problem is not the cast (though is not the best). At the end of the day, Pedro is just playing the character the producers want. A bigger problem is the ambient, the vibe of the movie and probably the script. The OG gladiator was a somewhat somber, serious, historical epic. The new Gladiator(2) is giving out Black Panther/"Wakanda" vibes. Ridiculous.
OG movie was mostly about Maximus journey. Now it seems it will be centered around fighting slavery, fighting the "power", etc. And that in turn will push a lot more fiction.
@@adrianzambranoleon1889 almost all the negative flak comes from his Twitter comments not his acting
Such a stupid movie, lololololol. Did all of the adults leave Hollywood?
Rap music because there"s a black character in a roman setting. How "progressive".
Exactly like the BBC samurai in assasins creed shadows. He's fighting then hip hop music starts playing. Leftoids are so racist they see nothing wrong with stereotyping while calling people ra ist for saying they doing offensive sh*t.

Pretty heavy handed marketing that is patronizing and see through

As a black man I don't consider this garbage music today "rap" its all just trash noise. There is no such thing as genres anymore sadly.
We all know why they are saying this, they're trying to use Denzel as a diversity shield to deflect criticism over a movie that didn't need to exist.
Because they KNOW that Washington is a beloved actor. Saying that people are racists against him is their jumping the shark moment.

Exactly. He despises this diversity garbage.
He also doesn't vocalize his political views and has gone on record as saying "you can't legislate good will and tolerance".

Whoever convinced denzel this movie was a good idea should be fired as fast as possible...
Half of the show runners and movie directors would have been blacklisted from the industry during the 1970s. NOT because of their physical characteristics, but because they are so horribly incompetent.
Totally agree. Denzel is a fine actor, but I don't think he should've took the part. My guess is he also thought his casting didn't fit with the movie, but once he saw how much cash was on the table he was in.
@russellplatt1106 Easy money for Denzel, he knows this isnt going to win Oscar's. Hes at the point in his career he can choose whatever he wants, and his son is also acting now. More presents for the family during Christmas.

Agreed. If the movie gets any following, it will be due to him carrying the rest of the worthless actors in this movie.
Yep. Love Denzel. Hate lazy, cash-grab sequels to decades old properties. Hate shitty modern music in historical epics where it doesn't belong. Tired of seeing Pedro Pascal in literally everything.
He is a coach in this movie and technically that's the best thing for his character slot per the time period and location.

Underrated comment
The character that Denzel portrays in the movie, Macrinus, is a historical character and newsflash, he's not black. He later became a Roman Emperor. He served under Emperor Caracalla, which is the emperor you see in the movie and became emperor after him. There are literally statues of the man showing us exactly what he looked like. People are sick of seeing characters be blackwashed, especially when they are real people. This is why diversity and inclusion gets a bad rap. Because they do diversity for the sake of it, and when they get called out on it, they try to use racism as an excuse, when infact they are the ones being racist.
The problem is that you can't criticize a black actor being in a film without it being racist.... Ya can't just think that the casting was wrong without getting labeled...lol! It's pathetic.
Wait, but isn't this cultural appropriation ? I guess it's fine if certain group does it...
Exactly. Everyone is kissing his butt in the comments but he looks and acts like he's so out-of-place in this movie.
It's not racism, it's fatigue. The industry is stale, and nobody wants to watch a remake of a remake of a remake...

@@desmien679 in this case I disagree. The characters in Braveheart had a real life and anyone could make a film about them before or after the events Gibson's film.
