- What would you do if Tesla gave you a car for the weekend? Road trip, of course! Today we’re taking you on a road trip to Daylesford to experience Clifftop at Hepburn, designer accommodation in Daylesford, Victoria with a bevy of design and accommodation awards under its belt including being recognised as Australia’s No.1 Romantic Getaway! However it’s Clifftop’s latest achievement that we came to see, having newly installed Tesla Powerwall‘s, Clifftop at Hepburn have managed to turn their indulgent luxurious villa’s into fully sustainable eco homes. So to test out this Tesla Ecosystem and get a feel for the future, we jumped in our EV (that stands for electric vehicle guys, get used to hearing it) and headed North… luckily for you, we saved you a spot.
We visited the Evoke Villa at Clifftop at Hepburn recently equipped with a Tesla Powerwall, making this villa a self-powered home by combining solar energy and the Powerwall to independently power the home day and night. During the day, if the solar panels produce more energy than the home uses, the Powerwall stores that excess solar energy and makes it available on demand, even after the sun has set. This we found out is especially handy in Daylesford, as the area is prone to power outages - so now when the grid goes down, solar energy continues to power the villa. It’s also fitted with an iPad that allows you to access the Tesla app, so when staying there you have full visibility into your self-powered home - including how much power you’re using! This was really fascinating as it gives you a really great indication into how much power you consume on a daily basis. We spoke with Dave, the owner of Clifftop at Hepburn about his decision to ‘become a greenie’ and why he chose to install the Tesla Powerwall. Watch the video to hear what he had to say.

The problem isn't TESLA. It's OIL industry!
_In the very beginning of car manufacturing (before the assembly line), only the rich could afford a car. But once Ford implemented the assembly line system & the federal government began investing in highways & roads, the car industry took off. Cars prices began to fall drastically._

Wow. One of the best houses yet! The spectacular exterior features, rusted perforated tower, graphic column. The gangway entry path, the terrific variety of materials, and so many personal touches. The pin ball game, patterned wall textures, adorable fireplace, a useful kitchen, nice color mixes. A fun treehouse to add to it all.

I think you deserve it, and it's not for the money, you simply deserve to be as beautiful as you are, I know that Australia has a lot to do with renewable energy, I love the design but also the automation of responsible energy consumption. the engineering of the USA and Europe in homes a fusion of the Western Tradition, but not in politics but rather in specific undertakings, and it is not for luxury or money, it is to be fully happy to see oneself as it is.

Is it me or did I miss the closets in this place? It’s a beautiful structure however, I don’t see any closets! The master bedroom was just meh...except for the views. It seemed just as big as the other bedroom. Other than that, liked the clean, Rustic design. The fact it runs on Tesla battery charge, is quite impressive. But how about 4 or more people who charge devices at one time? Just curious...like the video though.

5kw (per hour) solar panel system with 13kw battery. It runs the villa for the day and also charges the battery. The battery then last most of the night if not all of it depending on guest power usage. Dave

The problem with being with someone for 13 years who goes everywhere pin pointing how this needs to be better. This material needs to be better n this staining needs to be better . This tree needs rooting or its gna in grown the tiles . This pool tiles needs non slip .It kind of takes away your joy n gratefulness n magnify 1 % flaw that needs fixing n 99 % immaculately deisgned things out the door.. N i personally have become a lil like that too. I think we both need to just have a mental cleansing. So we could both appreciate things in life again. Making sure everything runs smoothly brain is a hard brain to live with. It takes away your gratefulness.. not his fault. Just apart of the job. Must be harder for him.

Do you rent or own your own place? Do you have your own car spot or have to park on the road? You could get an electrician to install the Tesla Charger that they give free when you purchase a a Tesla EV, even in an outdoor carport or an open area as the Tesla Chargers are waterproof and don’t have to be installed indoors or under a little cover
After installing the Tesla ecosystems at Clifftop and driving a Tesla for the first time...I went out and bought one straight away. Didn't get a discount...but its worth every cent. Dave
