One of the things that Jenna Ortega did to play Wednesday was avoid any eye blinks while being filmed. If you have ever tried not to consciously blink for any length of time you realize how hard it is. That is why she played the roll so well.

I loved when it comes out that Enid and Thing have become fast friends - her unstoppable spirit and ability to engage with practically anyone is both awesome and perfect as the friend Wednesday needed.
Such an incredibly well-written show (it's Millar-Gough so not a huge surprise, but still). None of the characters are one-note, they're all faceted and complex in their own weird ways. Enid and Eugene are both great, they're the best. I would say that they're not the friends that Wednesday deserves, but definitely the ones she needs right now.
Do you know Wednesday had a pet spider named Homer? You tube has all these great episodes from the original series. The best is her dancing with Lurch. Girl can dance.

Having finished it last night, I'm enjoying watching it again with you. This is definitely one of those series you have to watch twice. You are definitely picking up on clues much better than I did, and I am stop-and-rewind-that-last-part-again type of guy.
The thing about Wednesday and Morticia is Wednesday was raised to dress,behave,speak and think very similarly to her mother:Polite,traditionally feminine and softspoken yet blunt and unapologetically dark and morbid in temperament so naturally as she comes into her adolescence she`s going to feel a certain amount of pressure to both step out of her mother`s shadow and emphasize the subtle difference between them.(Hence "I will never get married, start a family or be a housewife"),also Morticia and Gomez have sheltered their children from the persecution their ancestors and they themselves in their younger years experienced at the hands of 'normies' like Joseph Crackstone. Yet Wednesday has always felt far more than the rest of the Addams Family an odd mix of resentment and yet desire to be accepted by 'normies' though she will rarely admit such desires out loud.
Oh Angela lol, your reactions are almost interactive, too cute! The post video "Thing" close-up hand gestures, snapping with Wednesday, etc. You are almost too smart for your own good in your analysis, keep up the great work!

Jenna Ortega is absolutely a great Wednesday, but I'm a little disappointed on how much the characters have changed from the movies I know them from. I can't really elaborate on that without spoiling stuff, unfortunately, but the series is definitely more a reboot than a "continuation of the saga" that I hoped it would be. Still, I enjoyed the series quite a bit, even if it was a bit more "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" than "Addams Family". It definitely left me wanting to see a season 2.

Got my library card and glasses in 4th grade, Edgar Rice Burroughs and Rudyard Kipling were early obsessions (among many others). Not sure when discovered pulp fiction, movie serials, 1930s (20s?) magazines.

What I find interesting is that they got the second riddle wrong. The netherworld is a world below/beneath/under ours, not between ours. It's like someone in props misheard beneath as between and no-one found out until they looked at the statue. So they just went with it rather than going to the trouble and expense of fixing it, figuring the viewers would not know enough about an obscure word to catch the mistake.
Adams familly is out of this wold , her capacity is way under gomez in fencing , under her mother for sorcery , under puxley for stamina and survavibility , under uncle fester in crazy and power ,under cousin itt for hair growth and she lived in a mansion with a lion ,a bear ,a giant octopuss and many elses monsters not including the rest of her familly :) so the "jokes " are joke's for people but are truth for the Adams , they really experienced electroshock therapy etc ... its not just a joke a kid could say to be cool ^^
Ace Wednesday all the way. It was really weird the way they kept pushing the sex angle on a character who seems clearly not about it, from the gross "You ever been with a normie?" comments to literally multiple episodes dedicated to coercing her into a kiss when she keeps having lines like "I have no idea why you want to do this, you are making a mistake" to all advances, it was super awkward. Not a huge fan of the "you'll grow out of being queer/different if you keep being pushed to be 'normal'" trope tbh (kinda goes against the whole premise of the show)
I am only a few episodes ahead and I really enjoy watching you watch the show. I normally never watch shows like this but I always enjoyed The Addams Family when I saw them before the word RERUN existed. I'm 62 and 3/4's. You really seem to enjoy Wednesday so I'm recommend Adult Wednesday, played by Melissa Hunter just Incase you or your audience hasn't seen her on CZcams. Keep up the good work.
The cool thing about that line just before the race starts "I don't think I'm better than everyone" is that Bianca would have assumed Xavier told Wednesday, not that she overheard it... Really get in her head.

I was afraid of that myself (and I think I know who you are talking about -- she's the worst!), so I made sure not to YT search anything related to 'Wednesday' or 'Addams Family' until I finished the series. It should be an unwritten rule for reactors not to write any feelings or quick reaction in the title. Angela 'funnylilgalreacts' writes it perfectly: Show name, S#-E# Reaction, Ep Name.
As someone who isn’t historically an “Addams Family” fan, I was initially quite intrigued by the initial trailer for the show; I didn’t think it looked bad, but there’s been enough disappointment from what I expect and being underwhelmed (or finding it bad) that I wasn’t sure. The fact Tim Burton hasn’t made a product I love since the 2000s (and some have been terrible even since then) didn’t help, but the fact the IP hasn’t been a favourite perhaps also helped me not get too excited… All to say that since then, I’m glad this far exceeded my expectations; this show might not be the most original thing ever, but it does pretty much everything it sets out to do WELL. Really well… the progression of the story arc this first season, as well as the characters (especially Jenna Ortega’s inspirational Wednesday Addams) really buoys the series so far. I’ll comment more as I go, but so far it’s pretty self-explanatory. Keep at it. On the last video, I wanted to pitch in that I don’t fault you not immediately loving Luis Guzman’s take on Gomez Addams; besides not being conventionally attractive, or the fact most people are perhaps more familiar with the old tv show and movies than the comics (where he IS depicted as stout and rotund), it’s hard to follow in the footsteps of Raul Julia’s legendarily charismatic performance. He was the definition of “Ability Over Appearance”, and he was YOUR version of Gomez. Nonetheless I hope that in time he wins you over as a different but still valid take on the character; he and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia have already caught the essence of the couple and hopefully you feel similar eventually.
1st episode got me hooked and episode just made me love the show more i can't wait for you to find out what the monster is and for this show to get a season 2. #TheSandman & #Wednesday #Season2
So many shows never rise above, "decent," because the writing just isn't great, or it's inconsistent. The writing in this show -- especially the dialogue with the bouts of rapid repartee -- is just top-notch. It's no wonder that Jenna Ortega, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci and all the young actors jumped at the chance to take roles, in it.

Im behind on this, just watching your reaction after I watch the episode...but I think there is something up with Christina Ricci's character. For example, her wig isnt just because of the wardrobe department, she keeps fixing it as if something is up in the show.
That’s the only real fault it appears she can do everything. It’s a modern day think making powerful women sadly they general get it wrong by making them so powerful they are never in danger. Even superman has kryptonite . . .

As someone who isn’t historically an “Addams Family” fan, I was initially quite intrigued by the initial trailer for the show; I didn’t think it looked bad, but there’s been enough disappointment from what I expect and being underwhelmed (or finding it bad) that I wasn’t sure. The fact Tim Burton hasn’t made a product I love since the 2000s (and some have been terrible even since then) didn’t help, but the fact the IP hasn’t been a favourite perhaps also helped me not get too excited…
All to say that since then, I’m glad this far exceeded my expectations; this show might not be the most original thing ever, but it does pretty much everything it sets out to do WELL. Really well… the progression of the story arc this first season, as well as the characters (especially Jenna Ortega’s inspirational Wednesday Addams) really buoys the series so far.
I’ll comment more as I go, but so far it’s pretty self-explanatory. Keep at it.
On the last video, I wanted to pitch in that I don’t fault you not immediately loving Luis Guzman’s take on Gomez Addams; besides not being conventionally attractive, or the fact most people are perhaps more familiar with the old tv show and movies than the comics (where he IS depicted as stout and rotund), it’s hard to follow in the footsteps of Raul Julia’s legendarily charismatic performance. He was the definition of “Ability Over Appearance”, and he was YOUR version of Gomez. Nonetheless I hope that in time he wins you over as a different but still valid take on the character; he and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia have already caught the essence of the couple and hopefully you feel similar eventually.

So many shows never rise above, "decent," because the writing just isn't great, or it's inconsistent.
The writing in this show -- especially the dialogue with the bouts of rapid repartee -- is just top-notch.
It's no wonder that Jenna Ortega, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci and all the young actors jumped at the chance to take roles, in it.

Im behind on this, just watching your reaction after I watch the episode...but I think there is something up with Christina Ricci's character. For example, her wig isnt just because of the wardrobe department, she keeps fixing it as if something is up in the show.
