I don't think 2-player select would've been for wood. Aquatic Ruin's theme in the demo tracks fits a jungle really well, and woods was called Secret Jungle in some concept art. 2-player select fits well for Ocean Wind though.
In my opinion Aquatic Ruin Zone Theme was used by Aquatic Ruin/Neo Green Hill/Emerald Isle Zone,because in the concept art for Emerald Isle Zone there is a jungle in the background, and the Aquatic Ruin Zone Theme in Masa's Demo version fits the jungle

You mean the pre redesign of Tails. The guys that made AOSTH and SATAM were sent an early design of Tails where he's brown. Ofc that design was Changed to the design we know today, being a Yellow Tails. But I can see why it can be seen as "American Tails" due to both cartoons being from America.

This music and level inspired me to recreate the original beta 4 sonic 2 prototype, WOOD ZONE act 1 stage. I used the roblox game classic sonic simulator where you can create your own levels and special stages. Thanks for sharring this perfect demo! I know everyone says the music doesnt fit but i think its just perfect, and the level layout is amazing! Im looking forward to seeing this release. Oh and one question, will this be releasing on mobile, or will it even be functional on mobile?

What it looks like - the wood zone graphics were very incomplete. Considering how detailed other levels are in the game, it looks like they managed to add graphics placeholders for level tiles and background.
