I'm 74 years old. Played piano all my life with a focus on accompaniment to congregational singing and all kinds of gospel music. As a result, I was very familiar with the keyboard but never introduced to the classics. Within the last year, a dear friend who knew how I loved music (and loved being as musical as I could be) really encouraged me to begin to understand and get acquainted with the preludes and fugues, Bach's inventions and sinfonias, etc. I'll never look back.....I'm working on only the simple ones, of course, but finding such joy in realizing that I CAN learn to play them - as well as I can learn to play them - always looking for the music in it, and once I catch that - learning how to express it as well as I can. I do a lot of "looking performances up" on line and listening to how the masters play them. I don't make their performance a goal, obviously, but I can make it a learning point, a reference point. I have long been familiar with certain melody lines and certain titles - and am finding a great deal of satisfaction in gaining in understanding and ability to play the pieces - at my level. About 18 months ago, I had a bad fall and injured several fingers on my left hand, impacting mobility. I am finding that the daily piano playing is incredibly therapeutic for that hand. ....and I am still enjoying, very much, the endless progressions and predictable patterns of gospel music. Talking OLD gospel here - stuff published 1942 and before. That's a genre all its own. Music - a fair and glorious gift of God. I will never play for an audience other than God. I hope He's pleased with my progress.

I learned this when I was about 7 or 8 years old🥹I am 22 years old now and still don’t know how to read sheet music. I learned it by ear and just double checking with people that know how to read sheet music to triple check that I played it right. But I play piano solely by ear 👂🏽🎹🥹 There’s so much nostalgia and memories associated with this song. It is such a beautiful melody and to this day is still one of my favorite tunes. I still play it to this day, along with many more tunes other songs. I love all types of music and instrumentals like interstellar, Narnia, lion king’s this land, Balto soundtracks, or any Hanz Zimmer music honestly. I love it all🥹piano, music, melody, harmony, symphony is my outlet and soothes my soul, playing piano will remain in me forever 🥹🎹I love music. Even though I will probably never learn how to read notes or sheet music, I will always play piano and sing in harmony. Thankful to and grateful that God gave me such gift like this😭🥹🤍
About the 1st mov. The dynamic is excelent. It sounded soft yet firm with the bass being semi percussive when needed. Even if it's played a little fast, the control he has with each key press is remarkable. Emphasizing the correct notes like they are supposed to be is by no means an easy task. This guy really thought this through and through.

Mozart's melody is so pretty unworldly that I should feel like being drawn into the another world where my soul could be totally liberated from this world. Great thanks be to Mozart ❤
The element of fantasy is added to Mozart’s harmonious music of beauty and simplicity like a “hidden ingredient”, creating an Exquisitely Harmonious Crystal in my heart 💖
A little ways after 1:53, just as he reaches the statement of the theme in F Major, this quality appears in the sound - this kind of floating, angelic sheen that just mystifies me. Probably Barenboim meant to get exactly that tone (I don't know how he would achieve it), or possibly the recording engineer brought it out in some way, or perhaps the room's acoustics just lined up perfectly for that moment to shine. But it's magic.
The unusual tone is from the extremely beautiful acoustics. You would be shocked if hearing that same section in a small room, as he used absolutely no pedal, which you hear especially in the left hand mezzo-staccato. The floating feeling is from playing molto pianissimo skilfully (slight crescendo each descent) in right hand with no pedal and such energetic acoustics making impression unusually floating.
The essence of Mozart’s music could be said a wonderfully harmonious mix of “Beautiful”and“Simple”!! That's why I love him. Great thanks be to Mozart for his musical blessing ❤
The genius of Mozart..... This Sonata is the perfect example of the wonders and beauty of modulation done by a master. Seamlessly as if by magic. Jumping and strolling from one tonal dynamics to the next in an almost imperseptive phrased, melodic & harmonious way. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 🌹 💐

Daniel Barenboim does the best Mozart interpretations I've ever heard. Just soft enough in the right spots but as forceful as I always thought heavy passages should be. Wonderful playing. My daughter has started learning this piece. Such a beautiful piece!
I love the second movement so much!!!
Mozart: so great! A musical genius! We are so lucky we can enjoy his music today, that we have available better technology. Special thanks to CZcams and to the people who post and share this fantastic music.
Unbelievable!! Wish I could play it that well
Very beautiful, great expression and technique.
When I listen to Mozart's music, I feel something exceedingly profound in my heart that cannot be expressed in words and that other musicians cannot musically imagine.
Yo empecé a leer esta partitura y practicarla y me sorprende
y admira la técnica , y claridad con que toca el maestro en este video!
Yo me tarde mucho en poder terminar de tocarla y no suena ni la mitad de bien que este video… :/
Beautiful!! I love it!
I'm 14, and I'm playing this right now. Your style is beautiful, and it shows the true magic of this piece. I wish I could play like that. I love where you took the piece, and added a bit of personalization.
Random Person Hi Im 14,playing this piece too.quite sad i couldnt save it offline.the passages were clear and omg its sooooooo awesome
Check out Benjamin Zander's TED talk - I think you'll really enjoy his take on this piece as a young player. Brilliant talk, hope you enjoy!
Random Person I wish I had a piano to play this piece haha. but I play on an online piano for now
Random Person I played it when I was about eleven and recently played around with it again and boy does it sound good.
@@franc1e Same. I'm fourteen now and have since moved on from Sonata in C (played at 11) to Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies and La Campanella.
Quando ascolto questa musica, sento che “ Bellezza e Semplicità ” si fondono armoniosamente in uno per diventare un cristallo come un'oasi che dona guarigionespirituale e momenti fantastici ❤
I must have watched this video over a hundred times, and i can still feel it like the very first time.
I loved this! Daniel Barenboim’s playing is so light delicate and agile. He makes this rigorous piece sound effortless!
Extraordinaria interpretación.
Awesome performance.
Mozart had an awesome tallent! This is one of the best of his compositions.
Simply a beautiful rendition!
