The only pianist in the world where I hear a Mozart sonata performed and could not imagine or want a single note played differently. Truly the greatest of all time. Thank you
After 20 years playing and listening this piece played ... this is the first time I find out the real beauty of this work ... this is heavenly and magical ... this is beyond words

I love the slow introspective interpretation of the K545- so many pianists rush through it but Sokolov shows his class. He is not afraid to take his time, giving us a totally different experience. Absolutely wonderful

Even good recordings like this here display only 70% or 80% of the live concert experience at best. Sokolov recorded is magic. But Sokolov live is heavenly.
Sadly, Sokolov doesn't give concerts in the USA -- one reason why he doesn't get much publicity here. I've listened to classical since high school, but discovered Sokolov only about four years ago.

Magical voicing in both. Schnabel once described Mozart's solo piano music (not the concertos) as too easy for children and too difficult for grownups. Not for Sokolov.
I'd heard of Solokov as a legend in his own right-how very "right" that was is shown here. Wonderful, delicate but powerful and so true to Mozartian style-the little differences and ornamentations were pretty. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
Sokolov’s playing embodies whatever the Good is. He places and weights every note carefully, like he’s building a cathedral of sound. He shows us how simple beauty is meant to be.

I never new K545 sonata could sound like this... absolutely magnificent, clean, innocent altogether. I used to listen to Barenboim's rendition alot. Sokolov's version sounds so different than anyone else's.

This is totally wonderful! He makes sounds that are of incredible beauty. But most importantly, this artist is in such control that the overall performance becomes altogether delightful for the listener!
🌟 "Immersing oneself in the world of classical music is akin to entering a realm of sublime beauty. The compositions are not mere notes; they are the architects of emotions, constructing bridges between the ethereal and the earthly. It's a journey that never fails to leave the soul profoundly moved." 🎼💫
Many have been critical of his tempo in k457, but I think the problem is that everyone else plays it too fast! This is the perfect tempo, especially for the adagio.
Mozart composed for a forte piano, not a Steinway grand piano. Different mechanics all together which must mean something for the intended tempo. Or so I think. Maybe I am wrong but, anyway, this rendition is perfectely paced.
