      I reached out to betterhelp
      Unfortunately I couldn't afford the sessions at the time.
      Because I was unable to afford the sessions at my darkest moment it was really hard but their treatment was to cut me off abruptly I emailed them about how they handled things and they never replied
      This was really bad for my mental health I just hope no one suicidal reaches out to them to be cut off due to their current financial circumstances.
      They could have worked out a payment plan to begin at a later date and therapy to start at a later date
      I Will never recommend them or tell anyone to use their services after there behaviour.
      So much for better help

    For you to comment that a house is "bad", it must be really, really bad. I've never hear you say something like that or use the word pointless in any video you made so far... I appreciate this honesty, often in life things are beyond repair and it's the cycle of life. Some houses are just too broken, too rotten. I like that you bring it with respect, you still have so much empathy and respect for the owners. You always do your best with love and this time it must be too late! What's sad is that because it was so cold you didn't get to full enjoy the cleaning!
    And the dog.. animal services might want to come and take a look at him.. 😕 Even for that big guy it must be lonely and cold..

    Mack makes a good point on his channel-it's often worth washing down the worst of the crud after hoarding or other issues has left a property in very poor condition so that contractors can at least go in in relative safety to assess what work is needed. I doubt many if any would be happy to be on site in the slime and debris. Awesome as always Auri!

      It's likely they haven't been able to seek help for their situation. If they informed local social security workers that their home doesn't have heat, they would provide them another place to live. Homelessnes is taken very seriously here. Your electricity bill, heating bill, waterbill etc will be paid if you can't pay them on your own.
      The father might not have realized how bad the situation was, he might have been too scared to loose his son or something. The son could also have asked for help, but he could have also been too scared or too depressed to do so.

      I was in prison during the beginning of covid in the US, and the prisons were so over full and crowded that they relegated many of us (including all the women, because there were so many more men) to an abandoned old building from the 1960s that had not been in use for more than 30 years. The conditions were similar to the house in this video. No air/heat, leaking water everywhere, barely a functioning light, mold so bad you can’t breathe, walls, ceiling and paint all crumbling, and roach and rodent infestations. I cannot imagine choosing to stay in a home like this when you have your freedom, it was inhumane for any prisoner or animal. Feel very bad for the son especially. I just know it felt like a prison for him to be there.

    • @ShadoeLandman
      @ShadoeLandman Před 2 měsíci +8

      This would be nothing like being homeless, where people can steal from you at any time, you don’t have shelter, don’t have a safe space or place to call your own. Yeah, it’s bad, but only the very luckiest homeless people with private or family rooms in good shelters have it better.

      In Finland, we have a "housing first" -policy for the homeless. Housing for everyone, no strings attached, no pre-requirements for it. Winters would otherwise be full of cadavers on the city streets. So I can't fathom why would someone's situation evolve to be this bad, with no heating in the winter. It makes me sad and angry that our society has let this poor kid down.

    @tamaratamtammorris8151 Před 2 měsíci +77

    Even if that house has to be demo'd, the fact that you cleaned it is a good thing because it would have to have been emptied out first. I'll bet because there is no heat, the pipes and fixtures froze, burst, and now leak like crazy. Northern winters are no joke and even if the pipes are insulated, the cold will get to them eventually if the residence itself isn't adequately heated.
    If they're going to try and save the house, the first things they'll need to replace are the faucets, turn on the heat, and then look over the rest of the plumbing and repair any leaks. I hope that house can be saved because demolishing and rebuilding a house are very expensive.

    Thank you Auri, by the condition of the home, this family has been suffering for a while… it only took a hospitalization for anyone to know what was truly behind these doors. When it comes to children (even if they’re 17), it breaks my heart.. he’s been living like this for a while. Whether or not this house is condemned, you brought this family some hope.
    As for the puppy, I couldn’t tell if it was a long lead, but he’s a husky. Some thrive in the cold weather. I’ve seen huskies in -20 who refuse to go inside.

I hope they will all get the help they need and that things work out for them, especially their living situation. Auri, any work you do is helpful and a blessing even if the home is beyond repair. Thank you for always being kind and open and honest.💜💜

If it makes you feel any better about trying to clean up a hopeless case, Mack would tell you to remember that you're making it less awful for the people who might have to come take the place down. I'll guess 73 pickle jars. Another great job Auri. The home is certainly liveable compared to what it was. Sad, but better than homeless. It of course, must have heat and good working running water. Our home has very few working electrical outlets, and many plumbing problems. We have no heat or AC, but we live in Florida, so it's manageable, just not comfortable. Our roof is a leaky mess. It's hard to find help for free. We have no money for any repairs. Some people just don't know how good they have it just to have the basics that most would expect to have.

    Terve!
    Olet hyvä ihminen kun haluat auttaa ihmisiä uuteen alkuun. On kuitenkin tärkeätä että myös ajattelet omaa terveyttäsi. Pöly voi vuosien mittaan aiheuttaa sinulle todella
    vaikean keuhkosairauden.

    Seeing the home so far, it is in very rough state even though the leaking faucets are an easy fix. I think with expert people it might be saved with professional plumbing, electrical work and lots of renovation, time and money, it could be made into a decent home without a complete demolish. Its a project for the professionals and not a DIY job. Hopefully there is good bones and foundation... maybe we'll see next week if there is any hope for it. Auri's cleaning may reveal the reality! Time will tell us!

    For a job like this without heat, layering clothing is helpful, that way you can add or remove clothing as you go and remain comfortable. Also, you may be able to source layers of work clothes from a charity shop. That way if they get too funky you can throw them away afterwards. There are companies that make insulated work clothes such as coveralls that are very durable and can be washed a lot without falling apart. You've done a great job so far with what you found in this house. It seems inhumane and dangerous for humans to live in a house without heat and running water. I am also concerned for the dog, but the welfare of the 17 year old son is of prime concern. Maybe one of your sponsors can pay for a plumber to come into the house and restore and repair the plumbing fixtures and or pay for a safe portable space heater for the owner to at least have in at least one room. God bless you for taking on this job! You have such a good heart.
