  • Hi! I’m Aurikatariina and I clean my followers homes’ for free! ❤️
Now we are going to continue with this house of horrors! This one truly gave me nightmares since everything was broken, nothing got clean and I just felt pretty hopeless. But of course I was also having fun!! Ralph’s relatives were super Nice and they helped me a lot. His brother tried to fix everything he possibly could but I still think it would be for the best that no one lived here anymore. As you can see from the video we discovered so much water damage and damage over all that it is such a health risk to even be here. I was scared that the floor might give in because it was rotten and had holes in it. There was also rat droppings everywhere in the kitchen. The kitchen tap was leaking but not into the sink. It was leaking in between the sink and walls. The floor underneath the sink had dropped and I think it is just a matter of time until the floor really gives in. But I understand they want to keep the house since they built it themselves.

You made the home slightly more livable for a man who doesn't want to leave. You made it easier for paramedics, inspectors, and social workers to get in and do their jobs. You made it slightly more bearable for that boy whose still stuck in that situation. Thats not a "fail" at all. You did your part.

This is what I was going to comment. How are people not concerned about the literal child. I have seen so many comments worried about the dog. While I agree even a dog shouldn't be living in this condition, the human child with another parent?! Wtf... I try not to judge when a whole family is living in a mental illness home, but the mother apparently has at least a home with functioning appliances. Why is she allowing her child to go there??? Even if my kids were worried about the other parent and wanted to stay there to take care of them, it is my responsibility to keep them safe and healthy. This is so sad.

She had someone from the Canadian government come in to test the air quality and they uncovered so many problems. I moved out the next month and tried to sue the company who owned the building. The law society of upper Canada went on strike and I didn't pursue it, though I really wanted to see it through. I had 2 notes from Doctors stating that my unit was unfit to live in due to mold but the company who owned the building said that I abandoned the property and charged me 3 months rent. This is actually crazy to me. So I apparently had the wax seal under my toilet go bad, meaning the toilet was dripping down to the floor beneath. So I got the leak repaired and cut open the ceiling below thinking I could do the repair myself. Nope, mold. I don't know how long the leak went for, but the damage was pretty clear. This was in a less than 4x4 area. I called my insurance company and we've begun the process of water mitigation and mold mitigation and they've had to cut out waaaay more drywall than I thought in 2 rooms! From a tiny leak in one small place. And I'm looking at the stream behind the sink in your video and the toilet and everything leaking and literally there is no chance that anything in the house is not water logged and molded. So sad but the damage is so pervasive when it comes to water. I do hope the brother and the ex-wife recognize this is not liveable. I would have reported them after the family thinking this was ok. It's the best thing in this situation for the dad and son. Yes, nobody will buy the house itself but that in itself is a statement about the current well-being of anyone who is living in it and trying to rationalize that goes against the comment she made. Safety over finances for now I think.❤ You can't put lipstick on a pig (so to speak)

Exactly. Report the family to child protective services and call the ASPCA and move on. A place like this is only going to endanger her because who knows how much black mold is behind those walls from all that running water.

The house can`t be helped but people can. The very fact they showed Katariina their house, and went there and had a look themselves... might help them understand it`s time to change their lives.

@@NV-yc9cy I have hope but... if a mother thinks it's acceptable for her child to be living in a broken dangerous place like this for such a long time.... I don't think Auri will work some kind of magic and change them immediately.

This free cleaning challenged Auri like no other and yet, she does not change. In a world where too many are far too quick to judge people and situations they know nothing of, I am thankful people like Auri live among us.
Auri does not change. Auri cleans what she can, in every situation. If I lived in Finland, I would know of Auri and would ask if I could help clean, too.
Auri says she doesn't know why there is damage in the house and doesn't know what can be fixed, or if it should be condemned. ... very likely because she is not a contractor, electrician or plumber. However, she cleans anyway, and DOES NOT judge the people involved. I do see the benefit of her cleaning. The people who live in the house, the brother and ex-wife can see not only what needs to be repaired, but they can see the possible. But, of course, it takes money to buy building products ... plywood, 2x4's, electrical and plumbing parts, etc. I'm sure Auri would know how to forward your money to the brother, without violating their privacy.
Auri does not change. That tells us she is healthy and her character ... integrity, ethics, morality and every trait and habit that hold those up ... kindness, compassion, empathy, boundaries and more, and not judging is solid and stable. Those who judge and criticize, whether they know the situation or not, show their character, and lack of boundaries, as well.
You critical ones ... your relative ease, ignorance and entitlement is showing. If you don't think there are millions of people, worldwide, who live in houses like this, or less, you are surprisingly naive. Will you freely criticize a family in Sudan who lives in a tent and who has one daily task --- searching for something to eat and drink? Probably. Will you freely criticize the single parent in Appalachia who lives in a cabin that needs repair, with no electricity, no running water, or toilet, and has no money to fix anything? Probably.
The dog: It is not only common, it is wise to contain one's dog when strangers are in the house. Auri doesn't want a strange dog following her around, nor does anyone else on her team who may be with her.
Auri knows more about double coated dogs than every person who is criticizing the Husky being tied up and laying in the snow.
How many people know double coated dogs, like Huskies, haul sleds and carts in extremely cold temperatures? How many people know Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD's) guard and herd livestock all over the world in what humans consider "extreme" cold ... that they enjoy their jobs, that the cold doesn't bother them, that they sleep in the snow? If you want to make the Husky in this video uncomfortable, bring him in the house and make him live in a warm environment like you do your chihuahua or bulldog.
Auri does not criticize the 17 yr old because he is old enough to make his own decisions. Despite too many who want to think of him as a "child"; and make him one, he is not. His reasons for staying with his Dad are his and he owes no explanation, especially to judgemental strangers.
Contact Auri. ... find out if there are ways you can financially can gather together to help this family, or if there are government agencies or volunteer groups who rehab homes. Search the internet for groups or agencies that operate in Finland with a mission to help rehab homes.
Or, just continue criticizing and judging people and situations you know nothing about except what you were allowed to see, by the creator, in one video.

The home owners need a healthy start somewhere new, and hopefully somewhere pet-friendly with a building supervisor in charge of plumbing, etc. Not only can they not clean, they don't seem to understand that leaks must be repaired correctly immediately! This is long-term extreme home neglect. It's also long-term self-neglect, because no one deserves to live in such conditions for any amount of time. I'm sure they are very nice people. Think how much happier they would be if they left this place of cold and decay to live somewhere basic, but much healthier!

If Ralph goes back to this house the situation will stay the same and only worsen with time, especially given that the bedrooms weren't cleaned and the damage is so big it would take months and a lot of money to fix. One day sooner or later this house will fall apart and it's better if it's not with someone inside. It’s sad for the boy and for the dog, no one should live like this. Ralph's not mentally able to take care of them, it seems. Someone should alert social services.

Auri, you did your best under very bad circumstances. God bless you for your willingness to try at least. This is an impossible situation with broken everything and long-term maintenance neglect. Even the magic of Auri can't undo that! Your heart is in the right place, but I think your Mom was right about this. At minimum, a place should have running water to have any hope of being able to clean it. It sounds like the entire family is denial about how bad things are.

So many good comments…when utilities doesn’t work it really isn’t livable. Especially in the winter, in Finland…
If the house is thirty years old and in this bad shape it’s also extremely poorly maintained.
The parents don’t seem to acknowledge what needs to be taken care of - house, kids, animals or them selfs.
The type of conversation you are having with them seems to be a delusional one. The kids are now also enabling the living situation. This family need help and have been for a long time.
    The house is not safe.
