      Mumbos mountain isn't interesting to me (B tier) except for the anthill, which is disappointing when you finally transform. Spiral Mtn is a better tutorial.
      Mayhem interior sections are too spaced out and roomy. The outside area is cool, and I like the Terrydactyland connection. But I think Mayahem should be B tier.
      Rusty bucket bay and Clankers cavern are great levels, certainly both better than Terrydactyland (although I love messing with the rival cavemen and fighting Terry). RBB has an amazing skybox + music, awesome details (breaking windows to enter crew quarters), solid landmarks, and better verticality than even Freezeezy peak. The engine room jiggy isn't even that bad if you are patient. Clankers cavern swimming is fun if you use the A button to stop momentum+tight turning (you didn't seem to use this trick in the game play I saw), and the theme music + mutant crab battle + exploring inside clanker = fun level. Only gets a bit repetitive swimming in pipes.

    I absolutely love Grunty Industries and I think it is the most underrated level by far. First off, the atmosphere, music, and theming of the level are all fantastic. It feels dark, dirty, and mysterious, like you are trying to pry deeper into the secrets of the factory that is actively trying to keep you out. You have the main areas, which have the normal music, but there are areas that feel weirdly dark and quiet, like the giant pole that connects all the floors, the giant fan, the F1 toxic waste area, and the roof.
    It is one of the only levels where you have to actively work for forward progression and it reminds me more of a giant Zelda dungeon puzzlebox, than a traditional banjo level. I love having an actual difficult level that really makes you think about the greater layout and connections between each floor and objective. I think the small tasks like the rabbits and the batteries contribute to the broader theming of a giant labrinth that forces you to really consider the entire layout. Sure, some people might see it as tedious, but I see it as a game of trying to piece together how everything connects.
    It scratches the same Itch for me that Hollow Knight and the metroid games share with trying to keep track of this massive interconnected labrinth. I wish people would appreciate complex and difficult levels.

    The one thing about Clankers Cavern that I've come to appreciate is the mystery on how to raise Clanker up so banjo kazooie can reach new hights. I didn't know you could swim through the key as 10 yr old me to raise him up. Thus, the mystery of not being able to reach the side platforms always alluded me and I would always wonder how to make the jump. 😅 for that, clankers cavern was actually a really good memory.

    After writing my comment I noticed how long it ended up being so giving a heads up haha.
    Great video!! Happy to see there are others out there who love the Banjo and Kazooie games despite it seems like there aren't too many of us in the gaming environment.
    My best friend had Banjo Kazooie in 2000 and I got Tooie in 2002 iirc, and we both loved the games so much, though I have a bigger love for Tooie probably due to sentimental value.
    I loved Tooie bc it was basically just "more" B-K. Bigger worlds, bigger hub world, more moves, more secrets etc.
    I understand that people dislike backtracking bc it worsens the replayability, but I'm surprised people don't appreciate it when playing the game first time. At least if they were kids.
    I loved (have in mind I was a little kid) that I played in a world but for some reason certain quests or jiggies couldn't be completed at the time, making me progress to one or several further levels and forgetting about the previous one then learning a move or turning on a switch or opening a gate and then connecting the dots back to the jiggy/quest I couldn't complete earlier. It got me so stoked and got such a strong sense of achievement and fulfillment (example is the thirsty dinosaur in Terrydactyland who has no water and there's no real hints on what to do til you get three worlds later to Cloudcuckooland.)
    And been so shocked seeing the consensus on the internet how many people dislike Terrydactyland which is my favourite world by far. The idea of being in a world which took place millions of years ago, being around dinosaurs, amazing music, great NPC characters etc. It's a world you're supposed to take your time and be patient with, and I feel they kinda get that across. I loved that it was so big cause I felt they managed to implement a lot of sections in it so there wasn't plenty of empty spaces but there was rather much to do. I loved that it was perhaps the first actually difficult mountain (or general top) to top and it was a properly high top meaning you had to put in real effort and there risk of falling had big consequences (comparable with Click Clock Wood). The interconnectivity with the train and sick baby dinosaur and taking it to Mumbo in hub world, Mayahem Temple, and CCL with the water. I get people might find it too big, and I do agree it was a hassle with two different sized dinosaurs and you had to swap into mumbo just to swap between the sizes so it was a lot of back and forth. But all in all definetely my fave world!
    Again, great video and well done in the depth of analysis you guys did! Looking forward to more videos :)

    • @jiggylookback
      @jiggylookback  Před 4 měsíci +1

      No worries on length haha!
      I appreciate your thoughts and FINALLY have someone who also loved Terrydactyland! I hear people particularly bash that world but it too is one of my favorites simply for the aesthetic and dinosaurs! I loved climbing the mountains and discovering caves. And like you said it’s loaded with npcs and enemies. Also a unique thing is the dinosaurs can be enemies or NPCs depending on your transformation which is really cool.
      I hate it gets flack. It is bigger but that allows you to transform into a giant dinosaur. So come on folks lol

    • @ivordundic6095
      @ivordundic6095 Před 4 měsíci

      @@jiggylookback Exactly! I remember I thought it was so cool that you could communicate with the same dinosaurs who were your enemies when you were BK, and iirc they even told you about the shortcuts for the small dinosaur and how to enter them.
      I also loved that, despite the boss wasn't too difficult, but after beating her you end up co-operating with her and she continues being a part of the world and quests for you to deliver her babies. So I just really liked how beating the boss sets up a continuing sequence making the eggs now hatchable instead of the boss just disappearing. Terrydactyland had absolutely everything imo.
      And like you say, the aesthetics were just perfect to me. And yes, if you were in a rush, just play as the Daddy T-Rex and you'll get around everywhere in no time haha

I like it because it's a challenge, one that keeps me on my toes the most, not to mention it has arguably the best boss fight in the first game.
