Comparto. La música sinfónica que hizo La máquina, no pudo empardarla ningún otro grupo en Argentina, ni Seru y eso que Seru es un ícono superlativo.

Theu discovered that he has absolute ear, so he could know the note of a Noise only with listening. At the age of 14 he was playing the piano like a beast and then he play a lot of other instrument like you see and now its a legend of Argentinian rock. ( a nice song from charly you can listen " 3am")

Charly Garcia fue un testigo de su epoca, en sus canciones puede escucharse el sentimiento y el dolor de un pais. Es imposible guiar en su musica porque cada disco son, en promedio, diez canciones que documenta como es vivir en Buenos Aires.

Adela, gran letra! Por éso le sugería entender las letras antes de escuchar los temas.
Charly siempre comentó, en tono sarcástico y transitando el filo entre la seriedad y el humor, fiel a su carácter, que "Purple Rain" fue un plagio de "Canción para mi muerte". Aunque con el tiempo, García comenzó a bromear con que ambas canciones habían sido compuestas por los dos. (xd)

Al margen de eso son puras pavadas las que decís, Charly tuvo una época oscura con las drogas pero la rompía desde los 20 años en sui generis, luego en todas las bandas que estuvo destacó tocando música diferente en cada una de ellas......mejor música tuvo Luca??? Luca nunca fue solo Luca, fue Zumo; Luca (por cierto fue otro drogadicto también, de echo vino a la Argentina escapando de la heroína) trajo cosas adelantadas porque venia de Europa, el tipo era inteligente, excéntrico y tenia mucho carácter y era un showman ... aunque me guste la figura de Luca, sin el resto de buenos músicos que tenia al lado no hubiese echo nada relevante en el rock, asique, musicalmente no le llega ni a los talones a Charly (Luca no te hacía un tema solo porque no podía, Charly en todas las bandas que estuvo, cuando no componía el tema entero, componía el 80%).
Por otro lado y ya que tocás el tema de que a "Charly se le festeja cualquier cosa" entérate que eso es común a todos los famosos, el mismo Luca decía banda de boludeces que eran tomabas como palabra santa porque era el y "era re-rebelde" (sobre el tango, sobre los músicos de acá, etc).
Soda Estereo fue una muy buena banda y la mas exitosa a nivel latinoamericano, pero hablando de complejidad musical no esta al nivel de Charly en "La maquina de hacer Pajaros" o "Seru Giran" por ejemplo; pero no se puede pasar por alto que Soda tenia otra gran individualidad (G Ceratti), la carrera solista de G Ceratti supera musicalmente lo que hizo en SODA con creces....Calamaro? jajaja tiene buenos temas y lo banco pero no llega tan alto Calamaro...Vilmas Palmas? jajajaja, nada que decir...osea en este punto me doy cuenta que no entendés una mierda y me pregunto para que te contesto xd

@@joseborys1019 @José borys Como opinar pueden opinarse muchas barbaridades, sobre todo "la gente"....tal vez un fulano de las calles de Perú pueda definirse por Vilma, pero cualquier músico de verdad (esto es, que sepa de lenguaje musical) va a reconocer el talento de Charly Garcia y la variedad y gran calidad de su discográfica (sin mencionar el peso histórico para la historia del Rock Nacional) . Una cosa es el gusto personal y el factor ignorancia y otra cosa es la apreciación objetiva, y desde dicha perspectiva Vilma Palma es un grupo limitado que tiene un par de temas para el "cachengue" y poco mas (el resto temas de relleno), un grupo que apenas si apareció en los 90 (cuando Charly ya tenia 20 de carrera) ....Charly Garcia puede no ser de tu gusto pero ni en pedo podes decir que es un músico mediocre o que compone basura. No me interesa lo que opine un random cualquiera por la calle, me interesa lo que opine un músico y no creo que exista un MÚSICO que (aunque prefiera otros géneros) cuestione la calidad musical de Charly
Te resumo: podes decir que preferís Soda antes que charly? Si, esos son gustos. No podes decir que Charly es malo (porque en ultima instancia te remitís al aspecto formal del lenguaje y objetivamente es imposible concluir que Charly es si quiera mediocre). Podes decir que preferís escuchar Vilma antes que Charly? Si, gustos. Pero no podes decir que Vilma tiene siquiera un integrante (que son como 8 para colmo) que le llegue a los talones a Charly a la hora de componer una pieza musical.
Por otro lado según mi experiencia, Vilma Palma es la música retro-cutre que aparece para echarse unas risas cuando están todos medio en pedo en una fiesta (osea "la pachanga" y ponele que "auto rojo" y para de contar).

Charly mi querido amigo, es una de las joyas que dio nuestra música local, el primer LP que compre de Charly es justamente ese, Yendo de la cama al living, tenía 12 años yo y me marco con su música para siempre. Antes de ser solista tuvo 3 bandas. Sui Generis, La máquina de hacer pájaros y Seru Giran. De ahí a su carrera solista. Una institución en Argentina y América. Gracias por difundirlo.

Great choice! Charly's a living legend, a deal changer by all means! By the time he recorded this video, he had a 15 year career on his shoulders leading at least three different succesful bands, having also recorded several solo albums and was already an established mainstay of the Argentine rock scene. He was one of the founding fathers, so to speak. This video was shot to look shabby on purpose, not through any lack of means to do something better. His crazy antics are the stuff of legend among his fans. And at 68 he's still rocking...
Charly's 80s are tremendous. A very inspired album behind the other (at least until 1987), completely different albums. This song talks about his fury, locked up hating the Argentine football idiocy (it was the year of the World Cup) while kids died in Malvinas to save the wildest dictatorship in the history of the country, without wanting to see anyone.
So, the first Charly's Oficial band was "Suí Gèneris" (not "Serú Girán") since 1972 only counting the first album till 1975, then, in the climax they broke up and Charly forms "PorSuiGieco", a band of a few months that also had the opportunity to record an album called homonymously. In the same year, 1976, Charly form "La máquina de hacer pájaros" (The Bird Making Machine), the perfect transmutation between the first band and the next, wich is (Yes now) "Serú Girán". From folk rock to orchestral melodic rock, to lead to poprock as a soloist after the separation of Serú, in 1982.
From here the genres change and wrap each other hundreds of times.
Keep in mind, Spanish is an exquisitely laudable language for poetry. You try to recognize the messages that the lyrics hide between the words, also recognizing the sociocultural era of the country and the spirit of the people in that time. Because Charly's lyrics belongs to the people. I recommend, try Charly first, then Spinetta. Greetings and get lucky.

Antes de escuchar los temas tenés que buscar las letras y su traducción.
Más allá del genio musical que es Charly debe ser uno de los pocos músicos del mundo que tiene tantas letras propias y las letras le dan peso a los temas.
Las letras remiten a lo que pasaba en el país políticamente, el nos expresó en una época en que no se podía hablar.
"Canción de Alicia" en Serú Giran por ejemplo está llena de metáforas para eludir a la censura.
Rey de espadas (policía) Los brujos piensan en volver (una nefasta persona a la que llamaban "el brujito") etc
En éste video hay imágenes y sonido de dos recitales, no hacían play back en los conciertos.

You listened Tumbas de La Gloria some days before in a live from Fito. Garcia is his bigger influence, usings strings & composition. This is a very simple song. He used to apply a lot of chords & armonies. Because of that, his young son told him: why do u do so difficult songs? Thats why he made yendo de la cama al living. Cm Gm and D. And this is nowadays music of the future. Thks as always from Argentina!

For me, the electronic effect on Charly's voice tries to copy the sound of our voices when we speak indoors and when we are speaking by phone, for instance... it fits perfectly, it helps to describe "confinement" better....
