    David Attenborough is an acclaimed filmmaker, natural historian, and broadcaster. In the 1960s and 70s, he served as director of programming for the BBC and controller of BBC 2. He gained fame as a writer as well as a narrator and presenter of many nature documentaries and natural history programmes (such as "Life on Earth") and is an advocate for many environmental causes.
