I related to that people picked on me for how I never kissed anyone never had a crush never ‘talked’ and at college they would also say that I had to be gay because of this which made me question everything even though I new I wasn’t attracted to girls but then I wasn’t attracted to boys either so I was super confused then not long after I turned 18 I went from being a fan of brendon urie to being full on in love with him. I still not have any real lift love life it’s just not me I’m a very on my own person but it just makes be feel better
with the marriage thing- i can see myself eloping, but i just can’t see myself having a big wedding. like- it’s inordinately expensive, and i don’t see the appeal of exposing myself in that away?? i’d much rather have something more private and simple, because i see marriage as a much more functional and personal thing than a big ordeal?? idk it’s a complicated matter. maybe i’ll feel differently when i get closer to the time. also- proposals horrify me. i’d much rather just have a casual conversation about getting married than being put on the spot about that, because i’d be absolutely mortified- whether i wanted to say yes or no.
My ick advice it honestly it’s allllll about self confidence. Can’t talk for everyone but I often find if I got the ‘ick’ as soon as someone liked me it was just me not feeling comfortable or “deserving” of the attention. Once I became more comfortable and confident in myself it stopped feeling uncomfortable for someone to be attracted to me and I could focus on how I actually felt about someone.
It's so refreshing for me to hear someone else who has gone through stressful hair pulling (trichotillomania), because I really struggled with it when I was 13/14 and I've started doing it again now after a levels have been cancelled,and it shows because I pull out my eyebrow hairs so you can see that it's sparse in places. I love the way you talked about body hair - I feel exactly the same! Like I don't want it because society has conditioned me not to and to think it's ugly, but at the same time if I shave/wax it I just end up with razor burn and ingrown hairs, so I never know which way is best. I also have loads of scars on my legs from where I've picked at/tried to get out deep ingrown hairs and I hate them SO much, I think especially because no one EVER talks about that so I feel like I'm the only one. I always used to freak out when I actually came close to things maybe happening with people around me. There were even a couple of people that I was crazy about for a very long time who I knew really well who didn’t like me until later and when I suddenly had “a chance” I went from really liking them to just wanting to get out of there. And then I met my boyfriend. We met at this science competition that lasted a week and got really close but nothing actually happened and then we developed a long distance relationship over the next 2 months. When I left school at 18, 2 months later, I went to see him. I’ll never forget how absolutely terrified I was. I thought I was going to throw up. But I realised that there was a difference. It scared me so much that I wanted to run away but it did’t feel wrong. Every other time it had felt so wrong that everything switched off. I wasn’t attracted anymore. I felt scared and uncomfortable and sort of exposed in a bad way. But that time a wanted to runaway because I felt too much. Everyone is different but for me, the reason why I got that panicked feeling with everyone else was that I didn’t actually want to be with them. I just thought I did. And once I proved that I “could”, the illusion shattered. The one time I actually really wanted to be with him, it completely freaked me out but it didn’t feel wrong. And I could never even really picture myself in relationship, I just couldn’t see how that would realistically work for me. Here we are, 8 years later. Same guy. Very happy. There’s nothing wrong with you for not finding it easy to connect or form relationships or for not enjoying hook-ups. People connect on different levels and for different reasons and I couldn’t let anyone close to me like that until I suddenly could, and I never could have imagined it until I met him. People pressured me in my teens to date, and pressured me in my early twenties to date and not “settle down” so young. But you have to do you.

What I meant by “you have to do you” was do what feels right for you, regardless of what society or media or the people around you think you “should” be doing. Whether that’s having sex or not having sex or getting married or being single etc. No way is more valid. I find with CZcamsrs, especially studytubers and lifestyle CZcamsrs that they only show one side of their life, when they are happy and positive and don't really show when they do feel upset and in a bit of a rut. Obviously, I completely understand why they do that, to keep their private life to themselves and wanting to maintain their 'image or aesthetic' but it can be disguising. This whole experience has been the shittest time for me I have never felt so stupid in my life. Everything that could go wrong has. I had a mental health diagnosis and got book for cbt which got cancelled due to quarantine, I've have finished first year having made no friends because of how shy I am making every struggle I face worse as I have no one to talk to and due to my grade I doubt I'm ever going to get a job I'm just fucking spiraling and want to find a way to turn it around in second and third year.
