SOME PEOPLE ARE BEING.. WRONG SO:
1. somebody said i’m supposed to take testosterone every 8 days... no.... i’m not... i’m on sustanon... sustanon should be administered every 2-4 weeks depending on how your body reacts to it. different places have different types of T, they work differently
2. somebody said the shots aren’t supposed to hurt but... you’re injecting a needle deep into a muscle.. it’s gonna hurt.. my shots are intramuscular, usually subcutaneous (fat) shots don’t hurt.
For the symptoms of low T, you could switch to Nebido. It's long acting, and most people get it every 12 weeks. T levels tend to be much more stable on Nebido than short-acting injections, and obviously you experience fewer lows. Unfortunately it is also usually more painful, because you are injecting (or a nurse, usually) 4 ml into your bum rather than the usual 1 ml for Sustanon

Everybody's bodies react differently to T shots. I was on a 12 week dose, now it's been changed to 11 weeks cause I went a week before my next shot feeling tired and depressed. Pretty much how you explained in the video. It's was like I don't wanna fucking live then after my shot I was fine.
I get my shot in my glute and at times it can hurt. I've got the lump and sometimes they can hit a blood vessel and I'll be in pain for 2 weeks. Getting the shot in your arse hurts less than getting the shot in your thigh though, and even less when you're getting it lying down.
People just need to stop thinking there's one right way T shots should be administered.
@@jeromeabalone6000 My Reandron shots are like that and I still get the lows. Bum injections are actually less painful than thigh injections. I'm not one to just take my pants off for strangers. I do it because it's less painful.

My GP wouldn't prescribe me, either, so my mum hand wrote a three page letter and took it into the practice and got in touch with the practice manager and brought up how the GP we saw two years before said he'd prescribe me. Three days later I got my prescription. Bless my mum.

How to avoid t shot pain in leg: sit with your leg flat on a surface, don't flex it or dangle it. Make your leg look as fat as possible basically lol. And put the needle in quick and take it out quick as well. Standing or sitting with only your butt on a surface makes pain happen

I'm a closeted ftm. I rlly want T (for obvious reasons) but... I'm also scared SHITLESS of needles. Getting shots so often will be hell for me. All I hope is that getting T (when I do) will help me get over that fear...
Idk if you are still in this mental situation, but I've had similar concerns. Was battling a panic attack on the way to my first covid vaccine, and worrying off and on for a few months leading up to a blood test at the start of my HRT journey (not on T quite yet, but likely very soon). Both instances felt like practically nothing at all, and now any anxiety about either has completely evaporated. I only hit that oh yeah whatever mindset after getting the shot/blood draw. So idk if this is helpful whatsoever, but if you can trust in that the second after you get the first shot you will almost certainly realize there was nothing to worry about (that's my bet), just like trust that there is logically nothing to worry about, and see if you can postpone worrying about things until the last possible time (because worry doesnt help lmao, and if you're like me then worrying early won't make you worry any less later), maybe things will be less shitty

Shot tips if you haven't tried these:
1) you should be able to get your hormone doctor to change your dosage so you can get half as much twice as often for example, which can help with the T dip, also my doctor switched me to nebido last year due to the Sustanon shortage, it stays in your body longer so you don't have to have a shot as often.
2) try doing your shot in your arse, it's a lot less painful

This last part is so important!! Ive been on T for almost 2 years and im still not happy with my voice/ facial features and it always seems like people on the internet dont have that problem at all and no one is talking about this!
I’ve been on T for like 3.5 years and I’m still not completely happy with my voice and facial changes either. If you want a deeper voice tho, I’d do voice training to see if it helps. That’s what I’ve been doing for months now and I can tell a difference. Some people have to train themselves to speak in a lower tone cause we just don’t have as much time to get used to it as cis guys do since it drops quicker. But changes happen even after like 7 years so I guess we just have to keep going and see
I don't think I could wait 3 years, Jesus... I'm not sure about it as a whole, but thank god I was able to go through informed consent.

I know this video is older but in case this helps anyone: if you're terrified of needles or don't think you can do the shots for any other reason, there *are* other options! In the US at least, you can do testosterone gel that you apply topically. I think it's a bit more expensive than shots iirc, and it works more slowly, but it means you're getting a consistent stream of testosterone instead of with the shots b/c you're taking it daily instead of every few weeks.

You know what's worse than not having your voice dropping?Having your voice finally dropping and from that moment on you're not able to scream or sing anymore! I like to sing *VERY MUCH* and I've always been good without really needing to practice...now not only I became tonedeaf and unable to imitate voices like I used to do,but everytime I raise my voice while speaking even just a little bit or for a little period of time my throat immediately starts to hurt and then it keeps hurting for hours or even DAYS!!!X-((( I literally feel like Ariel who got her legs having to give up her wonderful voice. *IT SUCKS!!!*
ik i'm late but t doesn't really make you tonedeaf, maybe you're just not used to singing in a lower registry. it takes some time to get used to singing in a deeper voice, but it's definitely possible.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about emotional changes. I guess you don't get them as bad as I do. I do have bipolar and my docs were all worried about me starting T. I got really really impulsive, quick to anger and just ranty. I could not control my emotions. I seem to be doing better now.

I was amazed when I found out about your transgender journey. I couldn't believe that you were born female. Nothing about you seems that way. You are a very handsome young man. My 14 ur old daughter recently lost a friend who committed suicide because of the treatment he received, because he was gay. Thank you for the information, and honesty that you send out into the world. My hope is that people will become more educated, and hopefully, will change their narrow minded ways. And that they will realize the damage that they do by judging, and bullying the people who we're born different. And if after all of that, if they still want to judgmental to those who are different, well...they can just go fuck themselves, lol...shit and fall in it.. 0:45 I'm a cis man on TRT and had this problem (idk how I ended up here, I was watching videos on how the three mile island disaster happened and got here through related). You need to switch esters to one with a longer half life or decrease time between doses (and decrease your dosage to make it the same obviously). But since you're already taking it every 3 weeks, you're likely already on an ester with a very long half life. Ask your doctor about having weekly/fortnightly injections, if you go to once every week you obviously drop your dose to 1/3, but you'll still be getting the same amount of T.

So, I've heard from a lot of people online that they couldn't even hold a note without their voice cracking. How was that experience for you? I'm a choir student and am about to go to college for voice (and a few other things)
I'm also a choir singer and I think I've gone through most of voice change and ngl it's a bit annoying. But every teenage boy basically goes through it and after like 4 months on T my voice was a bit more settled. During like the second and third month I had a sore throat and a lot of voice cracks, but it gets better.
Agreed. I’m pretty much able to sing normally now and I’m 11 months on T. I haven’t lost vocal range note wise but the technique and what is and isn’t comfortable is vastly different.
I’m day 6 on my T shot and I feel horrible migraines. I also asked to my dr and she said I did too much for my first shot (because I read the syringe wrong). I think I’ll feel better once my body gets used to everything.
Also wow. I’m in the US, CA and I basically just went to a transgender clinic and talked to my doctor. She asked me if I wanted to start and I was like I’m not sure and then a few months later I started. It was pretty easy. But man the UK sounds hard! The only thing that takes long here sometimes is the doctor doesn’t have an appointment for a few months and after you schedule an appointment you’re pretty much good to go.
