Helen-do you a great job of giving us the history of your dishes and origins. I can't wait to try your recipes as I grew up in America and have not had the chance to try these authentic dishes! Thank you! Please continue to post more videos.
Hi Helen, I've watched almost all of your videos and I must say one of the things I really like is how you incorporated the video of the local food shops/vendors in Vietnam into your own video. It is always nice to see the culture and people around the world and how they made these wonderful food you are sharing. Thanks again for having this feature.

Banh Khot is one of my favourite dishes! I even went to that place in Vung Tau, when I came back to Australia tried to make it myself it didnt work very well. After watching this I think I know what I did wrong. Thank you for this recipe!
I ate Banh Khot at the store that Helen showed in the video 0:31 when I was at Vung Tau. It was delicious.

OMG! This looks so good!!! Love Banh can!
Helen, thank you so much for sharing these wonderful videos. I can't wait to travel to Vietnam now! Plus, you've introduced me to dishes I've never tried before and made it so simple where I think I can try this at home. Thanks for doing such a great job and for sharing your love of food and culture. :)

I love how you show they cook it in Vietnam and I love your recipes and how to its very helpful and delicious!
Great job. Delicious learning!
just had them in da nang, a very lovely dish, will have more soon
Hot dang! I once visited Vung Tau and stayed at my friend's aunt's house for a night. She drove us to this exact place and I tell ya, we probably destroyed a fair share of their food stock (lol). We kept eating for like 2,3 hours and the food never stopped coming.
1 thing i remember is that the place opened quite early in the morning and closed just as early way before noon. That was why the auntie woke us up so early....
I gotta come to this place again when I visit VN this year. My dad says he knows this place so I don't have to worry about that. :)
Btw, good vid, Helen's Recipes (Vietnamese Food) . Always expect your vids.
I just got his pan. I cannot wait to try making it!
Thanks gor the recipe. I'll make sure I post a picture of my banh khot on your Facebook soon. I found a cast iron pan at a flea market and I'm so excited about making my own. I've been eating them from the Asian market for years now, I really love them.
You're welcome! We're thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe and can't wait to see your creation on Facebook. It's great to hear that you're venturing into making your own banh khot using a cast iron pan - we're sure it'll turn out amazing. Happy cooking!

Your welcome!
Yes, her recipes are very good and healthy i tthink ;)
Hi Helen. I've been using your recipes for a long time now. Thank you for making me more confident in my cooking. I have one question for you. When they fry the Banh Khot twice, what is the difference between the two pans? Is it temperature of oil? I assume there has to be a difference, otherwise why wouldn't you just leave it in the same pan.
My family is originally from Ba Ria and I've been back many times. Thank you for making me feel at home with this video :)
Hi Helen
Can u please share on how to prepare the Flour Mixture of Bhan Khot.as I'm unable to get the ready made That Flour Mixture Pack..Thanks🙏🙏🙏
Hi Helen! I would like to give this recipe a try... Can I make pancakes in a muffin pan in the oven? I can only use what I have, and I unfortunately I don't have the pan you advised in the video
Cám ơn Helen nhiều
It used to had green beans or lentil bean. Very easy to digest and nutritional plus palm fruit juice extract and some place had the grind dried or roast shrimps and fried oinon
Thank you
Look yummy
Oh can u do a vid on banh thuan....i cant seem to find a recipe for it and dying to have some but might have to bake them in the oven since there is no way i could find its special pan and char coal stove it bake it in....its been over 10yrs since the last time i had it. Thanks
I really appreciate it that you explain what the thing is before you show how to make it. It makes all the difference to the idiots like me who have no idea where to start :-) Thanks
love it ...
I've been in that restaurant it was awesome
In the lower south of Vietnam people don't add too much cooking oil that way. Actually, we use a pork grease to smooth the pan holes because frying with too much oil causes us faster tired. But their way can't make the pan cakes crispy, it's soft, I think I love this style.
Keep up the good work, Helen :)
soooo hungry!!! banh khot is my faveeeee
You're my new favorite person :)
I've been waiting forever for this recipe!!! :)
Hope it worths the wait :)
I went to that place for that dish few years ago I ate six plates they were so good even thought it was like 90 degrees out. It was so good!
6 plates? wow that's a lot ^^
Thats look really tasty...
I visited my family in vung tao for the first time in February it was cool
Hi Helen, can I use the same batter as Banh Xeo for Banh Khot? Thanks
Takoyaki pan! Awesome to see it has other uses lol
can you tell us how to do the orange powder to springkle the banh khot
This looks soooooo good! I want to eat this now D: lol
Fascinating video Helen and the best it is gluten free (when leaving the beer out)
Thank you so much for sharing with us. I might just have to buy that cast iron form.
Have a pleasant weekend
Thanks for the recipe Helen! Do you live in Vietnam?
love your new look with short hair!! ^^
double frying explaining: The first time you fry, the outside may be dry but some of the moisture inside the secondary layer of coating migrates to the outside layer, so when you fry it again, you eliminate more moisture to get that extra-crispy crust.
I LOOOOVE BANH KHOTTTTTT!~~~ aiyaaaa >.
Great video, like how you first shot a vlog on the market and then the recipe.
Just a question on the double frying.
Why is it done instead of just leaving it longer?
Maybe so you get new hot oil when you transfer it to another pan?
The first time you fry, the outside may be dry but some of the moisture inside the secondary layer of coating migrates to the outside layer, so when you fry it again, you eliminate more moisture to get that extra-crispy crust.
wow i am so hungry now !
Helen where do you get your pan from it is different from the link that you give, is it from the Vietnamese store in your country?
Can you link your pan you’re using? Thank you! 💗

Nhìn thèm chảy nước miếng chị ơi, mà ko biết mua cái khuôn đó ở đâu? :(
Hello! What kind of sauce do you dip in?
Ich liebe deine Videos :)
mình thay bột nở bằng muối nở đc ko chị
can you use banh xeo batter mix for this? i love banh xeo and even made it last night for dinner :D
The dutch also have little pancakes called poffertjes. in holland you can get the pans sometimes at supermarkets or other stores that have cooking things (wiebra, xenos..). i have one thats cast iorn that was only 5 or 6 Euros.
yes you can use banh xeo batter mix, too
What is this orange topping in banh khot
hum...yummy
Im salivating ahh noo:)
Hey, I been there before. In fact, for every time I go back to VN, I go there more than 20 times!
I go there every time I go to Vung Tau.
Roughly with this recipe how many banh khot does this make? This looks delicious. I haven't had this 10+ years.
abt 50-60pcs
yummy
