I think it's such a nice touch that you can tell by the way Webber talks that this is not just some Monster, but a kid. No Monster in its right mind would spout phrases like "Splishy Splashy" XD I smile every time you read that out loud though, Volx!
historically, carrots were a finite resource, and thus, it was often a goal of mine, to avoid using them, so that they are there for emergencies, or just...for the sense of accomplishment, of not needing to pillage the landscape to survive. interesting tidbit of knowledge, the whole spider befriending thing. it almost makes sense to have SOMETHING aggro a huge spider nest, to get them riled up, and then try to befriend a huge knot of them, since it's almost like the feeding offers an AoE aspect? worth exploring.
I've never really struggled with sanity. Then again... I usually have 18-24 drying racks. That, and I befriend pigs to help chop trees for wood, and gain lots of sanity from that in combination with my jerky food supply. I'll definitely keep a Tam o' Shanter & Dapper Vest in a chest just in case I ever need it, but a simple night in a tent would do too... which I rarely ever need to do anyways.
According to the Wiki on Don't Starve carrots do not respawn. Like you though, I question whether this is the case or not. There always seems to be carrots available even after you clear an area of them. Enjoying the series, Sir! Looking forward to summer survival. Thank you for uploading!
+Robert Johnson I would love for carrots to be a chance to spawn in lieu of a flower. so get some bees in an area and they're spamming it with flowers, and every so often...CARROTS! wouldn't that be awesome?
