  • Latency Test Re match, Radiolink RC8X, Flysky NB4 and Sanwa MT-44
    Sorry for some misspelled wordings and grammars in this video.
    This upload video is my personal experience with Radiolink RC8X, it might not be the same outcome or results to other users, if you are having the same issues, at least you are not alone.
    Flysky NB4 and Sanwa MT-44 are set to factory setting, (Sanwa SSR are not active)
    My online ordered just arrived, R8FG V2.1 the newest receiver from Radiolink, it's time to re-test it, this new receiver now FHHS Version 2 protocol, after several testing, it a big improvement compared to the previous Version 1 R8FG, but i still feel the RC8X sluggish and slower compared to the flysky NB4, the clear winner in speed will be the Sanwa Mt-44, there a section in this video real time recording (not slow motion)RC8X vs NB-44 with my touring car the radiolink obviously much slower.
    if you are into competitive, drag racing drifting and off road and on racing, even smaller advantage in RC responses and quickness is a big difference in drivers' performance.
    Regarding signal block, after updating the RC8x firmware to 1.1.5, significantly reduced signal block to version 1 receivers, but version 2.1 seems to be more sensitive to signal block, frequently disconnecting to locked receiver, there so much instant that signal block happen when i am not recording, that is why I still think the signal block improvement still unpredictable.
    I have few minored glitches, throttle display erratic level, also during power on my Hobbywing ESC XR10 just stock, throttle twitches.
    RC8X has a big colorful screen that make power consumptions not efficient, getting high capacity lipo battery is a must if you have plan to use it for several hour, battery need to be externally charged (no built-in charging).
    Rc8X is pretty capable transmitter, there are several features that make this a good radio, longer range, FPV, superior info display, cheaper receivers, included 8 channel receivers, many mixing features, functions and unique settings.
    Radiolink need to bundle optional includes smaller receivers for competitive racers minimum FHHS V2 protocol and R8FG Version 2.1.
    It's all about personal preferences, for me, I am more for Flysky NB4, for me that the best value $200 USD RC radio in the market today, you get two 4 receivers that are very capable for most hobbies in to car radio control, and the functions and performance are more suited for my needs.

    Love seeing these tests. Glad I have used sanwa for over a decade and have always had the fastest radio available, never had a radio failure, issues, or complaints other than cost.

    What firmware on the NB4 are you using? What RX on the NB4? Are you in 2 way or 1 way mode?
    As far as the RC8x the receiver wire just coil them up and put a little heatshrink on it and just keep the end exposed. One in front one in rear. Keeping the ends from touching metal or Carbon.

      Test in this video, the NB4 was set to 2way mode ( many are saying 1 way mode will be faster), older firmware 2.0.93, receiver FGR4. Thanks for the tips (rc8x receiver antennas)

    I don't remember hearing you mention it in the video; but you did go into the receiver settings, select the new type and set the latency to 3ms (from the default 14ms) ?

      At the very beginning of this video (0.17 seconds) the servo speed set 3ms set Fhss V2.

    Hi I’m looking for some drift wheels for a 1/10 scale drift truck but it has rubber wheels. Do you have any suggestions from where to get them and what wheels?

    • @oliverstoys8411
      @oliverstoys8411  Před 7 měsíci

      For drift wheels with 12mm hex, mst and ds racing offer adjustable offsets, for fix offset mst, yokomo, ds racing, reve d, for tires yokomo (Dra asphalt) (drc Tiles), ds racing, reveD (as-01 for tiles), it really depends on the surface you are drifting on. Most common rc drift build need to be rwd for easy Maneuvering corners.

    Is there anyway to do an rx8c re test with the latest firmware? Doesn't need to be a video, just a response on of its fixed or not.
    I've been waiting to get one until I know it's fast, and I know they've been working on it, and released firmware in November

      just installed the latest 1.2.0 firmware, did the same test with the same esc, and high-speed servo (Radiolink transmitter set to 3ms, with radiolink latest receiver), unfortunately, I don't feel any changes with the speed and response compared to this video I upload earlier. @@ExaltedRC

    looks like the NB was faster than Radiolink? But should be the same?

    • @oliverstoys8411
      @oliverstoys8411  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The NB4 is very responsive and quicker compare to the RC8x, radiolink feels sluggish and slow, i barely use it, for me I don’t feel confident using it, that’s my opinion. It’s not that bad, some like do the radiolink, it’s really down to personal preference.

      @fdderi I love the sanwa mt5 radios. It currently have the most updated FHHS protocol (fast), but the only negative about the radio expensive receivers and limited channels, the good thing about it, has 3rd partly micro receivers which are cheaper for sanwa, perfect for small drift rc, good luck with your project, and thanks again.

    Did you ever exchange the RC8 for another one? You did a video about it not working right. Cause if not, then it's probably delaying due to it being a factory defect.
    Another thing is my RC4GS is just as fast as any of these in the video. Try the R6F receiver. It's faster cause it's not bogged down trying to run all tjose features you're not using...

      I do not have another unit to do another test, the early release r8fg version 1.0 has a response time of 14ms (release before Feb 6 2023)which has identical speed with the older radio from radiolink, i do have r6fg but still have the version 1.3 which also have the maximum 14ms latency, radiolink release a updated receiver r8fg version 2.1 which I acquired and done some test in this video, now set to 3ms and updated firmware nov 2023, rc8x does improved a little but not as good compare to flysky nb4 and sanwa MT44, in regards to signal block, the two antennas of the r8fg give a long performance in range, but not suitable for indoor 1/10 or smaller rc, if you are close enough you get signal block or blind spot.
      You can check out Radiolink youtube channel explaining there signal block issues and also on there website explaining older version r8FG v1.0, (website rc8x directory under firmware) if you have any receiver with 1.3 version or lower the max latency 14ms.
      There several well known youtube influencers (endorser) who got the radio for free, after few months, they stop using the radio because slow responses, some of them commented “ i don’t feel connected with the car using this radio”, if your intention is just to enjoy your rc cars, none competitive racing the rc8x should do job.

      @@mrpotatoheadracing I am glad you are ok with the performance of your radio, even the manufacture claim to be faster 3ms doesn’t mean it’s going to performance what it say, unless you where able to compare it with other high performance brands out there, I just saying even with the newest November 2023 firmware and the new 2.1 receiver, to my opinion the RC8X still slower and very sluggish compare to the nb4 standard setting (not even the one way fast mode) and older mt44 transmitter, as long you are not doing any competitive racing you are good, and the end of the day if you are happy with what you are using and satisfied with the performance that all that matters 👍🏻.
