- Mineral SPF can get expensive especially if you're looking for cosmetically elegant formulas for dark skin. But I rounded up some mineral SPF from Target under $25 and found some that are nice for dark skin and others that just---aren't.

Another day, another battle to find mineral sunscreen that won't make you look ashy 😌
🤣🤣💯 hey boo!!! Happy Sunday 😘
Sighhhhh
You suggested the Cotz Flawless Complexion SPF 50, and I've been loving it. ❤️❤️
Cotz, but it's $25.
It's mineral and didn't burn my eyes. I only use it on my eyes because I'm poor. You should use it all over though because chemical sunscreens aggravate acne apparently. Cotz completely disappeared on me.
I guess I am quite off topic but does anyone know a good site to stream newly released series online?
You are a much needed voice in the skincare/beauty community
Thank youuuu so much ❤️❤️❤️
I always appreciate these . No woc on CZcams does consistent sunscreen trials.
Danielle you're the GOAT with these sunscreen and skincare videos!!! You have made me take the time to watch on my computer so I can actually comment your videos. I learn so much and I tell all my friends.
Aww thanks!!! I really appreciate that ❤️❤️😘
That was me that asked about the Honest Beauty cc cream. Thank you for testing this out! I tried the CoTZ flawless complexion based on your previous video and I love it.
Heyyy Amanda! You got me trigged lol! But glad I tried it to help you all to avoid it if it’s not a good color match 😭 Yes the Cotz was niiice-glad it worked for you 🙌🏿
I'm always here for the mineral sunscreen videos! Thank you for all your hard work ☺️
Thank youuuu
Me too!
Hey Boo, you got me so hyped over here. Gonna watch you on my phone while I pick up some of your IG/Walmart goodies on the computer. ❤️❤️😘🛍
Haha heyyyy, boo 😘😘
The Unsun blended the best on your skin per lighting and camera. I just discovered your channel. I have always wanted to wear sunscreen but my early experiences were really bad. I tried sunscreens that caused a sore painful rash. It burned my skin causing hypersensitivity and hypopigmentation (white blotches). Each time it took 5-6 months for my skin to heal.
These were some... interesting applications lol. I really have yet to find a CC or tinted sunscreen that I find cosmetically elegant or actually does the job of really minimizing the white casts of the sunscreens. Plus the tints are usually so cool tone!
Have you tried the Cocokind sunscreen yet? It was a shockingly great experience and I’ve seen a lot of success with dark and deep skin tones.
Hey boo! Omg the tints are sooooo cool toned 😩 I haven’t tried Cocokind yet-will add it to my list 🙌🏿❤️❤️
Wow!! You are stunning!! And have such gorgeous skin!!! Thnx for the info!!😉
Thank youuu!!!
I used the bare republic one for a while and I found that mixing it with my tinted cerave sunscreen helped the pilling, since the cerave one is hydrating (and a little greasy) I also learned how much I had to work it in before the pilling started.
I love your SPF videos! It's such a challenge trying to find a good mineral sunscreen that doesn't leave a garish cast. I prefer mineral SPF because I have sensitive and acneic skin. But with needing to wear masks all of the time, the cast isn't *so* noticeable because half my face is covered lol!
Ohhhh that’s a good coincidental hack lol! Thank youuu for watching ❤️❤️❤️
Your skin is FLAWLESS❤
Thank youuu!
It’s the timing for me, whew helllo self care Sunday ! Puff on fleek, skin on sleek okayyyy 💜
Heyyyyy Brii!!!!! Thank you!!! How ya doin, boo?
@@styleandbeautydoctor you’re welcome hub ! I’m doing good, hope you’re doing good as well !
I’m good-about to put some makeup on and film lol
@@styleandbeautydoctor okayyyy content queen 💪🏽
I am currently using the bare republic mineral face gel sunscreen. I quickly learned that when using it I have to apply a very small amount and layer it or else it will take a really long time to rub in. Also I noticed that if I don’t rub it in really well, it can leave a little casting and I experienced the peeling as well. I purchased mine at Walmart. It was originally priced $15, but I got it on clearance for $5. Thank you for your review on this ❤️
Wow $5!!! Hopefully they figure out the pilling. ❤️❤️
The extremely affordable, TINTED, broad spectrum, 100% MINERAL sunscreen lotion crafted by C'est Moi is great. It comes in only 4 shades (unfortunately), but it's dark skin friendly 😍. I use the shade Cocoa and it blends really well with my skin tone; It's practically invisible on my skin. It might not be suitable for all shades of color, but it might be just what some of us Melanin-rich people need...$16 for 30mL/1 fl. oz.
Been loving Mychelles Tinted Liquid SPF50!! It is also mineral. Tbh I bought both to mix the light and medium/dark one. Got it at my local Sprouts! BTW your skin is so glorious
Thank you!!! I tried the Mychelle in another video: czcams.com/video/Im5EY90dddE/video.html. I wish they made a deeper shade than the natural tan.
You should try the raw elements tinted moisturizer SPF 30 - also in a body butter consistency. Ingredients list is very short and is under $20! I’ve seen a lot of reviews from some ppl w deep and richer skin and say it blends out beautifully.
Thanks, lovely! This is very very useful. Sunscreen is still a non-stop struggle. I have sensitive skin and both chemical and physical sunscreen irritates my skin. So unlucky. Maybe when you get the chance to invite Dermatologists like Dr. Alexis, ask for me for any remedy. Thank you.
I tried the La Roche-Posay mineral sunscreen you recommended because I ran out of my Elta MD & I was looking for one I could purchase at Ulta. Love it so far.
Yassss 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
THANK YOU for trying mineral sunscreens for darker skin. I ruined my skin a few years ago overexfoliating, and it has been temperamental ever since, so I can only really wear mineral sunscreens.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
@@styleandbeautydoctor Absolutely. Thank you for keeping me less ashy one sunscreen review at a time.
You saved me from buying the Honest Beauty CC Cream. :) I've used the Unsun and Babo sunscreens and both were super cast-y on me. The texture of the Unsun for me was so heavy as well. My mom told me to never wear it again when she saw me with it on, hahaha. And I gave the Babo to my boyfriend, who is closer to the color of a wall ~ no cast on him, lol.
I am cracking up at your mom saying to never wear it again because that sounds like something my mom would say 🤣
The Honest beauty was so, so bad. It came in the mail when I was recovering from surgery, and my very first outing was to take it back to Ulta.
@@courtran omg 😫🤣🤣🤣🤣
Heyyy beautiful people! Timestamps and a quick note!
This is my last mineral sunscreen trial video for 2020. I’ll resume with more trials in 2021 but look out for a video on my fave mineral sunscreens I’ve tried in 2020 in a few weeks. Check out my mineral sunscreen for darker skin playlist because I’ve already tried tons:

I just bought the mojave shade from honest beauty, I cant wait until it comes.
let us know how it goes!
Sis thanks for reviewing this ❤️
I don’t know why 🤷🏾♀️but I got the purito comfy just a week ago because of your review and it gives me a white cast although I apply a tiny amount of the product. Why tho? 😢😢😢😢
I have light skin, and some mineral sunscreens look too white on me! I do have two that work, Babu Botanicals is a good one. Bare Republic SPF 50 sheer zinc is scary at first…but once you rub it in and it sets, it’s clear. I don’t care for the scent at all, though.
The struggle is so real for a good mineral sunscreen for POC. 😩 I’m a new subscriber and these videos are so helpful. I’m currently waiting for Countersun Daily Sheer Defense to arrive after EleVen serum by Venus failed me.
Welcome to my channel! Ughhh the Venus one wasn’t good?!?! 😩😩😩
@@styleandbeautydoctor lots of pilling; must use a moisturizer underneath to attempt to blend in and the blend still was not seamless; feels a bit grainy going on. The other one by her might be better. 😩
@@fefemyluv aww man! If it’s any help, I almost always wear moisturizer under my sunscreen. I tend to like “straight up” sunscreens vs moisturizers with sunscreen because I get more versatility as the weather changes through the year.
@@styleandbeautydoctor that does help! I’ve always been concerned about sunscreens that require a moisturizer to go on top/under. So, that method doesn’t “dilute” the sunscreen?
@@fefemyluv moisturizer goes UNDER your sunscreen and it’s not being diluted because you apply the moisturizer first and then apply the sunscreen.
I tried Unsun I wanted to love it but I have dry skin and the matte finish and the cast were too much. I use Cleen Beauty mineral spf 30 moisturizer now. No cast and it's a nicer finish for me. It's at Walmart for $10 and it works
I want Unsun to give us more 😩 Ohhh I have to check out the Cleen Beauty!
After watching your sunscreen videos, I purchased the Replenix tinted suncreen. I was very happy with the purchase. Unfortunately I'm unable to find them in stock now. I'm guessing bc of your video, people have been taking your advice.
Replenix makes some of the best mineral sunscreens I’ve tried yet! Did you check Amazon? That’s where I got mine ❤️❤️
@@styleandbeautydoctor I agree. Yes ma'am. I've checked every website possible.
I was going to purchase the Isdin sunscreen but remembered it product has fragrance. 😏
@@kec01bla dang! Replenix is on IG-maybe message them and ask them why they’re hoarding the mineral sunscreen lol.
About the pilling, i noticed the purito comfy water block to do that to me and it was recent too. Didn't really have an issue with it before. But i just started using some Ordinary products like the azelaic acid, argireline solution, niacinamide and hyaluronic acids so it could be as you said; it doesnt work well with products with a particular texture. And I can't wait a minute per serum and sunscreen application so...
People wind up having pilling issues with some of The Ordinary products so yeah lol. I have particularly heard about compatibility issues with the TO niacinamide.
@@styleandbeautydoctor i mean i know about the complaint of the slight foaming issue upon application because I noticed it too but it never bothered me. If what you're saying is true i might stop using it after I finish my current bottle (bought the big one). I mean niacinamide and hyaluronic acid are in pretty much everything (moisturizer, sunscreen, etc.) anyway so...🤷🏿♀️
@@nancykerrigan Most of what I heard was the pilling after using other products on top of it. If you use something water based after then you should be fine. But I feel you with the last part lol
Can you review the bear republics mineral sunscreen spray in SPF 30? I have the citrus cooler fragrance in and I got it from Marshall’s for six dollars
Love this boo!
Thanks, Milly 😘😘😘
I have a simple routine, and the Barr republic pills terribly. I’m going to try to pat it in next time
Can you do mineral sunscreen that are also water proof ?
For the unsun sunscreen did you use the universal tint colour or the medium/dark tint
I need one for sensitive skin.
I saw you reviewed the Replenix Mineral sunscreen spray awhile ago, do you use it at all? I’m thinking of buying it.
That spray is nice! I couldn’t possibly regularly use all of the sunscreens I review though lol.
Have you tried Skinceuticals? I had one from them that looked great but ended up breaking me out so I couldn’t keep using it.
I’ve tried a couple of these and while they didn’t work for various reasons, I didn’t find the caste to be as bad as what you’re experiencing. Don’t know if because I’m a little lighter, they way they interacted with my skincare or because I’m not under bright lights for filming.
It’s likely the difference in skin tone and/or undertone. I film in natural light so there aren’t any bright lights on me.
See, I prefer to watch your videos earlier in the day because I’m really sitting here dying of laughter because you made air quotes with three fingers😂😂😂💀. This day really took me out
How is that so funny though? My pinky just happened to be up
@@styleandbeautydoctor that’s the thing, I watched the video at the end of a long day and I was super delirious so everything made me cackle like a mad woman. I gotta not watch things when I’m a mess
Can you try the Pipette Sunscreen, you can also get from target, I would love to see it on how it looks on brown skin.
Heyyy! I’m passing on Pipette-they had a video on their IG showing people with deeper skin tones trying the teeniest amount and it still looked ashy in the video lol. But Dr Alexis Stephens has a video on it on her channel-if I remember correctly, she likes it.
It’s pretty ashy, runny and “oily feeling”. I would say it would work if you have light brown skin, but I saw this CZcamsr with skin much lighter than Dr Alexis Stephens who tried it and it was ashy on them...
I’ve tried it myself up to 3 times, applying it in layers as I usually do with mineral sunscreens, and I still didn’t like it. It looked better on my body, though.
@@tosinolorunsola711 you know what-I knew it lol! Thanks for the input 🙌🏿❤️❤️
CAN'T THANK YOU ENUFF!!!!!👋😉
❤️❤️❤️🙌🏿
i spend nights and days looking for an affordable sunscreen that wont leave a cast and half the CZcamsrs I watch that are black are lighter then me so even if they get no white cast I still might its honestly just stressful all I want is a mineral sunscreen that fights hyperpigmentation won't leave a white cast and wont cost me my great unborn grandson
I have a travel size of Paula's Choice glow mineral SPF 30 and it doesn't leave a cast on me. It's probably a little more "glowy" (aka shiny) than I'd want but at least it doesn't suck the life out of my dry face lol
Haha!
Is it nano sunscreen?
@@sunainamunjal3390 I'm not sure. It doesn't specify. I'm thinking it probably is nano though.
Thanks dear
Girl! Please tell me what you're wearing on your lip and cheeks!
This video was soooo long ago, I don’t remember. Likely Natasha Denona Blush & Bloom cheek palette but I definitely don’t remember the lips.
I’m having a hard time finding the video you mentioned in the video about iron oxides? 😩
It’s in the description box ❤️❤️
I’m trying to find a moisturizer that has mineral spf and it seems to be impossible /:
They are out there-I’ve reviewed a bunch in my mineral sunscreens for darker skin playlist and one very recently on one from Olay. Keep looking through my videos ❤️❤️
