I love watching and hearing Phil on a 6 string bass. Warren is my favorite “dedicated” musician from outside the original band, and Carlos something to add to the magic. Great version of Fire on the Mountain.
80 year old fuckin bass monster. Its crazy the amount of movement and energy phil can play with at this age
Warren, The best in the world, not only performance but humanity
I would NEVER take anything away from Carlos or the Dead but Warren is 1 of the greatest guitar players/musician ever. If he gives you a 4 hour live show he is in a hurry to get to another show that night. He loves what he does and is a master in the same category as Jerry and Carlos.
Yes! It’s really bums me out he hardly plays the PNW! I’ll see the mule one day
And he can sing like a mo fo
Hardest working man in Music!
This song really showcased Carlos' immense talent. It was the only time I've ever been able to see him live. He is everything I hoped for and more! I was front row (not in the pit with the VIPs like John Kadlecik LOL) but right on the rail, nonetheless, and Barry Sless was who I was most impressed with, along with how much room Santana left for him. It was one of the greatest nights of music ever! (~);-)
Members of 3 of my all favorite bands..Grateful Dead..SANTANA..and Allman Brothers!!
I’m with you!!
Love
Add TTB and it's my 4 favorites.
Me too
@@johnrf4676 With Gov't Mule as a two-fer bonus
That bass tone is simply massive
Molo is absolutely the best Friend drummer, bar none. Phil and him are SOLID GOLD together.
Thx for sharing the music today and today firing the mountin fire on the mountain
What's going on? Where is the director of traffic?
We are so lucky to have all this great music. Phil and Friends. Dead and Company, Billy String, and to top it off. What Bob Weir and Wolfe are doing is really amazing. And JRAD and so many others. Can't get enough.
Can't go wrong with this lineup!!
I've loved Carlos's work+attitude as much as every other most favorite musician I've heard
he showed me why again here; but he usually does.
Warren Haynes just keeps growing on me every time I see him. Never flashy; just deliciously soulful+kind and
as versatile as anyone out there that I'm aware of. Govt Mule has been my go to more than any other this past year.
Not many can rage away on a guitar to the point I just break out laughing aloud, but Carlos just did.
I couldn't possibly thank these musicians, meaning all the players here, enough for the healing joy+sanity they gave
My favorite living bass player, my favorite guitarist, and fantastic Carlos. This is my morning. Thank you!!
Sounds like Greatfuldead music and Allman brothers and Santana too so much fun mr lesh and friends oh yah i remember the songs wave too the wind if the shoe fits and broken arrow Phil of course the Greatfuldead
I am infinitely GRATEFUL this music found me. life changing
what a great reply!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!
Phill plays that bass like an guitar player who plays lead guitar he’s so good unreal he can pull the guts rite out of u if u r close enough which I’ve been c what I mean wow never anyone that good
Great music and love the dancing monkey
Imagine if the GD had both Jerry and Carlos in the band, the concerts would have been 8 hours long-and nobody would have complained :)
And Warren
@@mauallen4234 Seriously! We can't leave Mr. Haynes out of the mix.
Santana did sit in with them on rare tour appearances... a BirdSong in Mile High stadium once in the early 90s.
we are going to see warren on a farm in conn in 2 weeks. the tickets sold out in 10 minutes. i can not wait
Very good ,I love this does Jerry justice ! He played with Carlos before & Warren Hayes!
Warren Haynes and Jerry Garcia never graced the same stage at the same time. The entire earth would have stopped rotating if that jam happened. The two never even met matter of fact
Back to playing an Alembic bass! Those were always my favorites that Phil played.
Great to see these guys who have brought the best from different streams for so many years still bring it! Song takes me back to my 20s.
If like me 40+ years ago?
What a bundle of musical joy🎶🎶🎶🙏
I love you each one - as well as Neil’s original
Thx again for sharing your music. from Patti C
Carlos rocks on this ... awesome song

@Jairo Misael glad I could help :)
Wow Mr. Santana is on fire! SMOKIN'
i was there, he seemed like a teenager he had so much energy, looking at everyone else like, hey can we speed things up...
Yes as always
@@boltonbolton8455 JESUS H CHRIST!!!! F------- ING AWESOME!!!! I WATCH THIS 5 TIMES IN A WEEK!!!!! AWESOME!!!!
Santana in a 2000 Rolling Stone interview: '“The Grateful Dead pulled over in limousines to get some hamburgers,” he says. “And I’m in my apron, washing dishes and busing tables, and I said, ‘I’m going to do that.’ Something in me just said, ‘If they can do this, I can do this.'” There and then, he walked out of the job for good.'
Went to see Carlos in New Jersey the day Jerry Garcia died. It may have been the day after. Not 100 percent on that. He had a picture of Jerry on top of his amp. He did a wonderful version of Amazing Grace. I'll always appreciate that. Viva Santana!
Pete Davidson That’s awesome! I saw him at Jones Beach on 8/11/95 it was incredible. He did China Cat Sunflower teaser I believe. Still trying to find a copy of that show!A truly moving tribute. Awesome hearing him on this!
Great story!
Never too late to go back Carlos
San Francisco in the late Sixties... At the end of January I met a guy whose father sat next to Carlos in high school (we were talking about how mixed the city was in those days.)
I was fortunate to see Santana 3x while I was a teen. Hoping to see some Dead stuff when this pandemic calms down. Haven't been to a show in years.
Good on you brother! Looking forward to doing the same. The community is so beautiful and I miss that engagement meeting old friends and making new ones. You don’t know me, but I’m wishing you a very good day today.
What do we do when we are all in quaranteen ? Thank you Relix. Lesh is more. Peace.
NFA.
Stefan Schleps forget the fear and let your soul ride the sound.
CZcams gets ever more aggressive with its commercials. Here the Santana solo was completely destroyed with interruptions.
5:30 that small solo of Santana, a giant leap for a Song ! Long live all legends !
Really?
Carlos has a tough time soloing over major key songs.
Happy 81st birthday 🎂🎉
Everything is vaporwave to me now
So nice to hear this song without Mayer’s voice. 😃
So Happy listening to this
Why, that just put a smile on my face!
Carlos is the Shaman. Remember ONLY LOVE CAN, PHIL.
Sending love to you all From Patti Cornell. Thx for the music
WOW so beautiful
6:00 Carlos BRINGIN' IT HOME BABY
Carlos the Magician
Love that Carlos Santana!❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹
Fire on the Mountain
Phil Lesh and Friends
Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?
Get up, get up, get out of the door
Your playin' cold music on the barroom floor
Drowned in your laughter and dead to the core.
There's a dragon with matches that's loose on the town
Take a whole pail of water just to cool him down.
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Almost ablaze still you don't feel the heat
It takes all you got just to stay on the beat.
You say it's a livin', we all gotta eat
But you're here alone, there's no one to compete.
If Mercy's a bus'ness, I wish it for you
More than just ashes when your dreams come true.
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Long distance runner, what you holdin' out for?
Caught in slow motion in a dash for the door.
The flame from your stage has now spread to the floor
You gave all you had. Why you wanna give more?
The more that you give, the more it will take
To the thin line beyond which you really can't fake.
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
Fire! Fire on the mountain!
How do you your song is good? When Carlos is happy to be in the back and simply jam along!
..... music is love.... nothing like the fuckin old guys!
Thanks For The Video Post Seriously Tasty
Phil and Friends is always awesome 😎
Gentlemen I thank you!
Carlos doesn't really do subtlety here; his lead just lights up like a finale of fireworks!
81st today 💜🎶🌹
Crazy that he is in his 80,s
Fire onto mountin
Thanks.
This is great band take this and! more on tour!
What a fantastic jam, featuring music icons.
JESUS H CHRIST!!! F ING AWESOME!!!!!! I PLAY IT AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!
I love all these guys & calos Santana?!!?oh my god it don’t get much better then that I’m so turned on I’m so happy I’m glad to b up this late or I would of missed this!!
Insane that Santana is still so good
He's got flair.
Carlos is many things; but "insane" is definitely not any of them (sure I know that's not what yr saying, but...)
Carlos is a living manifestation of what that fine bumper sticker adage -- "think good thoughts" -- can accomplish
God, I needed that right now. Thank you!
Phil !!!!
HB - Phil 👍 All the best..
fabuloso,,,,,cuànto amor por la mùsica verdaderamente.
That's music 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Smile, smile, smile 😃
Carlos,Warren ,Phillip,Please let's get together again Please😊
Awesome! Well blended. Love them guitars!
Just awesome....true masters of their craft.....and a great song...
Amazing jam
Anybody remember when Carlos got arrested at Stapleton airport in Denver with 1 joint in his pocket when he landed before the mile high show with the dead in like ‘92 maybe ‘93?
I remember... he was going to play BirdSong with Jerry. He had to do community service as punishment if I recall correctly..
I think so. Poor guy. 😎
New Mexico just passed a bill making recreational marijuana legal, and it's already legal in Colorado! I'm so happy to see legalization so good folks like Carlos don't get shafted by the law. However , it's still illegal at the federal level, more work to do.
@@miketrudelle1602 every state that legalizes is its own experiment
it's supposedly legal in Illinois but there was no place you could buy it in Chicago when I was there last year
same thing in VA right now, and with a reactionary new guvnor implementing the law will probably be on hold
CA is more complicated, its worse in some ways for some folk as well as better in some ways for some folk
Fuck Yeah!
Phil is God!
❤
Carlos 🙏✍️😊☮️❤️
Love Lesh bass sound here!! Almost has some Hofner-qualities!
If you can't dig this YOUR SMOULDERING CAUSE I CAN DIG IT YEA
Great sound and mix! Carlos managed not to play overly loud.
Actually I thought he was a little too quiet, compressed and overdriven. He would’ve enhanced a little more with a cleaner attack.
@@russellcrea9701 I agree, I did think he was a little quiet and such. But so many times I've seen him play what I thought was way too loud, so I was at least commending him for not doing that 😀
geez. maybe park yr egos at the door next time guys.
trying to critique yr way into the audience Hall Of Fame by picking nits flying too witfully high over head?
Carlos was amazing in this.
Wow
Yum
Wheres the rest of the set cause Bob Weir came out during it and man was just amazing to see the four of them shred together
Musicianship !!!!
2:47 I see what you did there Warren... You McCartneized the Dead!
Looks like he cut off a finger. Amazing
🔥🎂🔥
Smokin’ 🔥🔥🔥
clayrad1 unbelievably! I thought the same thing before reading your post!
Warren Haynes channels Jerry Garcia. Respect.
Mule!!!!
Doesn't look a day over 75 here.

@@rlee6503 Yeah Rob !
Damn- he does a great Jerry voice! Fire
Does anyone know which model PRS he is playing in this video , looks like a stripped down version maybe, thanks, Peace !
its santana's artist series PRS
@@RandallPFloyd-vb6jt THANKS !
@@jixxxxer17 there is actually an SE series that is quite affordable
@@RandallPFloyd-vb6jt yes thank you I found one on ebay currently starting bid is $1 :0 Peace !
is the bass signal messed up? i keep hearing honking from lesh' bass
who are these guys? Some garage band? South Carolina was here.
It takes 2 to play Jerry !
And it still doesn't come remotely close! NFA
Incredible that the majority of the Dead ARENT Dead!!
Some sorta jug band wizardry
This Band could use one more Drummer.
😂
warren should've sang
Warren certainly isn't Jerry....small stuff
so let's all whine 'cuz every day of our life ain't our 5th Christmas???
Warren's great.
I like how Santana plays,,,,so much more than Meyer,
crazy what not taking heroin does for ur guitar playing
I like his playing but damn it seems like Warren Haynes is never happy on stage. He reminds of Peter in his cubicle at INITECH, just wishing he was fishing, instead.
A diehard deadhead told me once that she saw Santana open for the Grateful Dead. I reminded her, in case she'd forgotten, that Hendrix used to open for the Monkees...
But Warren can.
