Thank you so very much. After seven years we finally turn on my fireplace on our own Thanks to you 😊
You saved Christmas. New dad, new house here. Thank you 🎉
Thank you!! New to a 1960s home and this was THE best info I found. Helped me figure it out. Hero for the day award to you.
Great tutorial, this worked great on mine! My fireplace has been off for like 6 years, but I got it sorted out here in about 15 minutes. Thanks!
Thank you endlessly from Buffalo where the blizzard winds blew out my pilot on Dec. 22. Power had gone out too, so your instructions were vital to remaining warm once it was safe to attempt relighting.
Thank you so much! Your video was generic enough to apply to my 60 year old gas fireplace but specific enough to work!!
Just lit my pilot. Great instruction! Thank you.
Best explanation compared to other YT videos. Thanks for making it clear & understandable.
You are 100% correct. Please don’t create your own instructions but follow the instructions by the manufacturer only.
Not following these instructions, can be
a cause of an incident.
Great video. Super clear on all the steps and got my fireplace going. Thanks, much appreciated!
Great explanation!! Dome say too much talking, but I appreciate the detailed information. Thank you.
Great video! Appreciate the details and pointers! Got my ire place going for the winter!
I did it! Woop woop! Thank you, I was sooooo nervous! I watched a few other videos but yours gave me the info I needed to truly understand how annnnnd why! Thank you, now I'm not shivering until my hubs wakes up. Phew! Merry Christmas- love the verse behind you 👏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Just lit mine yesterday, but do it exactly as you recommend! Appreciate all your safety points. I keep my pilot on all year long because I have a metal chimney and it eliminates moisture.
Thank you for a great video. I now (hope) I understand better why my husband has no trouble lighting the pilot on our freestanding gas fireplace and I do. He understands that that the thermocouple has to warm up! I expect I always had stopped feeding the gas too soon after the pilot lit. I know you stressed sniffing for gas and being patient to allow gas to dissipate early on in the video. If you can add text over the video near the end where you tell people to keep trying if the flame goes out, I suggest you add something like, be sure to be patient between tries allowing 3-5 minutes for the gas to dissipate. I was thinking about the gas ball that comes up when I first start up the gas barbecue. I have learned to duck down as I ignite the gas because I never know if there is gas in the air nearby, perhaps I can not smell it but that does not mean it will not ignite!. That is also why they tell you to be sure the lid is all the way open on a gas grill when starting it up. In a firebox in a fireplace the gas that comes out is trapped there much like if I had left the cover down on the gas grill when starting it. One other thing that we do, is, if we are turning off the fire on the gas grill or the pilot on the gas fireplace, we turn off the gas at the beginning of the branch of the propane line feeding the individual device while leaving the valve open at the device to allow the gas to burn off as much as possible out of the line to the device. Then, after the flame is out, we turn off the gas closest to where the flame comes up. Again, thank you for a great video!
Great video 👍 thanks
Oh my gosh! Thank you!! I so appreciate your step by step and showing repeatedly pushing the igniter vs. just holding, etc.. One question, do you. have other videos for "How-to-do".
Thanks!!
Amazing we have FIRE!!!!
Thank you. I’m nervous, but going to give it a try 😬
Thank you so much!!!!!
Thank you !
Great video -- One question, let's assume all went good and you used the bypass switch next to the igniter, what do you do after that when is working? do you turn on the switch on the wall too then turn the bypass off ?? please help
Wonderful item smell of gas a bit upon ignition after that works well . Over powers my home great item
I liked this video. I have one question…that bypass switch to turn on fireplace while down by the fireplace…in what mode do you leave that switch?? On or RS??? Idek know what RS meant. I found out it means room switch so that’s where I put it after I had turned it on just to see if the fireplace would start and that worked. I can still use my wall switch but I didn’t know what position to put it in or if I needed to move it from off, that info would’ve been handy
Speaking of safety, should you have the vent fully open half open or closed with natural gas fireplace?
What about if you have a key in the wall?
When do I use that?
thanks bud. this what i needed. not just how to but how the mechanisms works. as I have an old model.
Is there suppose to be a loud clicking noise when you push in on igniter? Mine don’t make a loud sound like in video. Should I push and release igniter, or just hold it in till it lights?
Is there a safety issue to leave the pilot on all year round? Think you answered it already and I apologize.. but just wondering?
Should i hear pilot hissimg noise after lit and running
My pilot is not holding fire. Once remove hand from the pilot it goes off. Held a few minutes stil it doesn't stay on.
is it okay to leave the gas valve on? i don’t think mine turns
I’m wondering this too. I don’t smell gas but the switch is in the on position. I don’t smell gas but the knob won’t turn
Mine must be broken 😢 my pilot won’t even spark
To much bla bla. Show more please.
Thanks for a clearer picture.
way too much talking. visuals help.
Turn your YT screen off and grab your fucking fireplace “manual”… on it youll see lots of drawings. Good visuals eh??!!!
Tooooooooo..... much talking....😅
