FreakDaMIghet and the Marvel Universr already has a bevy of its own monsters: Fin Fang Foom, Dragon Man, Xemnu, Gog. It’s surprising that Stan didn’t license those characters to American studios looking to create its own creature features like Toho Studios.
@@the123joker Its just pure awesome, that's what it is! I'm a big fan of 70's Marvel, as I feel that it was a pretty big creative fertile ground (and silver samurai was originally a daredevil villain too!)
If anyone is wondering where Marvel-616 Godzilla is now, he was last scene as a cameo with the Mole Man's underground army of giant monsters. And yes, he is sporting his iconic Heisei design now, thank God. Though this classic 70's American depiction used in the comics and cartoon would make a nice collectible figure, NECA even tried to get one made, but Toho turned them down. Come on guys...
Matt, you mean Jimmy Woo. He's pretty much Marvel's first Asian-American hero, created in 1956 as the protagonist of Yellow Claw (who's basically a proto-Mandarin). He's been a mainstay of the MU ever since, joining SHIELD and becoming the leader of Agents of Atlas (which I've heard is a pretty good book). If you watched Ant Man & the Wasp, he's the guy whom Randall Park portrays, and he's pretty funny in it.
Hashioka is indeed a real Japanese surname and likely translates to Bridge-Hill. One of the more notable people with this last name that would be known before these comics were printed was a Bantam weight olympic boxer from 1936
I own the Dr. Demonicus Heroclix figure and his whole deal is summoning kaiju to fight on the map. I actually used mini Toho monsters to represent his summoned monsters and absolutely love it!
The thought of someone just running away after taking an (admittedly human sized but still tho) atomic breath to the face is so ludicrous it might be more hard to accept for me than getting Godzilla in a trenchcoat TWO TIMES. Remember when just being near Godzilla would irradiate an entire block? That S.H.I.E.L.D. Helli-carrier and everyone on it should be dead by now just from how close they get, alone!
Yeah Marvel’s Godzilla was OP as fuck. This comic was canon to Earth-616. And even the might of the Avengers, Fantastic Four and Champions were nothing against him.
Jimmy Woo is a character with a long Marvel history, appearing as the nemesis of "The Yellow Claw" during the Atlas years of the 1950's. He was reintroduced in the 1960's in "Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD" and, well because he's Asian (albeit, Chinese, not Japanese), he's brought in to Marvel's "Godzilla King Of The Monsters" comic of the 1970's as "Tamara's" love interest. So yeah, he's got a long history with Marvel. (And you really confused "Iceman" with "Silver Surfer" on that "Champions" cover?)
25:36 In '73 there was an Oil Crisis when OPEC (the Middle-East dominate oil cartel) refused to sell oil to countries supporting Israel. It continued to have ripple effects throughout the decade and beyond.
My only regret is that we never got to see this incarnation of Godzilla and Japanese Spider-Man join forces to defeat a supervillian team-up of Doctor Demonicus and Professor Monster with his Iron-cross army.
You know, as big and serious of a Kaiju fan I am, who takes Godzilla lore like it's fucking scripture, I still love this goofy shit. It does not change the good Godzilla media we have, and sometimes bad things are the most entertaining xD
I love how Godzilla spends most of the comic getting his ass kicked by C-List superheroes, random supervillains they just made up, or monsters so lame they would never be featured in any Godzilla movie.
After Marvel Lost The License To Godzilla, one of the villains of the original comics, Dr. Demonicus, captures and mutates a similar creature, which appears in Iron Man #193, #194 and #196, but is not confirmed to be Godzilla so I'll refer it as Gigantis.
Yeah Thor admits his full might is not gonna stop let alone kill Godzilla. And Godzilla is more powerful than the Midgard Serpent? Ok that’s saying something. None of the Avengers could have killed him let alone defeat him. Marvel’s Godzilla is OP. I mean they went all out against him with all their might and none of their full power could do much against him.
Just a thing about hercules, I belive he would be strong enough to lift goji’s foot, he did lift the earth once. That being said I think the ground should have given way under hercules.
Wait, SHIELD has "Block Buster" weapons that are just cannons that shoot giant square tons of bricks? WHY THE FUCK DO THEY NOT USE THOSE MORE OFTEN?? I WANT TO SEE THOSE IN THE MCU SO BADLY. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THANOS OR A MAD HULK JUST GET PUMMELED WITH FLYING SQUARES OF BRICKS LAUNCHED AT HIGH VELOCITY.
I dunno if anyone answered, but in the Hanna Barbera series he shrank to microscopic size. It’s the one actual memorable episode. Cuz I remember it from probably 1981.
I swear, McMuscles, if you just spoiled Phase 4 of the MCU...
Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover with MonsterVerse? That would be pretty cool, actually.
FreakDaMIghet and the Marvel Universr already has a bevy of its own monsters: Fin Fang Foom, Dragon Man, Xemnu, Gog. It’s surprising that Stan didn’t license those characters to American studios looking to create its own creature features like Toho Studios.
Mr Sack Godzilla vs Fin Fang Foom.
I’d throw a wallet at getting that filmed
Spoiler:
At the end of Godzilla: KOTM, Godzilla goes home only to discover Nick Fury sitting in his swivel chair.

Probably the best character of the 616 Universe and I do mean that seriously.
and lets not forget Eminem
I hope "remember that time..." becomes a recurring series detailing weird comic book fuckery.
I was just telling my wife at one point Godzilla and Transformers were Marvel canon. It didnt help my case trying to get her to read comics.
"Where's Peter Parker?!"
"Sorry sir, he's busy making friends with the Transformers."
Only problem is it's 1977
JJ mouthing off to fucking Godzilla is the funniest shit.
The fact that the picture Spidey takes at the end is the final issue's cover is amazing. What a completely insane book.
Nice
Headcannon: this wasn't Godzilla; it was just The Hulk having a WEIRD week after watching too much tokusatsu television.

Peter Parker was questioning if selling his marriage to the devil is a good idea when it happens

Christ, Yellow Claw sounds racist as fuck.
We need a "Godzilla is my copilot" bumper sticker
This series was quietly one of the most dementedly brilliant things Marvel ever did.
I would shit bricks if Godzilla showed up in the MCU

A colossus in Cucamonga,
A goliath in Glendale,

*FREEZE BLACKMAN!*
Rob is just a Kenny from a Gamera film.
Godzilla would have aimed for the head
“G-Force”? Isn’t that the name of a spy hamster movie?
I thought it have something to do with Gatchaman?
Cameron Fisk Guinea Pigs, I think.
G force means army in godzilla and there is godzilla in the avenger universe = it isn’t the name of a spy hamster movie
Yes. Yes it is
G-Force standard For Godzilla Force
Suprisingly I do remember

They really need to make a Godzilla vs Marvel movie since Godzilla fought marvel characters in comics 💪🔥💯
a green godzilla looks cool

That Marvel Godzilla looks like Reptar
