Magnificent Century Episode 137: • Magnificent Century Ep...
Bayezid has a close brush with death. Death is everywhere on the Magnificent Century! Bayezid gets betrayed by Rüstem, and he girds himself with his sword and goes to fight. Bayezid fights with all his strength and corners Selim. Just as Selim comes to an end, everything turns upside down because of an arrow Selim gets shot by in the chest. Bayezid gets a fatal blow and he gets terrified when he sees the person who has shot him. Selim gets afraid that Bayezid will get his strength back and advences upon his brother with his army.
Bayezid goes to Iran with his children. Suleman gets angry when he learns his son has taken refuge of Tahmasb I.
Sparrowhawk returns to the capital to kill Rüstem and gets help from someone surprising. The deadly fight between them thrillingly comes to an end. Bayezid finds out that his father bargains for his life with Tahmasb I as he expects to be forgiven. Selim makes an insidious plan that the alarm bells start to ring for Bayezid.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

2:47 Mihrimah: “If mother lived nothing like it would happen.” FACTS! 🙌🏼
💯 Agreed! If Hurrem Sultan was alive, she would never ever allow Bayezid to be executed.
@@KingSahi she would have not let him garder troops to begin with
Agree Hurrem dispite what Selim did would not have exsepted or liked what Bayazid did as going agenst Selim was going agenst Suliman and vice versa,Selim and Nurbanu played well there
As Suleiman said 3:42 Bayazid is the biggest enemy for himself. Neither Selim nor someone else. Bayazid really thought rebellion against Selim doesn’t equal rebellion against Suleiman? Lmao!
Exactly. What an idea! He knows that Selim was chosen as heir to the throne. Which means that he has their father's backing. And he thinks that if he attacks Selim alone, Suleiman will simply allow this disrespect to go unpunished. What a nonsense!
@@user-ob4sq6fi3s Yes, I am suprised Bayazid couldn’t understand this simple fact.
@@gunescelik4207 well, his sword was always sharper than his mind. Plus, he had always been stubborn like a mule
Suleiman is right here. He warned Bayezid many times but he ignored it. Gathering troops is a big step, but Bayezid has made it a joke.
@Leo Yeah Unfortunately, almost all of his supporters left him, otherwise he could have won.
@Leo Yeah That's right.
@@leoswiftie if Bayezid had little brain he would have patiently waited until Suleiman’s death..
Lol Mihrimah forgetting who she is talking to, just like Mustafa and Bayezid. I'm pretty sure this is the only time Suleiman has ever raised his voice in any way at Mihrimah, showing how much Bayezid's actions affected him.
Daughters 🥰
If Mihrimah was Sehzade and said same words, Suleiman would get rid of him the same day! 😆
@Leo ohh
And Suleiman forgets who he's talking to. She holds all the valide sultan power of her mother and soon her title too. She's not a prince of the many which Suleiman had but the one and only little valide sultan.
She does well to speak, she said facts here.
@@DimSK. A valide is not above a sultan, moreover she absolutely doesn't have the power of a Valide yet at this point.
The cheek of Mihirmah. They slandered a non rebellious prince (Mustafa) but want actual rebel not to be punished.
Suleiman thinks Selim loves him the most . But Selim is the one who loves his parents the least. He always pretended to be a good boy in front of his parents. So that rest of his siblings get misunderstood. And in the end he gets the power. What a pity ! Suleiman never realised it.
Bayezid is such a fool, if he had patience he would’ve waited until Suleiman died, and then go against salim. Moreover, bayezid was in kuhtaya and selim was in Konya, bayezid province was much closer to the throne, he could’ve become a Sultan, Sultan bayezid III, but- he wasn’t good enough to be a sultan because of his temper. Selim wasn’t the ideal ruler, but he was patient and calm. And that makes him a better candidate. The best prince for the throne was probably Mehmed, but unfortunately he wasn’t alive long enough to show his true skills.
No, his Sanjak got changed to Amasya. Konya and Amasya were about equal distance from the capital. Plus Suleiman declared to his army and Navy that Selim was the heir prince and with Sokulo Mehmet Pasha as grand vizer, he would never let Bayezid sit on throne even if he got to the capital first. So there were a number of factors which would definitely prevent Baeyzid from getting throne even after Sultan Suleiman died.
@@KingSahi perhaps you are right about Sokolu , but let’s not forget, Suleiman’s father selim didn’t have any support in first, that including the support of the grand vizier, and in the end he became a sultan and killed that vizier. There were many similar cases like that so it’s not something bizarre. I still believe that the people would choose bayezid over Selim, but Selim would probably make an alliance that would make his army stronger, like with the Safavid or the Russias maybe
@@ghostlyplanx6434 thats also true. It could have gone either way.
@@KingSahi yes I agree with you
Selim wasn't patient, he was a bootlicker.
Just like bootlickers and flatterers cozy upto people of influence and remain sitting at the feets of influential people.
I alwayzzz luv rusteem's gestures...🤩
I LOVE THE COLOR AND THE DRESS MIRHIMA IS WEARING. Matches her crown 👑
Her mother wore those in past when she was haseki sultan
Rustem: my power has limits Mihrimah I can’t do anything
Also Rustem previously: constantly whispered to Suleiman to manipulate him lol
Mihrimah is right his end is coming
@Leo 😂
Thanks for adding. WELL DONE.
She looks so pretty, so regal, in that silver color.
Mihrimah started to act more as her mom but if one Haseki/Valide was under the Sultan, imagine just a princess of dynasty.
Mihrimah became Valide Sultan later
@@MrA1R1S I know it but here I talk about her status as princess

She's right, if valide sultan lived there would be balance and peace. Suleiman lost his words there hehehe
you are stupid and wrong.
Lol! Sultan Suleyman Han, Sultan Ahmed Han, Sultan Mustafa Han and Sultan Murad Han have all in other series have been handcuffed and dragged off to prison! It’s a sign of their versatility as actors and brings a smile to the the face! Halit Bey in both Vatanim Sensin and Babil, where the policewoman’s tendency to drag him off on one handcuff is a running joke, Mustafa in Vatanim Sensin, Ahmed I (Ekin Koc) in Uc Kurus and Murad (Metin Akdulger) in Aci Ask. It shows their talent as actors, but is also a moment of hilarity in the depth of sadness that they otherwise exhibit, like Halit Bey here! All in all, a dangerous bunch those sultans!😉
Bayezid was too impulsive
Mihirimah payed the price of her sins because she involved in killing of her innocent brother Mustafa,,. At least she should take side with Mustafa and now beyazid she suffer for beyazid.... This supreme empire start falling after killing loyal servants of empire Ibrahim pasha and prince Mustafa then beyazid
Yes.. You are right.. Whatever happens, Mustafa was really innocent...
Every time she got upset with him wanted a Divorce lol
And what happened to her when she stole the seal of Mustafa and framed him. Hypocrite
OMG...Iam sooo lucky...I didn't born in that palace🤯🤯🤯😁😁😁
Sultana learned nothing from her mother or aunts.....
What do you mean?
Rustem’s days are numbered!! Finally!!!
3:53
IN MY VIEW
Bayezid ended his own life when he chose to become a sniveling crybaby victim insisting on rebelling and staying angry.
Why dont he remembering mahidevaran
Nice
Rustem Pasha😅
1) stupid to say bayezid is against Selim and not suleiman . How can a prince raise an army and attack his brother while the sultan is alive? The fighting starts when sultan has died or is very sick .
2) despite being warned many times , bayezid refused to obey the sultan . If he was mahidevran son , he would've been killed long time back .
3) Suleiman is justified in supporting Selim . How can a father ever tolerate his one son harming another during his life . Mihirmah was out of her mind to suggest otherwise.
4) rustem is blamed way too much . Infact mihirmah never deserved rustem . I am sure even without her , rustem would've been an important figure in ottoman power circles
5) Suleiman likes rustem definitely .
6) suleiman never tolerates disrespect and disobedience even if it comes from his beloved mihirmah .
Tbf, even Mustafa got a LOT of warnings, especially during his time at Manisa. The only Sultan in the fratricide era that would've been more merciful was Bayezid II, who forgave his son Korkut for seeking refuge in Mamluk Egypt and his other son Ahmed for trying to overthrow him. Had Mustafa been the son of Selim, he would've died before becoming too popular, especially if Selim had favoured another son. He probably would've been killed during his time in Manisa
Rüstem had already gained a high position before marrying Mihrimah. In the show, he was supported by Hürrem and favoured by Suleiman, especially after Ibrahim's execution, so he would've became Grand Vizier anyway
@@hussainsultanzada6123 as usual , lovely comments mate ❤️

I agree with all your points well said.
BAYZIED III HAD SELIM I TEMEPER YET SELIM TOOK BAYZIED THRONE
Terrible what happened to bayezid and all his sons
His legs are paining and still in need of power and killing his own sons, that's Suleiman the magnificent 🙄
That's the conclusion when somebody only looked at the short part of it. And doesn't get a whole background behind it
He did what a sultan had to do. The punishment of betrayal is death. No matter if it's a prince or a commoner
You are so wrong!!! Suleiman was MAGNIFICENT and Kanuni for his justice and accomplishments. The price for rebellion and disorder in Empire is death. I know it sounds harsh, but Suleiman did the right thing! Go blame Bayazid!
@@kimkai.823 You are right but how come even Bayezids sons were killed? They were only kids, why were they punished for their father's mistakes?
@@abdul7945 when a prince dies, his children always do. Unfortunately it always happened in the past cause they were threat to others cause they had right to the throne
I am posting this comment as calmly and friendly as possible. Please, everyone receive it as such and forgive me if i am mistaken about a detail here and there.
I have to agree with Suleiman on that regard. Bayazid was warned time and time again about how important is to control his temper and not make hasty decisions. He was warned about the consequences of his actions and had Mustafa's example (who too provoked his father with his stubborness and defiance) fresh in his mind. And waht he does; HE RAISES IN REBELLION, THINKING THAT IF HE ATTACKS TH PRINCE WHO HAS BEEN CHOSEN BY THE KING AS HEIR TO THE THRONE, THE KING WILL SIMPLY ALLOW THIS ACT OF DEFIANCE GO UNPUNISHED! Bayazid is a true idiot who well deserves his fate at this point.
I don't understand Mirimah here. She was the one who pushed Mustafa to his doom even though he didn't raise an army in rebellion. And now she goes to her father and has the audacy to DEMAND him to forgive her idiotic brother; A Prince who doesn't respect his King's commands That's absurd.
Finally, Rustem. Gods, I can't wait to see him bitting the dust.
That's impractical.
Example of mustafa only taught him not to trust the sultan . He exactly knew what his father was capable of doing.
He knew selim's hate from childhood, by announcing selim as heir apparent, Suleiman wrote the death warrant of Prince beyazid and his children
Beyazid could have either waited for execution or fought to die or win
Sorry İ feel the need to comment this. İ think you are really right but I think did made that rebellion out of despair. If Selim would become padisah Bayazid would unlike Mihrima (Good thank she is a women!) die anyway with his family. He probably got panicked seeing what will happen so he died under his circumstances and didn't wait for axe to hit him
