    ABOUT US
We’re Colin and Samir, creators based out of Los Angeles California. We make videos about the creator economy, and the lessons we’ve learned over 10 years of being on CZcams. We also interview creators and try to get to the bottom of what’s working on CZcams and where the creator economy is headed.

I don't know if he mentioned working hard? What I took away form this interview is rather pace yourself and you won't burn out, don't make decisions that put too much stress on yourself and stay pretty stable and solid before you move forward with the next step. I think when you're happy, inspired and in the flow like he seems to be, it might look to others like you're working "hard" because you might have fun and do a lot of things for many hours, but I don't think it feels hard. If it feels hard, you're probably off your mark.

Colin and Samir's videos give the feeling that they are not only talking about CZcams community and CZcams Creator life, but it feels like you can imply the learnings from these videos in your real life. Like I'm not a creator but just a casual watcher, still the things you understand from these videos can be very much related to real world, it feels like it is teaching me real life management. Because, as an example, you not only get burnt out if you are a creator and are tiring yourself out of the dopamine you used to get from your work initially, but also in daily life, since everyone is applying some form of creativity to their daily work and they do get burnt out eventually. So the things they make us understand is really great and helpful as they can be easily morphed into guidance you can use in real life as well.

There was so much learnings in it - I don’t even know where to start. When mark talked about the part of comparing yourself to the Mr. beasts out there and also seeing CZcams as a creative outlet as well as which feedback is important and to be grateful for where and what you are were the most important messages. Because thinking about this the wrong way is what caused me feeling paralysed and suffering from early stages of depression. I got myself help and this video came just at the right time for me to think about happiness, career choices and life in general in a different way! Thank you! Then to hear that his mom passed away from the same disease that mine had around the same time, it makes a lot more sense now. And the way he talks about his mom and they impact she had on him even though she never got to see it come to fruition really made me smile.

Loved the interview. Mark had some REALLY valuable words of wisdom.
On another note.. you might want to change the name of the show to Samir and Colin since he's the one asking most of the questions. :D

The thing I like the most about this episode was that slow approach and making the things that he wants to. The news channel might mention a story but not be able to go very deep but then you get a podcast like criminal that changes a million people's minds on an idea. Squirrels don't change a million people's minds but I'm so glad that I saw every last one of those epic backyard squirrel stuff. Admittedly the newest one was kind of hokey but I still loved every minute of it. And I can't even say that about the best of creators.

There is so much amazing wisdom here and I am really glad that you folks are doing this as in a lot of traditional industries people do not think like Mark or you two (or do not promote it openly). It is really nice to remember that its okay to take your pace and to hear it from someone who had it a lot of experience in traditional and new industries, thank you folks!

I love it and i know you'll start taking off soon.

Hey Colin and Samir, great video! Truly loved Mark's insights and perspectives - and he modest 11 jet skis. A future guest I'd love to see is Hillier Smith on the show. How he uses his editing as a tool for storytelling and the psychology behind it is something lots of creators can learn from. Looking forward to all the future content about how to navigate this crazy creator economy.

Mark is just so inspiring. He was the person other than my dad who told the message that you can do anything as long as you want it by heart. He just gave me the final confidence boost that I will make it to university after grade 13 and will be getting my engineering degree in road maintenance and building.

Thank you Mark, you inspired me to keep on going. I've been making CZcams videos for 6 years and all my money goes right back into CZcams mainly to my editors I've had to invest into camera equipment and other things like that. But it's a good thing I still have my career in repairing electronics.

Amazing - I just couldn't turn this one off... Felt like Mark was really speaking to me. I'm close to graduating college with an engineering degree, have some creative projects in my off time (makin music lol), but I feel like having the security blanket of stable income allows me to create better/more freely instead of creating out of stress to put food on the table. I liked my internships, Mark liked Apple/Nasa, and this was the first time I've felt like someone spoke to the extra motivation you have from working in engineering while having real/serious creative passions on the weekends and weeknights. I like both. I think I need both. I dream of a world where everyone could have access to/desire for some basic level of technical education and interest, while still allowing themselves to be artists. If even half the world population had even a 6-month coding/automation class and worked 20 hours a week on it, we could solve so many of the world problems, and if the same people allowed themselves make art/create, they might be happy enough to want to learn hard skills and help the world in the first place. I think Mark is the future.
