I vividly recall the red, white, and blue Nissan truck with the 300ZX engine. This hardbody was made from 85-97. I had a '97, miss it. Since, their trucks went downhill. They should revive these, and we add our own options.
My dad had a 86 dessert runner. When he got it circa 1993 the dessert runner lettering and all the roll bars had been removed. He always wished it was a Toyota but says it out 4x4 and was faster. He liked the truck and he couldn’t kill it.
I have some leather nissan foglight covers that came on my pathfinder for the top lights if you're interested. My Plastic grilles melted at some point during previous ownership, so i'm swapping out the bosch lights for more modern Leds. Those Plastic grid shaped covers for the foglights are impossible to find.
Very nice. My buddy bought an 88 SE V6 reg cab. Basically the exact same specs as the Desert Runner. He did not want the power package. power mirrors, seats and windows/doors. He did not like King Cabs. I had a 720 King Cab at the time. 86.5 is the first year of the d21. basically a 1987 released early. Same thing Nissan did in 72 with the 72.5 620. I used to see allot of them driving around california. But when I worked at some nissan dealers in 1989, they were no longer sold. The 88 1ton long bed was more popular.
Just dropping a comment saying that this is one of my personal halo cars, and I am patiently waiting with a stack of cash for one to finally appear for sale. Thanks for the great video!!!
Hello, hey congrats,a good find, I've been a loyal Datsun/ Nissan owner since 87 when I got an 79 Datsun long bed, then my first new vehicle was a 93 Nissan King cab, then the last of the hard body's 97 King cab then a 07 frontier then in 2017 a King cab, all have been maintained & never let me down, use them as trucks, I prefer the 4 cil, easy to work on, no special tools, plenty of engine room, & 151hp & a 5 speed auto , after over 150000 it still See's 100 mph, weekly, But I am looking forward to the 3.8 v6 & 310 hp & a 9 speed...
I saw a truck exactly like that one in 1988 at a dealer and I couldn’t afford it so I bought the red one which was sporty and it came with a four-cylinder and it had spoilers all the way around the truck including a front and rear, spoiler and side skirts and it also had I think 30 inch tires and 15 inch rims. The tires were huge but the truck was lowered to the ground. Luckily it came with air conditioning and AM/FM stereo with cassette and 2 speakers. It was also a 1988 hardbody.

Beautiful truck!
Thank you!
I had the 1988 Pathfinder and there looks to be crossover. Loves the look of the general look they had back then, rugged.
Wow bro congratulations I’ve been wanting to see one of those in person for so long 👍👌
I had a friend who had one back in the day. They put a 6 grand all Yamaha car audio equipment in it.
Nice truck!
A guy in Rogers Arkansas has one. He bought it new. Super good shape. Just saw it this past Tuesday. He ordered it, not sure of the options.

Why are the hubcaps different from the front.
Because the front ones have cutouts for the hub lockers that the rear ones do not need.
👌👌😍😍👍
Thanks Juan!
Love it! One day I will restore mine. 😎
Did you restore it, or find it in that condition? Very cool truck!
Thanks, it was restored a couple years ago.
