Sly is actually 5'8" and wears lifts a lot. Common in Hollywood, and Russel Crowe did as well. He is listed as 5'10" in his bio, which everyone knows is exaggerated PR bull. It's the reason he had to hold out so long to play Rocky, even though it was his script: most producers thought he was too small to play a heavyweight fighter. But his bodybuilding made him an imposing figure, and he usually has actors in the cast not too tall as well. A monster action figure considering his size. Tom Cruise is shorter, and did pretty good too. Matt Damon is no skyscraper, yet the Bourne series is action classics.
These guys being stunned at the idea of the president letting someone with a history of violence go with a pardon.
So cute.
these are not guys. they are women dressed in mens clothes. i mean Jesus... look at the person on the left.
Context of the time, this was only a few years after Ford pardoned Nixon and people were still upset about it.
And he actually was only responsible for 1 death in the first movie, when that dummy fell out of the helicopter
Let's not forget that guy he pinned to a tree. That guy was alive but MEGA stabbed.@sparksdrinker5650
The headband was part of her dress
"Rambo in the Hunger Games" 😂😂. Lot of younger reactors doing Stallone movies lately. Good to see.
Love Rambo 2! Especially how Rambo knows that Murdock is lying and waits to tell Trautman when they're alone.
Hot Shots Deux is a brilliant hilarious parody of Rambo 2. Much better than the first Hot Shots. 🔥
RAMBO is back!
James Cameron even co wrote the screenplay with Stallone which won a Golden Razzie for Worst Screenplay. Lol!
It won Worst Picture, Worst Actor for Stallone, and Worst Original Song "Peace In Our Life."
However it made $300 million dollars against a $25 million dollar budget, making it one of the highest grossing films in the series.
The reason it made so much, is that Stallone understood some very angry 'Nam vets that wanted Congress napalmed out over leaving our guys in POW camps there. When the NVA/Ho Chi Minh demanded cash for prisoners, scumbags like John McCain & others covered it up, and left our guys to rot and die, while their very rich parents either paid for their draft dodging (Trump, Clinton, Bush, etc.), or traded favors off the books quietly to get them back from the Hanoi Hilton (McCaine, etc.).
I can only say the day McCain died painfully, lots of people I am aware of cheered, and mentioned he got off too easy. But most importantly...they outlived that traitorous low life.
My father actually did bring his Vietnamese girlfriend/interpreter to the states. Lol
After watching Rambo, you are now certified to watch the movie UHF.
True to that! Love UHF so much . Aaaaaaaaaahh 😂😂😂
When Rambo 2 came out I was 7 years old , and thé movieposter made you feel in awe what was coming up . Epic movie !!
I wish I could give this more likes.
Supplies!
The first guy Rambo tries to save, when you see his face when he learns it is 1985 and he's been a prisoner for 10 years.. his face is so powerful and you can see he had no clue how long it had been.
In Rambo 3, the storyline revolves around Coronal Troutman. You guys mentioned his role wasn't big enough in this movie and that may have been noticed by the movie company. Three is where Troutman shines. Always liked Richard Crenna throughout the years. Good actor and a nice guy by industry standards.
In the 80s there were the Terminator, the Predator and...Rambo... my childhood !
When you hear the synthesizer instrument play that electronic cicada sound. That's the only way I can describe it. It sounds badass!
this movie sold so many rambo and commando packs of weapons from the dollar store in those little plastic packs back then. all us kids who were rambo fans had a few : D
I had the Rambo survival knife back then.
It must’ve been sweltering on the movie set because the cast was perspiring in every scene. The sweat drip is crazy.😂
Cobra, is a good Stallone movie.
Facts!!! love that movie.
Copland is too.
Keep the terrible funny dad jokes coming, Cam! 😂😂
The jokes are terrible lol
Teens,yep
22:12 Stallone is 5ft 10 btw!
No actually Rocky is 5’8 at the most. I’m 5’9 and have met him several times at Lakers games in LA. We were basically the same height but he had dress shoes on with heals.
He was 5'9 in 80s
I wish Stallone himself would see this reaction. I swear he would die of laughter.😂
basically Metal Gear Solid the movie lol
Now you guys see why 1985 Was Our FAVORITE YEAR... RAMBO, BACK TO THE FUTURE 1, IRON MAIDEN, RATT, W.A.S.P. AC/DC, KROKUS, SLADE, DIO, NIGHT RANGER, QUIET RIOT, HELIX....And So Many More....
Three more to go guys. How much more violent can they get....?
Compared to 4, this is bedtime candy.
Also, the guy that plays Sensei Kreese in The Karate Kid films has a minor role in this.
I highly recommend "Hacksaw Ridge" with Andrew Garfield. It's a highly acclaimed WWII true story and I guarantee you will like it.
This movie brought a lot of closure to Vietnam veterans. Here the government tied Rambo's hands by not being allowed to engage the enemy. Just like our government did in real life. Everytime Rambo had a kill the entire movie theater erupted in cheers. There was a debate who was more of a prick Sheriff Teasle or Murdock. You guts will love Rambo 3 Rambo 4 and Rambo Last Blood. That is a combination of pig piss and shit he was in. That is a Russian Hind D and Rambo was in a Huey.
For 1985 it was probably a Hind A
@@rubenlopez3364 It was actually a French Puma mocked up to sort of look like an early model Hind which was becoming quite famous with the Soviets in Afghanistan but was still basically unknown in the west. Nobody could get hold of Soviet equipment in those days..
At the start how did u think he’s bad at stealth when the whole first movie he’s hiding from soldiers and cops like a ninja lmao
Yo, Cam and Zay! Here are some films that you should REALLY watch soon, “Titanic, Mystic River, Scary Movie 3, The Dark Knight, Napoleon Dynamite, Guardians of the Galaxy 1.”
19:30 - Do you guys recognize this actor playing the Russian, Podovsky? He's Steven Berkoff who played the main bad guy, 'Victor Maitland', in "Beverly Hills Cop" (starring Eddie Murphy).
"That's the guy from ummm karate kid 3" That's Kreese from karate kid 1-3 & cobra kai.
Edit: just thought it was funny you singled him out from specifically karate kid 3.
I love when he tells Murdock he’s coming for him 😊
One great thing about 80’s action movies. No cgi -> real explosions.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Rambo movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
I usually get annoyed by the younger generation reacting to stuff from my youth - but these 2 guys are friggin' hilarious! I love hearing their comments.
In the book it was explained that Rambo escaped from that particular camp during the Vietnam war, and also, that the baddy chasing him was a commandant of the camp he was imprisoned in. Something that adds a bit of a flavor to their showdown.
The russian helicopter that comes up when you said "is that an apache" is the infamous Hind-D which was a staple of the soviet forces in the 70s and 80s. An apache is much smaller and US Army, not soviet, the Hind is an attack helicopter AND troop transport.
Sly's career has gone full circle. In this one ,he says he is Expendable.
Recent movies of his have been the Expendables
Rambo’s bullets hit harder. Notice how the bad guys all depart with much vigour at the mere sight of his mullet. That.. That is a man.
The big Helicopter is supposed to be a Russian MI-24 “Hind” but in the 80’s Hollywood probably didn’t have access to them so they “dressed up” a British (I think) chopper to look the part
it's not an apache, but a Soviet gunship helicopter: Mil Mi-24 Hind
Really great movie one stuntman died Cameron who wrote it blamed him self told by Michael biehn.
You boys are watching so many of the movies iconic to my youth I think you should be made honorary Gen X .... Well done as always..
This film is nothing like the other Rambo films and it's funny seeing you watch it thinking it's just an action film. There is so much more depth to this film and that's what makes it perfectly
Sly did this movie in 1985 in 1982 Rocky III, he was ripped for both roles: In Rocky III; .......following the extremely specific diet plan that Stallone recently described as having followed to dramatically lean down to just 2.9 percent body fat during the filming of Rocky III. Oh George Pan Cosmatos directed this movie he also did, Tombstone, and also Cobra (1986) (with Stallone)
Interesting fact: The Murdock character played by Charles Napier who Rambo confronts at the end was based off of late Senator John McCain who was involved with the cover-up of US Army veterans who were still held captive in Vietnam after the war ended.
"That's the guy from Karate Kid 3!" Really?
That opening joke... that was rough, maybe bring back the bird. Something to bear in mind is that he couldn't take pictures of the POWs as he had to cut away all his equipment in the jump, so the only way to prove their existence was to bring one back. If it hadn't been for the mishap at the start of the mission, then the whole thing would have been covered up.
This was when Stallone and Arnold were having their "feud" or rivalry and one upping each other. In Commando, Arnold says, "I eat green berets for breakfast" to one of his victims. It was a great time for action movie fans. While Arnold's movies are extremely entertaining, I think Stallone's films were better, on the whole. Just my opinion, and not including Cobra. And completely forgetting "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot"
Thanks for the great reaction and commentary, hope everyone has a great day

"Oh, Shit, That's The Guy From 'Karate Kid III' "
He's also in the first "Karate Kid", and the first few scenes of "Karate Kid II"
An underrated movie in the same vein of 80s war action genre, in my personal opinion, is RED SCORPION with the monster, 6'5" Dolph Lundgren.
It's a fun watch.
The first part of this movie is a bit Rocky.🙂
The helicopter that Rambo commandeers is an American Huey. Within the story, captured by the NVA and Russians and kept in service, and now it's changed hands again.
The other helicopter, the one with wings, is in reality some kind of American chopper but is dummied up to look like a Russian Mi-24 gunship. Those fake Mi-24s were first made for "Red Dawn," and were re-used here and in Rambo III.
The helicopter dropped a cluster bomb, which is filled with multiple smaller ones. It spreads out to a larger area. Hence the multiple explosions.
Rambo 2 is the quintessential 80s action movie, it inspired so many run and gun video games and other action movies. Rambo 3 is also a lot of fun but I think the emotional core wasn’t as strong. Still worth watching though.
You don't send in someone like Rambo to take pictures 😂
Say what you will......But Mudman Rambo and bow and arrow exploding man are two of the greatest kills in cinematic history
Yo my homeboy just said Chopper Gunner inbound
Rambo using the explosive arrows however he use them they got this explosive arrow on Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War
Once you get past Rambo III, you are in for a treat with "Rambo" 2008.
There all really good movies part 3 is my fav one most people like part 2 the best cant for them to react to part 3.
2 is probably my favorite, "Rambo" is intense, and I didn't care for Last Blood, it reminded me of The Taken movies. Really part 3 is your favorite, not many people say that.@@LenOliver-yz6os
18:42 5 star leech spa in a luxurious shitty pool be like.
James Cameron's original screenplay can be found online. It's an interesting read. It follows the general plot, but with far more character development, a second American operative on the mission, and rather more respect for the Rambo character. Look it up; it's worth an hour of your time.
Jack Cardiff was the Director of Photography, his work is worth checking out.
great review, fyi, he adjusted the mission when he cut off his equipment. He cut off his camera and he needed proof because he knew that CIA guy would cover it up.
Cam, Zay, you two are so funny! I really enjoy watching your reactions. Y'all crack me up! 😁
Felt like the most explosions , bullets in 1 movie
"rambo propelled grenade" lol
Absolutely love this movie. I had it recorded on VHS and watched all the time as a teen in the 80's. Yes first blood mas a better movie, but I thought this one was pure fun.
The rating system amuses me: as if there can only be one “10.”
Cant wait for the rest of the Rambo movie reactions from you guys. You two are my go to for movie reactions :D
I feel Rambo 3 is my favorite of the first three. Its location set is fun entertainment.
The original john wick and u mentioned hunger games the bow and arrow with explosive tip amazing
22:08 - Sylvester Stallone is actually pretty short. He's only 5' 9½" tall.
5'9" is average, so I wouldn't say short.
POWs still in Vietnam at this time was a big issue as there were many MIAs. The Chuck Norris movies Missing in Action also cover this topic.
Probably someone in the comments has already said, but is always good to remind you. Don´t forget to react on the next 3 films of Stallone´s francinsing: Rambo III (1988), Rambo IV (2008) and Rambo - Last Blood (2019). Here´s another 5 great movies that you guys can "react" too: The Warriors (1979); A Time to Kill (1996); The Shawshank Redemption (1994), 3 o´clock High (1987) and "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" (1978). It´s gonna blow out your minds. Best regards from Belo Horizonte City - State of Minas Gerais - Brazil.
To correct you on one detail @22:13, Stallone is actually the same height as me: 5-foot-7. There are all kinds of camera tricks that can make a person look taller than they really are. He's as far from 6-2 as I am.
Another really cool mix of synth and orchestra by the great Jerry Goldsmith.
1. Best of the bunch.
2. The Soviet Commander/Steven Burkoff also played the heavy in "Beverly Hills Cop".
3. There's a must watch/share with Sly and Kurt Russell called "Tango and Cash" where a cop says to Tango and says, "He thinks he's Rambo."
Tango/Stallone says, "Rambo, is a pussy"🤣
4. Charles Napier/Murdock😇 also played Lt. Boyle in "Silence of the Lambs"
5. Co/Julia Nickson could get it. 😍🥰😋 She tries too hard on that accent though.🙄
6. I'd be pissed too if I were being set up for failure. 🤬
There’s a movie I think you both would like it. It’s very funny. It’s called Biloxi blues. I hope you can put that on one of your watchlist. Thanks so much guys.
Great reaction. Every sequel gets more and more intense. Number four is my favorite. You ain't sean nothing yet.
Love your reactions guys!
As a Fan of Quentin Tarantino’s earlier work, you need to add TRUE ROMANCE (1993) to your watch list
It’s written by Tarantino, but directed by Top Gun’s Tony Scott
As a bonus checkout the insane cast:
Christian Slater
Patricia Arquette
Brad Pitt
Gary Oldman
Val Kilmer
Dennis Hopper
Samuel’s L Jackson
Christopher Walken
James Gandolfini
Tom Sizemore
254 people is the count of people killed by Rambo Up until last blood Movie In which at 74 years old he killed 46 people
The Soviet helicopter is a Mil Mi-24, also best known in the West as the Hind D. You guys should also review Commando starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hot Shots! Part Deux, which was a funny parody of this Rambo film.
Apache attack helicopter is American, what you saw is the Soviet/Russian Mi-24 Hind which is a troop transport assault helicopter! 😎
A great movie you will injoy them all.
This one took a tonal shift from the first and more thought provoking film, but this one definitely has it’s merits. Even though I’m wondering what happened back in hope. Like did the Sheriff get re-elected:)
next you got to watch Hot Shots! Part Deux, which is a parody of rambo
All I'm going to say is Rambo 4 has a body count more than all the Halloween films😂 including all the remakes. 😎 I'm sure cam & zays mouths will be fully open through Rambo 4😋
He lost his equipment so he couldn't take pictures even if he wanted to don't say he wasn't going to follow orders
I hope yall watch all of the Rambo movies👍🏼
Pay attention to the next one! It's actually sort of what happened in Afghanistan!!!! The SF went there to train and provide support. But US politics constantly changing left go right and so on. Rambo 3 is a time when Afghanistan and the US used to be allies
It literally does happen in Afghanistan, against the Soviets which were still a thing back then..
did you just say Rambo Propelled Grenade? LOL
Zay... about your tearing up when Rambo's love interest was shot?... bless you
Awesome reaction! I saw it a longtime ago but didn’t remember all about it.
Rambo 3 is good lads
Why Rambo uses an explosive arrow on this one enemy? Because this man has killed Rambo‘s girlfriend!
Yep!!!
27:27 He was the one who killed Rambo's girl
27:27 El fue quien mató a la chica de rambo
Cam&Zay does watching this Film in any way make both of y'all want 2 get your own Camouflage Pattern Clothing?
Stallone is 5' 10" tall.
Cam’s NOT in for skydiving.
Karate Kid 3? That bully was in Karate Kid 1 lol.
I hope you guys continue with the franchise. Rambo 3 is good but it's not as great as the first two. But when you get to Rambo 4 that's where things really kick up a notch and that will be an amazing reaction
You guys have to watch the fourth Rambo movie it came out in 2008 it’s so different from all the other ones in that the violence is insane it’s a gore fest and it’s awesome
Your problem is he might have PTSD, Not that a kingcrap cop refused a Medal Honer recipient was denied the right to Eat in "his" town and was abused in custody. Rights he had no authority to take. I worry even good young men like yourselves so easily give up your rights.
