Boris Badenov is an antagonist character in the 1959-1964 animated series Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show, so often appearing with his devious accomplice, Natasha Fatale, that the two are usually grouped together, as Boris and Natasha.

Two things…First, Jamie Lee Curtis was the actual person hanging from the helicopter. She did this stunt herself on her 35th birthday. Second, the fall during the striptease was real. The look on Arnold’s face was genuine. He was getting up to help her but she just soldiered on & it was so good they left it in.

And the woman can sing! She has a great voice. If you ever watched Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm; the song during the end credits is one of hers from her album. I got to mean her once. Wonderful person; truly a joy. I worked for this Casino in Vegas; where a film she was in was being filmed. Some trivia:
This movie was an adaptation of a French comedy from the early 80's "La Totale" from French Director Claude Zidi.
A couple of years later Claude Zidi was in LA for a Foreign Film festival and took the opportunity to make English dubbed VHS of the movie and have them distributed around.
At the time, Arnold's Brother in Law, got the VHS, went home and watched the movie.
He loved it so much that he called his Bro in Law, Arny, who was in search for a comedy movie to make.
He told him to come by his home and watch the movie togheter, Arnold LOVED IT, and said that THIS is the movie that he wanna adapt and play in.
Off course it had to be the "Hollywood" version with more action and dynamism.
So he knows exactly who to call for this, his good ol' Buddy James Cameron.
Arnold knew that Cameron's project to make a Spiderman movie just got plugged, so he had a MASSIVE holes of a couple of months in his schedule.
Arnold invited Cameron over, watced the movie with him and told about his idea, at first James wasn't really into it, but the more Arny was talking about it, te more he was onboard.
So Cameron went and organized a meeting with Claude Zidi, so that they could negotiate for the OG movie rights.
Iirc , Claude Zidi, who loved the idea of someone like Cameron adapting his movie, gave them the rights to it for a Symbolic $ and Negotioated instead a % on the movie's revenues.
Cameron said in an INTW thah despite the Americanisation of the movie, he wanted to keep the Comedic elements and their rythm/beat.
And, it worked, critics where kinda in between with it, but the public was VERY receptive to it and loved it.
It is to this day the ONLY Action Comedy that Cameron ever directed.

While some people might have an issue with Tom Arnold due to comments or actions over the years... playing the "bitter divorcee" was PRICELESS because he played it so well, but ALSO because of knowing at the time this came out he was just coming out of a contested divorce with Roseanne Barr. So it is possible SOME of his comments about former lovers just may have been real issues he had to put up with.
Whatever the issues behind the scenes may have been.... when it came to THIS performance, it is still one of the best "side kick characters" ever created.

@3:49 What a lot of reactors may not seem to understand is that they put “perfect Arabic” under the translation because Harry said “Where’s the john? I have to take a major leak”, which used slang terms. They were letting the audience know that it was translated as precisely as possible, unlike other movies that only used loose translations from one language to another.

This movie uses a common movie lighting "trick" where they shoot a couple scenes in brighter light than is actually in the story. People have wondered why she didn't recognize him in the hotel room. It was actually much darker than the scene showed. It would be harder for the audience to see what is going on in the scene if they actually plunged the room in darkness. They do a similar thing in the shootout at the pier when Arnold shoots out the overhead lights. It doesn't really get much darker as Zay pointed out, but they keep it more lit so the audience can follow the action.

Thank you for sharing your reaction to one of my favorite films. Bill Paxton was the best at entertainingly playing an obnoxious character. Check him out in "Weird Science," "The Terminator," "Aliens," "Near Dark," Predator 2," and ""Edge Of Tomorrow."

This isn't blowing my skirt up gentlemen. The first time I saw this movie is when it came out. I love this movie. And I use that phrase all the time. The looks I get make it so worth it.

This was James Cameron's take on the James Bond movies, with the idea of featuring the biggest action hero as the James Bond and trying to out-do those movies with even more spectacular stunts and special effects. This movie was released before James Bond returned to the screen in the form of Pierce Brosnan with Goldeneye, as 007 hadn't been in a movie since Licence to Kill at the end of the 1980s. The special effects were a sensation at the time and used ground-breaking digital/CGI effects to enhance and make possible some of the scenes. This was at the time the most expensive movie ever made, a record which James Cameron went on to break himself with Titanic a couple of years later.

Epic. I watched this with my sister, to introduce her to SciFi. At the end she said, I could buy almost all of it (suspension of disbelief). Except that plane. Such a thing can never exist.
I then had to explain to her the history of the Harrier VTOL jump-jet.
