After following the entire season, I saw how much stuff they missed out.
    - Missed Alonso completely
    - Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo non-existent
    - Missed Baku
    - Missed Checo's struggle and comeback
    - Missed Pierre performing extremely well
    - Missed Lewis's comeback in Brazil
    - Missed Charles inability to get as much podiums as Carlos
    - Missed Lando's Heartbreak in Russia
    - Made 2 episodes on Bottas's struggles and replacement by Russel even though it could have been combined and give Aston Martin some screen time....

Ok maybe not all of these but at least half of these should have been mentioned along with actual accuracy to history and chronological order. @@albert_gyorgy Literally nothing about it has changed since the first season. Stop deluding yourself. DTS has always been a bit dramatized, because guess what: DTS isn’t made for hardcore fans. It’s made to attract new fans. Season 4 is by far the best one in terms of what can attract an audience. Plus they significantly toned down on the fake drama from S3

    • @albert_gyorgy
      @albert_gyorgy Před 2 lety +65

@@eliteflite8395 Their approach is very questionable at best. Being a bit dramatized and literally faking history to fit your narrative in a freaking 'documentary' are two completely different things. Also think about their tools for dramatisation: Fake engine sounds with gear shifts all over the place. It literally adds 0 excitement and anyone who ever sat in a car can tell that random downshifts while accelerating are bs. Glass and metal breaking sounds after a crash. Everyone sees there is no glass in a formula 1 car, how would it make a sound like that when crashed? You could argue I'm being nitpicky but these are things that they put effort into and literally make the series worse. It's really not hard to tell the series is not made by people who are experts in f1, motorsports or let alone sports, because they would have a different approach. It's kinda hard to explain something to someone who doesn't know anything about it when you don't know anything about it either. Well I'm not saying I'm an expert but I know a thing or two about F1 and this is not really how I think is right to introduce someone to F1. But I guess who am I to talk about this, and as long as it makes money for them no one should expect them to change their approach.

I watch DTS for the behind the scenes stuff that we never get to see. Other than that Idc. Also the millions of new fans created from the series, the new sponsors and others: That all stems from DTS. Sure, it’s not the only thing that’s driving this growth (F1’s social media has improved dramatically since Libert Media took over) but it plays a huge role. Every team on the grid will say so.

I agree with most of criticism here. It seems like the writers of the show really didn’t extract the essence and the drama of the best season in the recent years.
Way too much focus on Toto and Horner.
No discussion on technical and engineering aspect.
Too many repeated coverage of certain races
Little to no attention on other subplots.
No mention of amazing drive by Alonso.
    No mention of notable retirements.
No mention of regulatory change of cars for next year.
Netflix is losing focus on what is F1 in all a about. They are risking turning the series into some sort of soap opera. There are so much material to cover if they just watch the race hence it is disappointing to see they only focusing on narrow spectrum of drama.

i mean of course there's never going to be a discussion on engineering aspects come on, I'm sure since u complained that you care, but listening in dts about the differents approaches merc and red bull have on suspensions or whatever is very boring and will never appeal to a broad audience, which you gotta remember, it's the objective.
And at the end of the day, toto and horner were the two to give us something to talk about in that rivarly: hamilton will never be particularly explicit on camera and verstappen didn't partecipate this year.
I believe that especially in the first episode they highlighted very well the environment of "sport hatred" between mercedes and red bull and, once again, you will never have lewis tell you how much max pissed him off, so it was kinda funny to see the team principals talk shit about each other.

Lol I watched some of the 2020 season, but not religiously. Then 2021 I watched all of it. Got a couple of co-workers halfway into it, and all that. But DTS4, is a steaming pile of lies and deception. I remember watching what actually happened, and it doesn't match up to what Netflix claims. For example, Lando did some AMAZING driving in Sochi, and I was almost in tears of sympathy for him when Hamilton finally caught him! I figured as much as they glorify Loois they'd play that up a little more, but instead made it look like Mazespin fought his way to second or something. And when Hamilton pushed Max off the track to his 91g encounter with the wall at Silverstone? They added all these 'grunting' noises to the footage after the crash.
Netflix always played things up on DTS, and I get that they're playing the ratings game, not accuracy. I also understand that their target demographic isn't current F1 fans, but gosh darn if it isn't still annoying!
At least it helps bring some fans into the sport. I mean, I probably would've gone on with life having forgotten about Formula1 for more years if not for being reminded of the cars, and exhilaration of the racing itself.
