Depending on mileage you'll need valves adjusting. It shouldn't take that long to start even if not used for a while.

@@JDMz it had a problem with the valves and head. It ditnt make it past 2300 km.
I traded it in for a vespa sprint 4v.
That i still got to today.

I got the same one, when you dont use it atleast try to start it for 5 to 10 minutes on idle every 5 - 6 days.

im considering buying one myself. i fell for the big boy and i could use some advice. cause its gonna be my first scooter. and it willl be my main transport to go around.
but i also wanna watch my budgetwith regards to purchase and repairs. and the new scooters go above the budget on raw purchase alone (let alone repairs later). i found an occasion jet14 E4 in my favorite color. is it worth it?
any background and info you can share about this scooter? help would be great.
i want to make sure i can enjoy it for a long time. (minimum repair costs) and forgiving on mistakes. (beginner scooter driver friendly)

I liked the looks, and how it handled also.
I got my jet14 second hand, with 960 km on the counter, and give it a serves job with 1500km on the counter.
The jet14 broke down with just 2400km on the counter.
There was carbon build up on the valves, and that made the engine not having compresion.
(Yes my gass was e5, and i put some engine boost evory 3 fill ups)
Acording to the mechanic that servesed my jet14, that is a comon problem, but my trust in the jet14 is gone.
So i went back to vespa,
I own a 2016 with 15.000km on the counter, and that scooter runs and drives as new..
My jetty story, is a horror story. Might be bad luck.. because i hear storys off jettys that has 85.000 on the counter with now problems..
But for me.. no more sym.. i rather go for a new kymco.. or a 2nd hand vespa. For the money.
Goodluck, i hope u find a good ride

did you get the jet14? if so, how is it going?

    • @ghighitv7009

@@yastraw there was an ocasion in my favorite color bit i ended up buying another scooter mainly cause it probs wouldnt fitr in the tight corners of the apartments garage corders. so i ended up buying an orbit 3 E4
because everything became E5 the new orbit E4 was about as much as the ocasion jet14.
i can fit my helmet in de buddy and it fits in the garage that was my main reason to take it instead. and for a first scooter it works very well. :)

@@yastraw I have a brendnew bought in august 2021 sym jet 14, 50 cc (E5 injection) and yes, its a big scooter heavy, but as a rock on the road, but thats is my personal opinion and it has some adjustments on my own request and runs fine at the moment it has now 2700 Km on the counter.
