I have watched countless reviews for this filter and yours was actually so helpful. It's good to see it in real time vs. the focus on just one shot. Thanks for a great video!
You prolly dont care but does someone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Aidan Ernesto Instablaster ;)
@Adrien Draven I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Adrien Draven It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account!
@Aidan Ernesto No problem :)
Had a feeling you were going to post. Peter is killing it with these filters, loving it
I’m so impressed with the mic quality through the mask, also love your a-roll framing!
Great review man. I love the real world use and true opinions! Keep it up!
Your passion is strong and expressive built upon your strong standards. Love the content. ❤ Keep it up!!!
Thank you!!! I'm glad you found it helpful!
Very nice review, thanks for sharing. One question: how does this ND filter rank in terms of loss of sharpness? I buy expensive lenses so the last thing I want is to lose sharpness. Are there others out there that are better or is this filter's loss of sharpness as little as it gets?
Great video as usual
Is it a bad idea to get the edition 1 (since they are cheaper now)? I know they made external changes, but is the quality of the actual results of photos and videos the same for both edition 1 and 2? That’s all I care about, please help!
If i need VND for video you suggest edition 1 or 2?
i have seen so many videos about the difference, you made me decide for the minst 🙏
Another benefit of having internal ND is you can customize what other filters to or not to put on your lens without causing vignetting, A lens hood would fit on the lens as well.
Awesome review man! Killing it with all these uploads lately, damn. You weren't kidding when you said you were having no life hahaha
thanks so much for this review! super helpful in my decision to purchase the new vnd ;-)
Glad I could help!
What lens where you shooting with on the days that the 6 to 9 stop was to powerful?
Love this video! Are there any filter threads so you can attach additional filters on top this time around ?
Sadly no, no front filter threads to add another filter on top
I'm still trying to decide whether to buy the mist version or the regular version, this was helpful though.. Much appreciated man :)
Glad you found it helpful!
Great review and insights! You covered a lot of great points. Especially in regards to the hard stops for video. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed with the tint/cast this exhibits for its price but I guess that’s how most all VND’s are. I wish the a7s III had a built in ND :( sometimes I wonder if it’s worth sacrificing the shutter rule in favor of better colors and avoiding VND’s. To me VND’s just seem like a compromise. Especially for vlogging, is there really a big noticeable difference if someone just vlogs with auto shutter speed and no ND?
I agree David. I sacrifice shutter speed for accurate color on my a7Siii. I shoot a lot of run and gun with varying color temps so I can't custom white balance every time. I wish VND makers like PolarPro could figure out that gross color cast fix.
Thank you for the video Marc! Do you have to press the filter in order to change the stop?
What do you mean by press? You have to turn the filter, just like any other variable ND filter
@@MarcTaraz thanks for the reply. With the 6-9 stops is easy. Switching from 2 to 5 stops sometimes requires pressing and then turning thread clockwise.
Great video thank you!!! 😁
The filter seems to be good but 2 to 5 is not enough as you showed. I have the HOYA VND one (not politized) and it goes from about 1 to 9.
8:41 whats happening with corners?
Wich one are the advantages of having this filter with VND Mist Edition instead of VND Signature Edition + Black pro mist. Isn't better to have both separatly and use it when you want? Thanks
It really depends on your personal use case!
In the video you said not to upgrade if you have the previous generation, but what if you don’t have either? Which one would be better to get?
Quality on both is stellar, it really just depends on whether or not you want the mist version, and if that doesn't matter, whether you like hard clicks on your stops or a smooth transition with no clicks.
Great video mate, very helpfull! Went on a little though, reckon you could have got to that conclusion in half the time :). Also, that camera shake! A7Siii and not got your ibis on? Subbed all the same, look forward to seeing more from you.
can you have these filters on and just use it for the mist filter or in the least you'll always have it two stops down?
Its an ND filter, so it's always going to darken your image no matter what. If you want a most filter I'd look into the black promist
I agree. Also, I love the vid. by the way, would you mind telling me do you shoot on the M Dial, or the movie Dial to get the cleanest look?
I do everything on the m dial, and then I’ve made presets of custom 1 2 and 3
Great review thank you. So would you say getting a separate dedicated mist filter may give you a superior effect rather getting this all in one and using the mist on it. I draw your attention to the Tiffen brand as they make dedicated mist and black mist stand alone filters.
I don’t like filter stacking, so I’d much rather have an variable ND with mist built in, I have dedicated stand alone mist type filters for when I don’t need to ND, and dedicated clean ND’s when I don’t want to mist. But Having the ability to have both in one, while retaining image quality in 1 single filter and not weighing the lens down more is very helpful to me!
Got these recently. Are they meant to look like there is dust/particles trapped in there inbetween like sparkly ish that doesn’t clean off? I can’t take a photo of it as it doesn’t show up in photos? Is that the diffusion??
That is the diffusion yes
Hello I was thinking of buying this new generation of filter but my use is more for video, I am worried that going from nd 2 to 5 is very hard and there is no fluidity as you mentioned, based on your experience with this filter, would you recommend it for video or better buy the first generation?
I think if you're in situations where the fluidity is important to you, yes, I'd get the first Gen product
@@MarcTaraz and in terms of color is there any improvement? or are they the same?
what luts do you use for your videos
I love the colors of of your videos, but the shakiness makes it challenging for me to watch
Holy balls this filter looks nice.
would you get the mist edition for landscapes? Cheers!
I personally would not. I'd want my landscapes to be as sharp as possible. But that's just me
No need to worry about your skin you are absolutely gorgeous!
I love the things you spoke about but hated the amount of camera shake, I wish you didn't walk as much or as fast.
Thanks for the video
how do I always sleep in when you post and then I'm never first
😂😂😂 I'd much rather you sleep in than be first. Sleep is far more inportant than any video I've ever posted
it really is a dope filter, but think i might get moment’s latest filter, as I most likely find myself needing my highlights bloomed rather than an ND.
Not a bad choice! And with that one you can stack an ND onto it if you so wish! Moment makes some great stuff
Can‘t really see anthing re PQ as unfortunately the video is too wobbly when you walk. Good points about the seemless tweaking with version 1 though.
What time of day was this?👀
I wanna say sometime between 11 and 2pm
Thanks for the video. Very informative. But please if you're gonna vlog with an A7sIII use a gimbal. I think my brain is still shaking from watching this.
My guy, buy a stabilizer over ND filters lol.
Great review though!
why is taking the rubber cover off so hard…
Great video but I must say. Walking and talking is not an enjoyable experience for us. If you walk slowly, your video will be much better. Great video though 👌
this video could be shorter, i felt it was not focused and a lot of rambling going on
You can do this cool adult thing and exit out of the video instead of being a piss ant.
Please rent a gimbal if you are going to walk and vlog.
have you seen your video before you upload? This constant wobbling causes headaches while watching.....
But by the way: very good information. I will subscribe.!
I liked whole contents here but shaky too much...plz use ibs cam when you walk around...seriously...
The camera shake is the worst.
Man stabilize your footage, it's extremely distracting
man.. at least try to stabilize the camera while walking. the shaking is horrible
