A video dedicated to my favorite character to ever exist, Shawn Patrick Hunter from BMW. There are no GMW clips here as it's a tribute to his character in the original series.

I wanna thank each and every single person that has taken their time to leave a nice comment for me to read over the past 2 years and a half. This video is extremely close to my heart and it makes me genuinely happy to find others find as much comfort watching it as I did while making it. It was an honor to give a tribute to such a beloved character by so many.
I struggle daily. Depression. Addiction. Borderline. Bipolar. I've always found myself to be Shawn. "This is a hug." breaks me. Thank you.

It’s crazy how he went from the cool guy teen heartthrob, to the most complex and interesting character in the show!
It really was so interesting he was just the “pretty boy” then we dove into his broken life.

he was always interesting, that was the cool thing about the show, you really watched the characters grow up, so it went from fun and funny and happy all the time, to really showing you the things shawn was going through and the pain of it

Because if a character goes through actual heavy development it makes it inevitable that your show needs an ending. And if you know there has to be an ending than you can’t milk your cash cow forever. Nowadays you get BAZINGA

Gorgeous! I'm sorry, but Girl Meets World can never live up to the original and this video shows why. There was just a grit to the original show and especially to this character that Disney just wouldn't allow in their show, unfortunately.

I agree. Before I disagreed, but then I saw boy meets world. I never stopped watching it.... I fell in love with the show!! The emotions.... The characters........ The storyline..... The plots.....

This is absolutely brilliant. I saw Boy meets world when I was younger and didn't understand the full extent to what Shawn was going through. But after rewatching the series, now, I can feel everything and his story is inspirational and heartbreaking. I mean tragedy after tragedy. And yet, he is able to be humorous, loving, and gentle to his friends and conquer the demons that have thrived within him. The entire character arc is a masterpiece of its own.
I watched it when I was alot younger and I am now watching these clips and edits and stuff and I dont remeber anything. And now I'm like omg when did this stuff happen so now I'm rewatching it hehe
I had the chance to explore this show this year as it had finished before I was born, but it is one of the best and most effective shows I have ever seen. I never liked Cory as much as I liked Shawn because his character development was just amazing. He went through so much, he was so strong.
I always loved Shawn and u did a fabulous job displaying his character growth

I'm in tears. My baby. Shawn Hunter deserved his happy ending with Maya and Katie so much. He at last had his own family. Thanfully before that he had the Mathews and Feeny and later on Turner. He was put through so much in Boy meets world. He will always be one of my favorite characters.
GMW was such a mess of a show.
I hated what GMW did to Angela. As if she was just a summer fling. Smh.
Him and Angela had such a good relationship I wish gmw would have kept it
he needed angela.. he still didn’t get everything he wanted & needed. idc what anyone says when he saw angela come through that door he focused on her fully. if she said she wanted him back he would’ve taken her back.
No Shawn and Angela should’ve been endgame. They were everything together that they deserved to be together.

Shawn has been through SO. MUCH. I honestly feel so bad for him.
"Because that would be easy... and I'm done with easy." That quote hit me so hard brought tears to my eyes; Shawn was such a complex character who was entertaining to watch but there was so much to learn from him. That's why that is my favorite quote.
I always knew that Shawn and Maya were very very much the same about their feelings and stuff. But I think I just realized now HOW much they actually are alike. I noticed so many parallels I can't even count them!

He was why I loved the show. I watched it around age 14 living most of the time with my abusive mother and the... uh, emotional neglect I felt from her was something Shawn's angst often captured if I stretched it... This captured SO many of his best moments and most emotional arcs. Thank you for this amazing 9 minute masterpiece. It was such a joy to watch and take it all in right now.

I'm cried watching this video. I see so much of myself in Shawn. Never knowing who you really are, never knowing where you fit in, realizing that you could've done better a little late.

Let me just say that I have barely seen any BMW episodes (I totally want to, but I have so many things to watch...) and basically only knew Shawn from GMW, and this totally broke my heart. This smol little baby.
I really recommend you watch BWM. Everything in GMW makes so much more sense that way. And I love Maya but Shawns story is more complex and since its 7 seasons you really get to know him.

delightisadream I love Maya from the show. But her story is nothing compared to the crap Shawn went through.
I deeeefinitely recommend watching all of BMW as well!! (watchcartoonsonline.eu, for some strange but wonderful reason haha, has the whole series available). This video is actually really great context for so much of Shawn's character (though I do promise there were a lot of funny/cute/fun moments with Shawn too-- it wasn't ALL sadness and tragedy all the time! :) ), but still, the series as a whole is just amazing. Girl Meets World had some great moments, but the thing is that SO many of those great moments were directly inspired by moments that originated in BMW, and BMW wasn't confined by Disney Channel regulations so it was able to get more gritty and raw.
And especially with Shawn in particular, since Rider Strong (sadly) isn't really acting anymore and was much more inclined to be involved with GMW as a director than as an actor, so he only agreed to act for a couple episodes a season which meant that there was very little time to do Shawn as a character justice on GMW. All things considered, I'm just really really happy that he finally got his happy ending
Trust me, Shawn's story is more complex than Maya's. Sure, they both have things in common like they both came from broken homes, one on and off parent and one abandoned parent, both are the Matthews' best friends and they both want what their best friends have because it's what they need, however if you compare Maya's life with Shawn, it's no contest that Shawn wins.
Shawn lived in a trailer park, which means, his family are poor, while Maya lives in an apartment, sure the ceiling were torn and it's small but it can still be repair, but she's not that poor, it's actually a nice place compared to Shawn's.
Shawn has lost so much people more than Maya ever have, Shawn's mother abandoned him since after he was born, his father died but even before he died, he was always on and off chasing after his stepmom and always left him alone in the trailer, he lost his best friend to a girl he married to (but of course they still hold on to each other as long as they live because even though Cory is married, who can guarantee that they won't ever divorce, even though Cory and Topanga's love is stable and their relationships are stable, they can come to a loose end anytime, so when that happens, who can Cory turn to? Sure, he can turn to his family and parents, other than Shawn, however, you know Cory's parents always work things out, so it's kind of hard for a permanent separation, so Shawn would be the only one whom Cory could turn to cause he would understand that kind of loss better than anybody. Your best friend will always come to you, no matter what. That's why they hold on to each other as long as they live.), and he lost his girlfriend who was his first love. What did Maya ever lost? She only lost her father to another family. She don't go places to places like Shawn did. She still have her mother whose been busy with her work to take care of her daughter, unlike Shawn's dad who just come and go for frequent of times. Maya at least know how to hold on to people who are important to her, while Shawn's life been too crushed that he, himself, constantly pushing people he loves away but he do come to realized that he have to hold on to them like how they always hold on to him.

I've always searched for a character like this until I stumbled upon this show at age eleven, I haven't stopped loving Shawn Patrick Hunter since. He inspires the characters in my head so I love this. Thank you for making this.
The lessons are there even in gmw.Kids should stay kids as long as they can and know everyone has something they go through no matter there status in life and these shows let you see this

I love how Corey never left Shawn and was there for him even if he didn't want the help. Sometimes all you need is someone there to be your pillar when you feel like shit and the world hates you. I love how Shawn faced many troubles and fought through hell to get to the lighter side at the end of the tunnel to makes something better. Truly an admirable character that no one can recreate. They don't make characters like they did on Boy Meets World anymore and that's very sad.

Shawn is a truly great character. He has had a lot of struggles in his life but he still managed to become the person he wanted to be. I watched GMW first cause I'm 16 and wasn't around when BMW was originally made. Shawn was always a character that seemed like he had everything figured out but watching BMW showed how much he struggled and fought to get there

I watched this video for the first time and just realized, I'm Shawn! I felt every feeling and understood with so much detail every event that made him be who he is. We are the sum of everything in our lives. The moments, the people we meet, our own unique way to prosses the good and the bad and mix it all up with the beauty that GOD put inside of us so we don't destroy ourselves concentrating only on the pain, but also focusing on the jewels of life....

I fell the same way I've been in hospital since 6 a couple months old had trouble breathing and had faver knockouts where I would fall asleep for a long time I had trouble with my ears when I was 5 to 6 when I was 8 I got a really bad heart condition had surgery when I was 9 and my sister has had some trouble with her boyfriend's and I was one of the most happiest child I could be didn't watch baseball till I was 11 and my family is in a war right now now all of those things they could break me down leave a mark or a scar but they didn't hurt as much as this did my sister got married and my brother and her got in a fight called her 16 times during a movie didn't know when to back off he gets my mom on his side all mad now later that night my brother was wrestling me put me in a cholck hold I told him to get off 30 secends later he's still on I hit him in the face he gets all mad and screamed why'd I do that my sister's husband went in my diffence and told him off I get upset and walk out my sister comes back in sees me seating on the bed and that's when we find out my brother is doing every possible thing to miss with there engagement that's been 3 months after they left I fell like I'm broken and I a big hole out of me and everyone can see it and won't stop looking at it I told him numerous times for him to back off but his dumb ass ways tells him to go the other way I'm backing off helping him if he wants to destroy this family that's fine he can take a trip down to the ground if he does it I I'm sick of seating around watching his stupid ass do this to the family it was our cousin that I asked numerous times to go see with me he didn't want to go I ask him to tell him to come over he didn't want to do that he don't like any one but his self here we are in the middle of a fucking war that he seems to have no clue that he started he won't admit it he won't apologize he won't say I fucked up none of this so when he comes back eathar he fixes it or he'll be sleeping out on the concrete
