So long Donald. You were great here and I still watch in 2024.
From Kelly's Heroes. Wonderful movie , amazing cast including the wonderful Canadian actor Donald Sutherland who passed today R.I.P sir.
RIP ODDBALL, you were great baby.
I've never seen a good review of Kelly's Heroes, and I've never known a real person who's seen it that doesn't think it's brilliant.
It was a great movie

I played that soundtrack every morning for a whole summer - and I saw the movie as a re-run every time I was down for ten years after. It's the most anti-war war movie ever made! Love your friends and stick it to the man✌️
One of my favorite war movies.
great movie
"There you go with them negative waves, baby. Always with them negative waves."
The Grandaddy of all hippies. ught oh, now I'm trying to remember the title of the movie, where Keifer was an FBI agent......
"No smoke...the fuel system is kaput...there is gasoline all over ze place."
Woof woof
No one said anything about locking horns with no tigers baby, i maybe nuts but im not crazy.

Brings back happy childhood memories growing up in the 1970s - what a decade !
Great decade if you forget Vietnam, Watergate, stagflation, serial killers, Iranian hostages. Otherwise, great decade.
Thank you for focusing on the evil.
Me too, great times. Saw this in a cinema when it first came out with my brother and parents. They've all passed away now but a memory I will always treasure.
Stupendous movie, does not require a remake!!!!
You know eventually Hollywood will do it. *Barf*
@@treyhelms5282 If they haven't done it in 54 years, I think they know better than to even try it!
@@richardmoore2124Never underestimate Hollywood's affinity for f%king everything up.
Great song, even greater movie, legendary cast. Some asked why there hasn’t been a remake. Because you won’t find legends to recreate these characters. Clint, Telly, Donald, Don and all the others 👍
steinway street you’re freakin right 👍
You got that s*** right brother
You're right, there aren't enough real men left in Hollywood to make movies like ths anymore!!
Hollywood is too full of puny soy-boy actors now. This is one of those movies that need to be left alone!
Let's just be glad they haven't, they'd screw it up.
My father loved this music. Brings all the memories back now he's gone.
My dad loved the movie and this was one of his favorite song.. I haven't heard it in years. Dad I miss you and love you. Rip
Every man loves this film. It's archetypal
God Bless, & , RIP,, ! To your dad,! Pal, 🤝, I just lost an uncle last weekend,! , & he lost his wife, my aunt,, 2 years ago, & , he lost one of his daughters, my cousin, from cancer a few weeks after from my aunt,,! God Bless from northern Ireland UK 🇬🇧🤝🤝
My brother was the same, passed in 2020 only 59 years old, this was his fave movie.
This was mine and my dad's favourite movie too.
Woof woof woof, that's my other dog impression
yes
When we were young and Kelly's Hero's was new, we thought that all this would last forever...now we turn and look back to see all the Bridges gone, and that all that part of our "normal" world has gone too, all the Bridges gone save our Memories.
burning bridges lost forever more.
Damm how did it all just go to shit
A war movie that wasn't really a war movie but turned out to be an all time classic.
What a cast, Clint, Donald and Telly just commanded the screen.
Also some great tankery, minus the paint of course.
the perfect crime...
Telly Savalas was irrelevant. Lots of actors could have played that part just as well. On the other hand, Donald Sutherland was brilliant. Without him the movie would have been just another average movie.
@@stevechristensen9171 D.S. was incredible. We all loved Odball. T.S. was outstanding, a real N.C.O.
don is 86 now clint in his 90s telly 26yrs now passed on the years sure have flown
Thank you so much. I first heard this song on the movie. I have to say I have been real good at 'burning bridges' over my life time. Fortunate for me, I am a little closer to God these days.
Donald Stherland's greatest movie, I think. He is absolutely marvellous in it.
Norse Wolf Woof Woof!
I concur.
Enough with negative waves Moriarty!
Hmm, he was pretty good in the eangle has landed......
For me it's a three-way tie between Kelly's Heroes, the Dirty Dozen and M.A.S.H. He was great in all of them.
Sooner or later Mr. Eastwood is going to be recognised as the giant he is or was.
I lost my dad over a year ago this was our favorite song and movie to watch RIP dad 1947-2021
Im 69 my dad loved this film too he died 1975 i love it too ,also love all for the love of sunshine too

"All the burning bridges " What a sensational song, I could listen to it everyday.
I do

What is really sad is just about all the good story tellers are gone 😢 😔 😞.
If you stand on a street corner in Nashville,Tennessee or outside B B King's House of Blue's in Memphis, your pants down by your ankles, screaming your head off, banging on a guitar 🎸, not able to understand a word your saying and have this dude with a gold rope necklace come up and offer you a million dollar record contract.
SOMETHING IS GOING WRONG 🤔 👀 😏.
Vet s love it
I'm JEALOUS of anyone who hasn't seen this............. Boy are they in for a treat.
50 years ago (1970) I was in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Both "Kelly's Heroes" and "Burning Bridges" still inspire.
David.. I'm glad you were one of the lucky to make it home. Semper fi for those who didn't.

He shot paint😂
He was weirdly proficient at his job. Sometimes, that's all that matters.
He loved wine, cheese and catching some rays!!!😂
Guuaaf guuaf exelente
Kelly's heroes, one of the best WAR movies i HAVE seen, I'M 64yrs, one i recomend that should be seen and not missed,
Give you a clue,
Its more about ripping germans off a load of gold,
During the war.
Yeah they don't make movies like this any more sad of course we don't have the great actors we had back then
I don't usually like war movies, but, I absolutely LOVE this movie.
I don't think we even have the audience required for movies like these nowadays. Someone burned the bridge back to these masterpieces it seems.
What an incredible movie! WHAT A CAST!!
Absolutely brilliant
And no women!
Incredible song and melody, and NOT just meant for war videos, it's about life! And what a cast!
Shows that often business and mutual self interest can trump political differences. German tank driver and American Army unit come together to loot the bank.
Yes,!!! Great movie, phenomenal cast, it is about life!
Here's a review. Great story, great music, amazing cast. Great cinematography. Always a pleasure to watch. Cinema snobs go back to your holes.
also- at 65yrs of age this song now hits home tremendously!
Kellys Heroes.....One of the best movies ever made.....
My father, who fought in the ETO even came to laugh out loud at this movie. He fought the real one, and he understood the sentiment. His favorite TV show was Combat! Oh, he knew that alright. Heck of a catchy tune too. Speaks of camarderie. And yes, he laughed at "Hogan's Heroes" as well. Helped him cope.
My Father was in WW11 He watched the same shows as your Father. I miss him so much. I always wondered what he went thru and never mentioned it
They definitely haven't made any great movies such as this one in a very, very long time
Never knew such a lightweight song could have such meaning and impact 53 years later or as the hippies would say this is deep, heavy sh.. man.
Married at 16! Draft notice took him to Vietnam! Came back different! Stayed together for over 12 years! We had a beautiful daughter! He's passed but will always love him!
Unfortunately everyone who went over to Vietnam and other wars always comes back differently. Vietnam was worse in the sense that soldiers weren't welcomed back the way they were in other wars: (. My dad did 2 tours and changed also. Glad you have your daughter:)
I was 16...
God bless you
There's not that many 'perfect' movies - which entertain from start to finish or that you can watch over and over through the years and still think 'Wow what a great film!' but this is definitely one of them. And the Theme song is just a perfect fit too and so memorable. Such a great cast, I love this film!
I think that the movie" Where Eagles Dare" also with Clint Eastwood in it . Could be one
Odd Ball Baby!!
When I see movies and documentaries about war of any time, I try to look at it from both sides. How many young soldiers on both sides were and are absolutely terrified of the circumstances of war. Remember the scene in Kelly's Heroes were the 3 American soldiers approach the German soldier in the tank. So many young men are being forced into it.
France
One of those movie songs where the lyrics are at a t total disconnect with the movie--but somehow, it still fits.
Yeah, when i was younger i thought what the hell is this song doing in the WW2 movie, and now i am just marveling how well it fits in the caper movie that happens during WW2 made in 1970.
It's a marvel of how it just works. I couldn't even begin to explain how but credit to the guy or who ever it was that made it happen. The film is great but the music adds so much that we all love- ICONIC!!
That and a Hank Jr song released in 1970 being used in a movie set in late 1944.
@@doughesson I just checked, and you're right. I remember from DECADES ago seeing Hank Williams in the credits and I missed the "Jr.". To be fair, he sang that a lot more like his Dad, and I assumed it was something being played on Armed Forces Radio when Oddball's tanks did the tunnel attack.
@@robertlehnert4148 Well,in 1973,after he fell off a mountain & almost died from his injuries,he started singing in a different style from his father's.
EXCELLENT SONG!!!!! I'VE BURNT A LOT OF BRIDGES IN MY LIFETIME/NEVER TO CROSS BACK OVER!!!!! I'VE LEFT THEM ALL IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR FOR VERY GOOD REASONS!!!!!!
One of the most brilliant ‘war songs’ ever… this was the icing on a brilliant movie… inspired casting of every actor and the brilliance of Clint, Telly, Donald and Don Rickles … and the brief but awesome performance of Karl-Otto, the German tiger tank commander was beyond greatness.. my favourite war film🙂
Karl-Otto, "This bank is not to fall into the hands of the American Army." Eastwood, "It's not going to fall into the American Army's hands. It's going to fall into our hands." Otto, "But you're the American Army." Eastwood, "No we're not. We're a private enterprise. And all you have to do to get a share of the gold is to swing this gun over and blow down that door." BOOM!
Ditto buddy. Ditto
Great song but never a war song. Song of missed opportunity's, friends and love.
@@stevenearle5857 You could stretch to include all of the people who come and go in the life of a soldier, but that is a stretch. Still a banger of a song
Facts! The tiger tank commander was brilliant
If you live long enough you'll understand the lyrics to this song.
I first heard this song on a Donny Osmond album when I was 10 years. I thought it was a catchy tune and fun to sing, but that was it. I had no idea what the lyrics were saying. I'm 60 now and I know. It is truly a sad song.
@@keenahansel9104 Yes it is!

Fortunately, I’m not that guy.
So true.
Love the song & the movie.
My favourite song.Still one of the best movies I have seen.
A great song. A sad song. I should have listened to friends as we don't have a fast rewind button.
It’s 20/23,went downstairs and pulled Kelly’s Hero’s out of my DVD collection. As I was watching the credits I realized not many of the original cast are still alive. This is one of my favorite movies and definitely my favorite Eastwood movie. Lalo Schifrin and Curb Records knocked this one out of the park and Burning Bridges is in my top 10 of all time favorite songs
This is one of my cult movies; if it’s on, I watch it. And you may be right. I think only Clint Eastwood and Donald Sutherland are still alive. Bummer, but we need to have positive waves, man, positive waves.
I saw it when it first came out with my brother in law, I remember it well he can’t recall it😢
I love this film, I was 15, when my Dad took me to see this! Have still got the record! Kelly's Heroes! ❤❤❤❤🇬🇧
A brilliant song that isn't heard or listened to enough. The words are profound when you listen to them...and think about them.
Woof woof , that's my dog impression !!!🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶😁
"Woof, woof, woof! That's my other dog impression." 🤣
'I'm drinking wine and eating some cheese and catching some rays you know' I've tried to live by that line since I first heard it . what a film what an actor. Rest in peace Oddball
So, the “movie critics” didn’t think it was a great movie. This had to be code for, all people that put down 2 or 3 bucks to see this at the theater would be blown away! This movie was brilliant, the best actors, the best music, the best story, the best ending, and most of all staying power. I could see this every six months and always enjoy it as much as the first viewing. This is one of those movies you never TRY to repeat, it’s a masterpiece!
be hard pressed to find suitable actors to fill the roles..just one of those films where you couldn't do a remake
The night before my daughter was born I watched this film, I have a daughter who is now 26 and I named Kelly.
This tune will forever be my song for my first born
Kellys Heros is one movie I watch everytime
This is the first movie I remember watching. It was on the CBS late movie, maybe 1974, and I was 5 yrs old. This movie is one of my all time favorites and I love this song.
21 years old and rocking this song. I'm glad that my family raised me with good taste.
Rest in Peace dear Donald Sutherland. No negative waves....
If you don’t like this movie, don’t hit me with those negative waves man

She obviously had great taste in music :)
I am sorry for your loss.

It was because of those negative waves
“See what sending out them negative waves did Moriarity ?”
I listen to this song to help boost my spirits, Never fails to do the job. Great Movie!!
Meaningful lyrics on an amazing melody. It touches anyone who is mature and listens close enough. The movie? It is a classic, iconic masterpiece made in the times when acting directing and script flowed together like a river… movie and music are both timeless. I wish every growing generation would watch it…
Me too!
As a kid I watched the film often with my father and grandfather.
Will do the same with my son soon
It’s a great movie . Adds humor too with Rickles and Sutherland
1970 I was 14 in 1971, in February we had a house fire which destroyed our home, and we lost the baby of the family, my only sister, aged 7. The painful memories are so real for me when I hear this song, but also sad, a huge sense of loss. I loved this Movie, so many Big actors, I still watch it when I can. Just try to remember all the good things, before the fire, I have missed her so much in my life, all the living we would have shared.

Wow, one the greatest movie line ups of all time!
The absolute greatest guy flick ever made! Why? You won't find a woman with a speaking part. Only men. I saw it when it first came out. It took me a while to pick up on it.
I saw it, stoned on Vietnamese weed, when it first came out. I was halfway through my tour in the Air Force. Oddball was my hero. "Burning Bridges" knocked me out. I can still sing it. What an awesome flick!
Great movie, great song and legendary cast they just don't make em like this anymore which is a great shame.
Classic actors movie and song!! Kelly's Heroes.
I came here because I watched _Kelly’s Heroes_ last night. One thing I noticed this time was how well the movie captures how utterly disorganized war is. Many times nobody knew where anyone was or what they were doing. Although the movie essentially a fantasy, that was one detail they got absolutely correct.
Exactly, at least the USA also brought troops in and also from my side unfortunately the South Africans .. cannon fodder unfortunately on the beaches the Germans did well and most died they should have rather left them to their own devices. The Germans were good soldiers ok they were better, means to fuck Hitler's ideas over, in general you couldn't beat them..the Americans fell on the beaches sad
Brilliant 🤩 film have watched it many time’s
Truly descriptive lyrics. The lyrics echo thru memories and describe many of us. Lackadaisical prognosticators take heed. The movie was so well cast; the actors so deft in their performances, it was showing timeless humanity. It was so artily done, that critics couldn't see it. May these master's R.I.P.
I own the movie. It's one of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies 🎥 of all time! It is a cynical view of war as a racket.
ODDBALL as gotta be one of the coolest cats ever too be put onto the big screen.
When I was a seaman many years ago in mid 80s me and my mates watched this movie over and over again thru vita max maybe a hundred times or more ...
.
I watched it on TV, when I was in grade school . Thank God it was late Saturday night. Then shared it with brother marines, at 29 palms California in 1987. God bless America, and all the actors. There isn't acting like it anymore. Semper Fidelis.
Some people think too much about this movie. I simply think it's good entertainment and I love it even now as I am 68 years old.
It’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for sure, absolutely love it

Where are the likes of this brilliant film
One of my favourite movies...and the first one, I ever recorded on VHS. This was 1990. Loved the characters and the story from the first moment. Some funny phrases I use in the right moment also in real life... but that song was "burnt" in my mind for ever. It's so real, so funny, melodic and melancholic at the same time..
love it! Thanks for sharing 👍
Songs always cut to the heart and put us back to earlier times and fill us with a very powerful emotion called sentimentality.
My favorite Eastwood movie. Mike Curb and his group knocked this one out of the park. Schifrin was a musical genius
"The Mike Curb Congregation" was The Osmonds, after this they broke with him and used their own name.
