      I mean, they were awesome. I've actually had alligator before in NYC, but if you're new to trying it, I think that would be a pretty fun first alligator experience. 😀

Really well done video here, we've never made it to Louisiana, but have always wanted to explore more of what the south has to offer. Looking forward to seeing more content! That's good that you felt the weather wasn't too different for your visits! I used to live on the East Coast (NYC), so I know it can be pretty muggy in August there. I assume Philly is the same. Sounds like you did some great activities - how did you like the ghost tour??? Which tour was your favorite?

    Eric, good analysis of North and South Louisiana... appreciated the Texas comparison. 😉

  • @MagentaOtterTravels
    @MagentaOtterTravels Před 2 lety +2

    Yeah, the bug thing does not sound appealing! I laughed when Eric made the comment about bugs the size of bats... when I lived in San Antonio, I learned about South Texas bugs (VERY different than North Texas bugs!!!)... I once called pest control from the kitchen in my house and said "you need to come to get rid of the bugs in my house STAT... there are roaches in my kitchen the size of CATS!!!". The pest control guy laughed, and they came that day ;-)

    • @MeansToTravel

    Really interesting, especially with the comparisons of north and south Louisiana. Just goes to show that you shouldn't make assumptions about places that you visit. My idea of Louisiana is just the Mardi Gras one.

    • @MeansToTravel

    Never mind the pronunciation of place names in Louisiana I struggled in the US as with my accent any (English!) word beginning with the letters 'tu' makes a 'ch' sound so it's 'Chews-day' not 'Toos-day' for Tuesday. Me trying to order a tuna sandwich in the US, "Can I have a chew-na sandwich?" Response "you want cheese?" "No chew-na, chew-na, you know the fish" Blank stares in my direction, I ended up pointing to it!

    • @MeansToTravel
      @MeansToTravel  Před 2 lety

      Haha yes, I've had to repeat myself in other places before, too! It can be funny if you go in with a good sense of humor about it. 😀
