I love your approach to this martial arts. And I agree, some days I give the upper belts a hard time, and others I felt like I performed as if it’s my first day and I sit there on the mat wondering what just happened.

“Gym olympics” 😂 Nice video! This is why I don’t worry about my son at your gym. In good hands!🙏

I have a guy who weighs about 50lbs more than I do. He has a very hard time submitting me so he grinds his knuckles into my neck and tries to smash me with his weight. Ive walked away from him during social times and told him I dont like rolling with him, but he still comes to ask for rolls and often gets too close to me while changing in the locker room etc. He's not well-liked at the gym and seems hell-bent on making me his friend. He's not a bully in the classic sense, but his social skills are trash. I figured he'd leave me alone when I said I didnt like rolling with him, but he just looked puzzled. However, multiple guys have told me in private they feel the same way I do.

I never say no. I let the bully rip me apart and next time I go straight to him. I only say something if I feel like they’re being unsafe and ripping submissions too hard. I roll with a bully for 2 weeks straight, I come back to people that started same time as me and I’m way ahead of them. I don’t like gentle practitioners… I need someone who’s gonna push me to get out of the positions I’m in and figure out certain things on my own. Best way to learn IMO. If I can do it at 35 with 3 kids, full time job, eating junk food and I don’t go to gym, I’m sure a 20 year old rugby player can do it too. Talk to Craig jones and ask him if he rolled carefully and lightly and that brought him to the top. Bs lol. All the best guys are the ones who did the craziest s&&& and went to gym 5-6 days a week and trained to keeel. Now please don’t try to spin this.. when in submission position, a practitioner is responsible for slowing down until the tap, don’t smash less experienced or smaller guy, don’t pull off wrist locks and knee bars on white belts, don’t smash women, etc.. I’m talking about 2 dudes equally experienced of equal size and strength or someone bigger and stronger than me. I do think dirty moves are good because whether we will use it in comp or not, it’s good to learn. I don’t mind if someone pulls off something dirty on me. Teaches me how to avoid it next time and shows me that if I was in street fight, I could be put into this situation. I believe we should be prepared for anything and everything

Plus people aren’t generally trying to be a bully, at a certain point just tell them to slow down if it’s too intense, wether that be cause you have a competition the next day, or your older. Not rolling with someone is definitely petty imo.

No. If you’re concerned about safety etc you have a right not to roll with them. I’ve said no to a few in the past. Especially young, arrogant and dangerous ones. No one likes training with dumbbells

@@SamPalms6943 It's petty not to accept another person's personal choice.
