The best movie of Wesley Snipes career in my humble opinion. Even though he played a drug dealer again, he had so much range of emotions and was vulnerable in this character. A very underappreciated movie.

No, he killed the ghost of his father because, he believed he was haunting his younger brother. He felt he hated his father because of his guilt of giving his mother the dirty needle. Bottom line he tells the guy he shoots, that's for my father. Taking revenge and mercy in his own hands. I suggest you watch the movie again. I've seen this film 54 times since I was 12. In the last act he truly becomes his brother's keeper. Doing the things he could not! And ppl don't realize is it better to die in the hands of the ones who love you than your enemies.
      Very Shakespeare.
Betrayed by father, mother passed down to sons, can't escape fate!!

That Beretta had 15 Shots. He chambered the first one, fired 11 in the bar. One at Theresa Rhandle, one into his brother (accidentally) & one to finish himself off. He had one round left in that gun by the time it was all over. He damn near unloaded the entire thing on his enemies & his family then himself. That's tragedy at it's worst.

Mine too. He was so cold when he said it. Like, this was the real Raynathan all along, and his act of cowardice and fear was just that. He bided his time, fooled them all and only showed his true face at the end. And it was deadly; you can see that in the way he smiles. Like, "This is what's really going on. This is how I really feel about you. Your story ends here." They fatally underestimated him. Raynathan may not have been smart in comparison to his brother, but he was shrewd enough to play the long game until he had all three of those people lined up in his sights. He got them all on the first try, and wiped them out that very night. Good on you, Ray. Should have left A.R. alone, though. Bad on you, Ray.

this movie really touches the heartstrings, bringing home a message about the consequences of compounded vice. Raynathan's insanity was justified in a world where wickedness (tessio, alexander oneal, et al.) threatened to take the last person he believed in - his brother - the only person who had protected him from the army of demons that killed his mother, crippled his father, and reigned like tyrants over his brother and him. Raynathan ends up being the most moral character, the hero -- an angel of death and God's final justice. snipes got smoked the same way in King of New York. same facial expression.

They should of all got awards out the ass for their performances and frfr, this was Snipes best role/ movie.
