Hundreds of years in the future humans have developed faster than light travel but can only come up with spears to fight giant monsters, not a single ray gun in the movie! And why not just issued sealed suits to everyone so the monsters cant smell fear?!

@@nop4064 pretty sure it was smell, because when the sister was killed, Jadan survived because she put him in that giant glass fish bowl looking thing. He was still afraid and watched his sister die but the creature didnt know he was there because he was in the glass.

My dad passed away back in 2021. This was the last movie we ever saw in the theaters and it just happened to be on Father's Day. This is a movie that we can all relate to, trying to prove something to your father or anyone because you think it will bring you glory. This movie is about overcoming fear. No one can overcome it, but you. Like most fathers, they try to teach you as best as they can, but it is up to you to take that leap of faith.
At the movie's end, he faced and overcame his fears, which was something that prevented him from moving forward......we can all relate... how many of us have things we haven't done but know we should? That's the undertone of this movie and this scene. Fear is nothing but a state of mind.
Go on and be sheep, bash the movie. Just know you are the herd being guided by the Shepards that gave this movie bad reviews. Believe in yourself, and so will others. Make yourself proud, and others will be too. That's what I learned from this movie.
Or follow the bias and just know you will be guided appropriately to add to the echo chamber of all the other haters.

I watched this movie with my father, when I was little and since we weren't from a Spanish speaking country all that western bad media about the movie didn't reach us, we enjoyed the movie, it was entertaining

A lot of people just didn't care and enjoyed it, like me and my father. Almost 10 years later and this film is still awesome I loved when it came out I saw it in theaters as a 13 year old and I still love it, say what you want about the Smith family but Will and Jaden both killed it in these roles, the chemistry is amazing as they are father and son in real life, and the story was also great along with the cinematography and music and this ending is so badass I don't care what anyone says

I would have to say that Will Smith is just like this in real life. He loves his son so dearly. In the movie he becomes a man and then some.
I thought it was a funny touch of the writers to have his character say,
"Dad, I want to work with mom"
Will says, "Yea, me too".

I liked this movie, always wanted Kitai's fear sensing armor.
So lemme get this straight....ursas go by smell and only see things that emit fear....but are masterful runners, and climbers which are capable of easily traversing extremely complex terrain.....meaning that they have some ability to conceptualise their surroundings.....but despite being the ultimate apex predators, have no instincts that tell them that if the terrain around them is moving in abnormal/ animal like ways it's not a rock/ obstacle......yeah makes sense
Should have made ir that they can only see at night as the light blinds them only the dark. And in the day they use smell to protect themselves but only smell fear.. make them nocturnal and Raife is the only one to kill one at night …. This way even at night you can sneak up to them as you have no fead and they can’t sense it … would make a lot more sense

Because it's blind. It only senses fear, the moment he was having a near death experience was the moment the monster could not see him.

Despite this movie not being one of the best , i dont think it’s really that bad like somany people say , the CGI for example is really good and there were some tense moment’s , i gues that the emotional moment’s between Kitai and his father could have been better but still i dont think they were that bad either , you could tell that how much depressed they were sience his sister died.

Many fail to see the parallel to Will preparing Jaden for the harsh life of being the son of... in the public eye. It is also a reverence to Wills father who served in Vietnam and gave him tough love. Lastly, Will embraced the "corny " act, after he was involved in a murder case. Don't get it twisted, you get the brother out of the ghetto...you know the rest.
