Yeah I noticed that. Even Lilith who had different colored eyes was under Lucifer despite her saying she didn't want to get killed, she didn't fight it either. I wonder if the other demons with red eyes/smoke are somehow working for Crowley directly. Like his own separate squad from the rest since the black eyed demons kept saying they preferred Lucifer.
I can remember that Rowena and Crowley had an argument about her parenting and he said that she sacrificed him for her powers and she responded that she was a career woman and not a perfect mother. When Crowley asked who his father was she said that he was conceived during a winter solace. Maybe all those things made him somehow special.
@@doreenbierens That's not correct. Crowley's real father was a rich local man who left Rowena to raise Crowley on her own as a bastard. That's why she really hates him, for how used and thrown away she felt after his birth.

My head cannon is that Crowley was born after Rowena made a deal with a demon before betraying said demon and the demon was trying to create an anti nephilem and succeded in creating a slightly juiced human which became a more juiced demon
That doesn’t make sense since Nephilem are evil soulless offspring of fallen angels. Why would a fallen angel(demon) want to create something to go against their children who are inherently against God & good?
We saw a few red eyed demons on the show and I remember them tending to be crossroads demons. Perhaps the red smoke is Crowley being supercharged as he became king of the crossroads. He was good in gathering souls, making deals, acquiring, transactions, strengthening HELLs army and himself.
Honestly that last theory has always been my headcannon. I thought it was the actual explanation. Because unlike other demons, he wasn't an animalistic-sadistic demon. Was he cruel? Yes. However, he managed to get the Winchesters to make deals with him time after time without them killing him. I think him having a bit of humanity was what made him accomplish that. He understood how people worked and he knew what moves people would make. I would say that it takes understanding humanity itself to do that. Sure other demons could manipulate however, Crowley felt bonds with the Winchesrers even though they were one sided. I mean Crowley practically fawned over Dean all the time.
I like how most of there theories are prefaced with 'the real reason is theatrics/lore oversight' but then a plausible weave is spun to better fit the actual lore of the show. Always enjoyable.

It’s not that they didn’t care it’s that Eric Kripke left.( He now writes the boys) He was the real brains behind the show without him the series while still fun lost it’s tighter story telling
@@kevnwilson2124 yes but they also didn't care. At all. Here is a list of plot holes that appeared in season six just because the new writers wanted to have fun. Alpha monsters (yes, they are a plot hole). Souls being an energy source. People being able to exist without souls. Angels can just fkn enter Lucifer's cage AND EVEN OPEN IT (Raphael says he wants to do it). The actual position of a King of hell. King of hell being able to change hell into what he wants. King of hell wants souls from purgatory as a power source yet he can use souls from hell (gives 50k to Cass) so why tf they need purgatory? The Campbell family being alive even though in season 3 Ruby said demons killed them all. A demon can just lie about a deal now (Crowley said he WILL return Bobby's soul). Sisters of fate. And my personal favorite... They can now travel universes and the spell is so fkn simple: BOBBY HAS EVERYTHING THEY NEED FOR IT. And all of this... just season six. Now I will admit first seasons also had a few weird moments here and there but MUCH less and it was for the sake of the story. Not the writer's ego.
Lots of really great theories here! I particularly like the idea that Crowley was desperate to shed his human weakness and all the misery that came with it to become a demon. It makes great sense from a character standpoint. Also, having recently discovered this channel, I’d like to say that I adore your content. The way you approach your theories is such a perfect mix of engaging writing and scholarly reasoning. I really admire the way you put things together!
I believe it has to do with his mother being a natural witch even though he doesn't have the same power the potential is in his blood that's what I believe makes he smoke red
My theory about Crowley has always been kinda similar to yours, either that the truth of his deal (since you only hear about his deal from his son who he could've lied too) was for supernatural power that carried over to hell, or just to be a powerful demon when he died, or knowing about demons already through his mother he just made some BS deal so he could become a demon. Either that or he's a natural witch like his mother and that carries over.
I've always thought it was because he was more human. You can see through the show that the way he thinks and acts is different than the other demons. He actually makes attachments that aren't just superficial. So I really like your theory that he wanted to become a demon and in doing so allowed some of his humanity to survive.
Or its much more simple. He likes the flair and style and having a special color would be a reminder to lesser and younger demons that he is king. Knowing a bit of witchcraft from his mother he found a ritual to perform to change him.
My headcanon is that he was a fallen angel reborn as a human like Ana, and when he made the demon deal and turned into a demon he loosed his ability to hear angel radio, because he said to Naomi they had a good time in Mesopotamia or something like that, meaning he was ANCIENT almost like an angel
Personally, I think it was just something simple. Say, when he became King of the Crossroads, he made a deal with someone and said "I want to be red. I just want to stand out." That, or I do like the idea of a vampire or werewolf who gets sent to Hell because of a deal - because I like this kind of mixing of themes or genres and we never really see this on Supernatural. Remember that when we see Benny's soul (before he recovers his body) it's also red unlike normal human souls.
I thought the red smoke was due to his mom being a witch ....perhaps she did a spell that worked. (long term) She was an avit Lucifer follower so it not to much of a stretch. Offer her child's soul, Lucifer not wanting something so annoying bothering hem ignores it causing regena to hate Fergus and tainting his blood at the same time. marking hem for the pit but then he sells his soul to be a demon sooner, asking for 3inch as part of a side deal as Crawley tended to do.....fine print and all
I figure that being king of hell allowed him to change the color of his smoke. The other kings just never wanted to do it or thought it try it. I believe it wasn't ever addressed in the show because they never thought it would explain it originally, and after that, it wouldn't make sense to explain it after a little while.
I like theory 3. Though I'd propose a variant where he made the demon deal specifically to avoid Purgatory (which is pretty in character & explains why someone so conivingly smart would sell their soul for more willie)
I always thought it was because he was a crossroads demon AND king. partially because he's the only crossroads demon to ever be king, a way in which he's unique, which would explain why no one else is red.
Here's an idea: He wanted to become a demon from the get-go- something he would know awaited him, probably, because his mom is a very powerful, well read witch who would probably understand the nature of demons- but realized that just wishing to become a demon as part of a crossroads deal is kind of a waste of a crossroads deal, so he decided to wish for something in life he could have some real fun with. So he wished for a bigger willy. Though not as powerful as his mother at witchcraft, Crowley was probably a witch himself, so most of the things he wanted were attainable through witchcraft. He could have wealth. He probably already had some degree of power with his witchcraft. But maybe he wanted to have a legendary weiner. It's also possible he straight up lied about the nature of his deal. It could be that his smoke is red because he actually wished to become a powerful demon. I mean, think about it. He's what, 400 years old? How does a guy from Scottland go from wishing for a bigger willy to climbing the ladder in Hell? A lot of the demons down there are thousands of years old. Lilith is as old as humanity. Alastair is probably not far behind her. The Princes and Knights of Hell are all very old too. So being only a few centuries into the whole hell game makes him a bit of an upstart. Surely there are older, better demons to run the crossroads? Unless that was Crowley's wish from the start. Another possibility: He made his deal with Lilith herself. It's possible that, somehow, maybe through witchcraft, he called Lilith from the pit. Or perhaps she wasn't locked up at that point in time. Perhaps she hadn't yet been exorcised. Maybe the Devil's Gate used to be open until Colt sealed it. If so, we know that deals with Lilith are special. They require more than a kiss. You have to sleep with her to make a deal with her. Well, maybe sleeping with Lilith to get your deal alters your soul in a way that shows, making your smoke red. In fact, perhaps that's why Crowley asked for a bigger willy. Maybe he was going to ask for something different, but when she told him how they would seal it, he changed his mind. Maybe she was so impressed that she made him king of the crossroads. Sleeping his way to the top of the hell ladder is definitely a Crowley thing to do. Another thought is just by virtue of him being a witch his soul would be different. Maybe most demons weren't witches before their deaths. Maybe the ones who are have different colored smoke. I mean, I would expect Rowena's smoke to be that kind of violet color her eyes turned when she broke the sealing spell on her powers, should she become a demon- it's actually unclear if she will. She rules hell, but was not tortured, so it's unclear if she will actually become a demon.
I had to rewind to make sure I heard you correctly and yes you infact said rougarou, I love it as I rarely ever hear anyone outside Louisiana ever say it!

Your videos are making me want to finish my Supernatural dnd book. I love the idea of Crowley embracing being a demon, and because of that, still having the Fragments of Fargus within him. I do think he had more fragments of humanity after the human blood arc, and I agree with another comment that said he was probably skimming soles off the top, unlike Lilith and Azazel.
I think out of all of the theories, I like the last one the most. It definitely makes sense that someone willingly jumping into it would be special in some kind of way.
I am a massive fan of supernatural and have watched it ever since day one and I legitimately can't believe I didn't realize until just now there has never been a case of a monster selling their soul to a demon and I'm really surprised the showrunner never explored that for a storyline
So I have been rewatching supernatural and this is unrelated to this video but when Sam came back soulless I always wondered why he wasn’t drinking demon blood again since his morale meter was gone and for him power was power
I think he did in one instance. Or maybe it was he bit himself and used the blood to draw a devil trap. I think the reason he didn't though is because it had negative physical or psychological effects on him. So he could 100% ignore the desire for demon blood while still getting over juicing up when he vesseled lucifer
I believe it's cuz Lucifer got what he wanted. The demon blood was so he could be a super charged vessel for Luci. Cuz if you remember it was the demons influencing him to take demon blood, after they stopped insisting-Sam wasn't tempted anymore.
I’ve always assumed Crowley got to the top by skimming power off the top. He’s a sleazy deal maker, i wouldn’t be surprised if he’d tapped into power over the years.
I’m so glad you mentioned the possibility of him being a angel I thought something similar literally because he was always carrying a angel blade and had it appear the same way the angels did through his sleeve maybe he was a early angel who decided to want to be human and force his grace out and made himself be reborn as a human to rowena and wanted to see what it was alike as a demon so made a deal for the most stupid reason he could think of and kept his idenity on the down low by becoming a demon under a human deal it would be off the angels radar
I would go either with him choosing to become a Demon but with still some parts of his human side still existing within, or because of his intelligence, he was able to do as you said, take some of the power for himself. He's like the 'Peter Hale' of the Supernatural Universe, at each level he's actually smarter and stronger that his opponents of a similar level. So it's entirely plausible he would be able to change something about himself to stand out.
I just kind of assumed it came from him not just being a crossroads demon but king of the crossroads. And then further mutates when he took over the power of hell. We viewed him being able to screw with contracts in a visible way that no one else had done before as well as Cancel them with a wave of his hand. Although done as king of hell we never saw any ruler touch those things before.
We see Dick Roman make a deal with Crowley himself. Unfortunately, we don't know what became of him after he was killed by the magic bone. It's never said that it erased his existence. If that was just the way to kill him, specifically, he never shows up again and it's never mentioned where he ended up, but considering his death explosion pullled Dean into purgatory, he's likely been there reconstituting.
Pls make more of these Demon vids, I thoroughly enjoy them 🙏, Also do you have any theories for season 16, now that all major enemy's have gone i.e. Chuck, Amara, Lucifer, Micheal, Empty and every demon worth their salt
He was Lilith's Right hand man and the King of the Crossroads. Maybe being the lead crossroads demon came with a few extra perks. Or perhaps Lilith helped him stand out a bit more as a token of his service. Or to decorate him better when he was seen with her.
My personal view is that crossroads demons are essentially traders and are given a lot of freedom on their conduct especially crowley. I think it was because of a deal he made that tainted his soul further than just being a demon. Essentially he used his trade on himself or tried to which probably didn't work and cost a further taint. This is similar to how graces can be charged with souls or angels can absorb other angels. Maybe he absorbed other demons for more power. Basically I think the cause is completely related to what fergus was doing after he became a demon. He did something other demons didn't that tainted his soul even more or maybe purified it ever so slightly essentially making him different.
I always thought of it as it being because he's the King of Hell, I mean Asmodeus ruled as King for awhile but as Prince of Hell he's not a normal Demon so that's why his isn't different but it isn't a very solid theory, I just couldn't think of anything else Also glad I found this channel Supernatural is pretty much my whole life, I'm on my 13th rewatch (didn't start watching till S8 or else that number would be higher) and I'm currently tracking stats like deaths, saves, monster kills both which things get the most kills by the end, and which ones they kill, along with if Sam or Dean gets the most kills, and every State they go to so I can see which State has the most Monsters, stuff like that so it's cool to have a channel that seems dedicated to the show that I love so much Also I do love your idea of him wanting to become a Demon though or that he just changed it for intimidation factor that's hilarious
My headcanon is that Crowley has always lied about his own crossroads deal. Adding three inches to an already larger than average size is just the kind of vain, frivolous, and short sighted thing that people could (barely) believe and that belief would shape their impression of him. He would be underestimated, which he would use to his own advantage.
So here is a theory, the show claimed Crowley was conceived during a solstice orgy. So Rowena was channeling demonic powers as a witch. Crowley was able to possess a body (Sam) that was possessed by an angel. The show hints that angels reproduced to create nephilims. So what if Crowley was part witch, part demon and part nephilim to create a supercharged demon.
1:45 Small, tiny semantics note: 1723 is the 18th century, not the 17th. It's a bit easier to remember the distinction when you realize that 100 AD was the begining of the 2nd century; or that 99 AD was the end of the 1st century.
I always just assumed it was because he was the king of the crossroads demons, so since regular crossroads demons had red eyes he was distinguished further with red smoke not just the red eyes.
(Given who his mother is; quite likely if his father were to be in the show, he'd likely be not completely human.) One other thing to consider is that his mother may have used him as testsubject for some witchcraft, maybe some protection spells on his soul that mutated when he was transforming into a demon.
Personally i think it is because in the beginning before he was the king he was a cross roads demon and a lot of crossroads demons had red eyes just like how Crowley did i think that is why.
his smoke is red because hes not just a normal crossroads demon he is the KING of the crossroads demons ( later becoming the king of hell as well) as such holds all of the contracts to all of the deals
Before we go any further, i don't have good theory on the smoke color of Crowley but my theory is it is related to his eye color somehow. Im well aware that he is the only demon we know of with smoke matching the eye color as every other demon we see in smoke form, their smoke is black. So, maybe it's specific to the King or Queen of Hell. I do know 1 thing though... Crowley looks extra menacing when he shows his red eyes.
Most simple answer, he actually wasn't a demon. I know the backstory yadda, yadda but even the actor was quoted that his eyes never flashed and that he wasn't actually a demon.
If Crowley is good at one thing, it's about knowing things. Especially really obscure information. That is clear though him always knowing what things are, where they may be, etc. So likely it is either an ability, spell, or manipulation of how demons work that he knows that others don't.
I love this. Able to say the deal was for three inches “to hit double digits” and have that be true but as the abandoned son of a witch with a little knowledge and no power, the deal to really self-actualize and invent himself makes sense.
My theory is because Crowley legit became the King by winning the position. The position of who rules Hell goes from Lucifer to Lilith, to the Princes of Hell (from oldest to youngest). While they rule Hell, they didn't really win it, they only inherit it. Granted I don't think winning and becoming King of Hell is that major of a boost in power, but Crowley never really lost his Throne except by Lucifer himself. I would argue that Ramiel thought as much hence why he picked Crowley to be King.
When Crowley first appeared I thought he was based off real life Alistair Crowley which was a real life demon and that's why in the show he's considered a king. The real life Crowley even wrote a demon book
I think that while Crowley did not inherit the ability to use magic like his mother, he was still the child of a natural-born Witch/magic being. Thus I think that is why his demonic form looks different. Ruby got her magic from the deal she made with a crossroads demon so it was not natural to her. Thus when she became a demon, she was like any human turned demon. Crowley however, being the child of a natural-born witch (These are very rare according to in universe lore), he had magic in his blood but no way to tap into it, that is until he became a demon. This would also explain why Crowley seemed to be more powerful then typical demons, because his demonic power had a touch of extra kick to it due to his magic heritage.
The only problem I see with it being red because he chose to be a demon is that there would definitely be others who ahve as well and Crowley has been the only one we've seen
Before he was “The King of Hell”, he was “King of the Crossroads” that was why I figured he was red smoke and eyes. Figured like how eye color seemed to indicate how powerful a demon was. It simply showed an increase in power level. Like how fire changes color based on the temperature. Black= Basic/low level White= General/high level Red = Lord/much higher level. Yellow= Prince/Princess of Hell.
Exactly. It is his personality to be unique and different. If you think about it, he did separate himself from all the other demons. I am guessing he just changed his smoke to stand out.
I think, personally, the reason Crowley's smoke was 'red' was because he was very powerful. He was so powerful that the 'Darkness' couldn't take his soul, so she took other demons' souls until Crowley forbade it. If you think about it, if the Darkness could have taken his soul, she would have. I'm not saying she couldn't kill him; I'm saying she couldn't suck his soul out. Crowley has also stated that he has a stash of souls, and he even gave 50,000 to Castiel to take on his brother. Also, when Rowena froze Crowley in place, Crowley actually stated that it was impossible. Plus, Crowley was the only demon who could kill other demons by clicking his fingers, and he was feared by other demons. Even the knights of hell (Abaddon) didn't dare make a move against him in a one and fight until he was tied up and Vice versa. In Crowley's case, it wasn't just in name; he had power, and also he could take on the power of God without burning up like when he absorbed the power of god from one of the objects.
Honestly my thinking is that he consumed knowledge(think of the fruit), what i mean by this is Crowley, unlike other demons is quick to learn to any secret compared to others, he traded for something else aside from just the extra size after getting down to hell.
Yeah, that can work. Still, kinda makes you wonder why there aren't more like him, when time stretches for milenia, is kinda hard to imagine crowley was the first one.
I always thought his were red because of one of three reason 1 because he was king of hell 2 a spell he learned that gave him a boost in power or 3 lucifer change it himself to make it harder for him to hide lol😅
i like the ginger theory since its said that gingers have no soul. so how can you sell a soul that you dont have? it also could just be that he had some potential as a witch but his mom was disappointed with that potential so he never knew. so a witch becoming a demon could possibly produce a different color
I would assume it to be because he started as the lowest form of demon and gradually rises up to KoC. Which is why he can teleport, so why not also his color?
Honestly based on the eye color that is the color of the smoke that it should be I always thought it was weird that yellow eyes Azieal smoke was not yellow.. Same goes for all of the knight of hell because they were the most powerful demons in the supernatural universe but their smoke was not yellow even though their eyes are yellow...
Crowley being an angel in a past life is a cool albeit stupid theory. I love it though despite all lack of evidence. It would be super cool for him to start good, turn evil and come back to the light. At the end he was basically a good guy. Sort of redemption before he went
1. 7", sold his soul to hit double digits (10"). 2. Crowley was different from Lilith & Azazael because he would have received a huge power boost by becoming King, where as Lilith, Azazael, and the rest of the "Kings of Hell" were First Demon, Princes of Hell, or Knights of Hell (or an Archangel); essentially they didn't turn red because they didn't need to be boosted, they were created to be powerful enough to rule. The Red Smoke could just be what happens when a demon, crossroads or otherwise, gets such a huge power-up post creation.
I have something to add to this theory. Did we ever see what crossroad demons looked like before Crowley took over? Maybe they didn't have red eyes? They may have red eyes because they contain a small amount of Crowley's power as a way of initiating them into Crowley's particular group.
Lilith and Azazel ruled hell under Lucifer. Crowley was his own King.

Did you know Azazel screwed us more than Lucifer could ever could

It’s not that they didn’t care it’s that Eric Kripke left.( He now writes the boys) He was the real brains behind the show without him the series while still fun lost it’s tighter story telling
😂😂😂
This man speaks great truth! 😢😅
I just want to stand out."
That, or I do like the idea of a vampire or werewolf who gets sent to Hell because of a deal - because I like this kind of mixing of themes or genres and we never really see this on Supernatural.
In fact we actually see what Crowley looks like in season 9 when he gets his neck snapped by abadon
Great video. I always figured it was just basically. "But these ones go to eleven."
Idk, I always thought it was due to his king of the cross road title
It was nothing more than a title. They just called him that because of how good he is at it
@@TheHellyeahmen If I remember correctly he was the leader of the crossroad demons. So it’s a bit more than an empty title.
@@bloodoftheunicorns2621 he wasn't their leader. He was just very good at his "job" that's why they called him a king
@@TheHellyeahmen The Winchester brothers were looking for who held the contract for their souls, and it was Crowley. The reason why Crowley held the contract is because he is the leader of the crosswords demons. He was their leader because he’s good at his job.
@@bloodoftheunicorns2621 you're imagining things. A lot. When the Winchesters were looking for "who holds the contract" it was Lilith. She had ALL the contracts. And it weren't their souls it was just Dean's
Later Crowley held bobby's soul BECAUSE HE'S THE ONE WHO MADE THE DEAL
Lilith was dead already and Crowly became the king OF HELL
him being the crossroads king has NOTHING to do with it
And please stop replying. You clearly forgotten the show
Thank you for talking about this! The color changes make me nuts.
Love your theory, and thank you for the great content. Thanks 😊
Always thought it was because of the fact that he may be half-demon, half-wizard (from his mother)
Because the writers didn't care anymore, that's why Sam's plot about demon powers and demon blood didn't matter after season 5.
So it's entirely plausible he would be able to change something about himself to stand out.
bro we need more vids your voice is pretty smooth and im using your vids as background
Commenting for the algorithm. Love the content bro
"when they leave a hole fans try to fill it" **ahem** yes. yes we would... i mean do.
I appreciate your alliteration
I always thought of it as it being because he's the King of Hell, I mean Asmodeus ruled as King for awhile but as Prince of Hell he's not a normal Demon so that's why his isn't different but it isn't a very solid theory, I just couldn't think of anything else
Also glad I found this channel Supernatural is pretty much my whole life, I'm on my 13th rewatch (didn't start watching till S8 or else that number would be higher) and I'm currently tracking stats like deaths, saves, monster kills both which things get the most kills by the end, and which ones they kill, along with if Sam or Dean gets the most kills, and every State they go to so I can see which State has the most Monsters, stuff like that so it's cool to have a channel that seems dedicated to the show that I love so much
Also I do love your idea of him wanting to become a Demon though or that he just changed it for intimidation factor that's hilarious
Dean - "so you sold your soul for a couple extra notches under your belt?"
Crowley - "just wanted to hit double digits."

Small, tiny semantics note:
1723 is the 18th century, not the 17th. It's a bit easier to remember the distinction when you realize that 100 AD was the begining of the 2nd century; or that 99 AD was the end of the 1st century.
Some say because cowley eyes are red or he was a fallan angel before he was born as Fergus. Maybe the writers should tell us. Interesting theorys. 👽👍
Love this theory and fully agree
I always just assumed it was because he was the king of the crossroads demons, so since regular crossroads demons had red eyes he was distinguished further with red smoke not just the red eyes.
Now we need a wth is the empty video
I remember thinking their eye color determined their smoke color. Crowley was red with Red eyes and the Yellow Eyed demon was yellow smoke.
(Given who his mother is; quite likely if his father were to be in the show, he'd likely be not completely human.)
One other thing to consider is that his mother may have used him as testsubject for some witchcraft, maybe some protection spells on his soul that mutated when he was transforming into a demon.
Personally i think it is because in the beginning before he was the king he was a cross roads demon and a lot of crossroads demons had red eyes just like how Crowley did i think that is why.
He was just wanting to hit double digits. :)
his smoke is red because hes not just a normal crossroads demon he is the KING of the crossroads demons ( later becoming the king of hell as well) as such holds all of the contracts to all of the deals
I know the backstory yadda, yadda but even the actor was quoted that his eyes never flashed and that he wasn't actually a demon.
i always thought his smoke was red because he was king
but it has been years since i watched the show, re-watching it this year
If Crowley is good at one thing, it's about knowing things. Especially really obscure information. That is clear though him always knowing what things are, where they may be, etc. So likely it is either an ability, spell, or manipulation of how demons work that he knows that others don't.
Remember, crowley was a crossroads demon, and from my memory, I believe that all crossroad demons appear in red smoke. Either that, or im high.
I love that idea if so I'd so the same it sounds like a great form of Immortality
It’s probably a mark of shame ascribed to the lesser liked demons.
I love this. Able to say the deal was for three inches “to hit double digits” and have that be true but as the abandoned son of a witch with a little knowledge and no power, the deal to really self-actualize and invent himself makes sense.
He roles around in red paint
My theory is because Crowley legit became the King by winning the position. The position of who rules Hell goes from Lucifer to Lilith, to the Princes of Hell (from oldest to youngest). While they rule Hell, they didn't really win it, they only inherit it. Granted I don't think winning and becoming King of Hell is that major of a boost in power, but Crowley never really lost his Throne except by Lucifer himself. I would argue that Ramiel thought as much hence why he picked Crowley to be King.
I always assumed It was red to mark him as the king of t crossroads.
Im pretty sure when crowley was first introduced on the show his smoke was black and only became red later in the show if i remember right
When Crowley first appeared I thought he was based off real life Alistair Crowley which was a real life demon and that's why in the show he's considered a king.
Always thought Crowley enhanced his host and soul with magic.
Before he was “The King of Hell”, he was “King of the Crossroads” that was why I figured he was red smoke and eyes. Figured like how eye color seemed to indicate how powerful a demon was. It simply showed an increase in power level. Like how fire changes color based on the temperature.
Black= Basic/low level
White= General/high level
Red = Lord/much higher level.
Yellow= Prince/Princess of Hell.
Branding as a salesman
I always just liked the idea that he was the only one that cared enough to just say, I’m red smoke demon now.
Exactly. It is his personality to be unique and different. If you think about it, he did separate himself from all the other demons. I am guessing he just changed his smoke to stand out.
What is your opinion on power scaling and vsbattles (vsbattles as in "Who would win?")?
I always thought it was because he trained hard
Im pretty sure its said its cuz he’s specifically crossroads demon
Crowley was smart. That is what I liked about him.
Was he seen smoking out before he got his bones back? Maybe he did something with his bones to protect himself that caused his smoke to change
He is the only demon to own the moon, must be this
0:34 While it may look like smoke. That is in fact a tortured and mutilated soul.
Crowley should be the new god he deserves a new arc
Crossroads demons have red eyes, so maybe he as the king of the Crossroads has red smoke as well.
I saw you like this at the same time I did lol 😂
I always looked at different smoke colors meaning different levels of power or ranking.
