It looks like they did indeed send this out as an e-mail as I was in the process of posting this video. Also, is it just me, or does AE posting this update on holiday weekend come across as a way to bury their own news?

I think you’re right; they will declare bankruptcy at some point. They should at least get rid of the total nonsense on their website about there ever being a physical console, because there won’t ever be one.
The saga of this thing is more amusing than the console could ever be.
And you just know their gonna kick the can down the road again when "in a few weeks" the iOS release doesn't happen.

I went to FB to read this but I couldn’t find Intellivision’s page. Couldn’t find it. Looks like they blocked me. Don’t remember ever going on the page before. Maybe went once and got banned. Maybe it was them being proactive.
They realized they're not fooling anyone except for the people they've already suckered.

Whoever is left would be better off going out and getting neighbourhood lawn mowing jobs to raise money at this point.
I never invested in the Amico anyway. Nor did I get into the VCS due to drama before people actually experienced the thing. The only 3rd party system I got into during the past few years after past bad experience is the Evercade, which turned out pretty good despite some questionable collections.
At least Mike Kennedy and the Coleco Chameleon played Super Nintendo games. An HDMI SNES with homebrew would have been cool.
Not much to look forward if you use the download code, to play the pack-in games; zero excitement when/ IF unboxing the Amico console, sometime in the future, now what to play, hmm.. already already played the pack in games. Normally, for myself the biggest highlight of any new console, is playing the NEW games, on the NEW console.
And these games all kind of suck! There are better versions of what's on offer on other platforms.

I want to know how much they got paid for the Intellivision brand.
Given how they've actually scaled back their operations even further, and John being forced to take on more responsibilities(like handling the refund requests himself), I wouldn't be surprise if Atari got it for next to nothing. A good chunk of whatever they go paid immediately went toward settling that furniture rental lawsuit. They also have huge amounts of debt that are going to mature near the end of the year.

Good video! I noticed on one of the Amico Facebook groups, that someone asked where are the refunds for people that ordered the Founder's Day Edition of the Amico! I liked that person's question on Facebook. I got a reply from Amico telling me to send them an email! Because, I did order one of the Founder's Day Edition of the Amico. I did email them back, I have not heard anything yet! Not sure I will! Just wanted to pass this along!
Why is atari creep getting so combative about amico nowadays? He is a cool dude i just dont understand how anyone could support this company after all that's happened.

Atari can't even manufacture any new Atari 2600+ controllers that are the same as the ones that the VCS from the 80s used, the replacement 26000+ Joystick Controllers still list as Pre Order on Atari's Webpage for the 2600+.
Amico can't use the "Running Man", but can they use the "Rebel Man"? He he ha ha, this is fitting for the "Amico" brand right now.
I personally would've went with "Blue Sky Rangers Amico", but if Atari does develop "Intellivision games" on Amico, then Intellivison fans will still be happy with Amico being a "modern Intellivision console".
Casuals, the target market, will be mostly indifferent between "Intellivision", "Amico", or "BSR".
I honestly believed the Amico had potential. Once Tommy Tallarico called critics of the Amico console "gaming racists" the console was doomed.
It was never meant to be anything but a pump & dump. They intended to sell off the entire company before it came time to fulfill any obligation.
It never had potential, it was an insanely stupid and naive idea.

Even then, the Wii and Nintendo did all of which the Amico could do and do more and better... With thousands of family games.
The Amico was doomed from the get go based on the restrictions of the console....

Maybe as a successor to Mattel’s only other console…HyperScan…which it was kind of in reality with its RFID cards, pathetic games and incredibly short shelf life:
