This is exactly what I was looking for!Short, simple AND it works! I can now use my iphoneX as my webcam when i’m recording or streaming. For me it’s definitely worth the $8 purchase. A new webcam would have easily been 4X that amount and the familiarity and quality of the iphone camera is less frustrating and actually yields pretty decent results!

It worked exactly as you discribed it - painlessly! Cost me $10.99 here in Canada, but after buying it, following your instructions, I suddenly had my iPhone 8 Plus as a webcam - a much better image than I had off of my laptop, and now I have the luxury of using my 27" monitor as my screen instead of the smaller laptop. You saved me having to go out and buy ANOTHER camera. Smart! Thank You!

I had an iPhone 6 laying around and it works perfect as a webcam. Even the built in audio sounds great. I wouldn’t even bother buying a webcam if you have an old iPhone.Thanks for the recommendation!

Couple things I check before subscribing to a channel. 1. Did I get anything from the video(information or entertainment) 2) how was the person in the video and 3) are they a dead channel or still uploading.

I have been experimenting with my 5c iPhone as a webcam because I have a typical cheap camera on my laptop. I was looking for an inexpensive app that would allow me to connect my phone to my PC to use as a webcam and you have solved that problem for me.

Really love how you explain things sir, you make it sounds so simple. Can you please show us how to use DSLR as a webcam? I'm using a Canon 80D.
Standard usb cable, download cam twist and camera live and that's all you need.
Somewhere on CZcams there's a tutorial, but in camtwist select Syphon, choose camera live

Keep in mind that the videos geared more toward Fujifilm. I also have a Canon 80D and I believe Canon just released some software that will allow their cameras to be considered WebCams. Thanks! So I just tried to connect it to zoom it worked however Facebook and golightstream (streams to fb, twitch, etc) does not recognize the camera. :( why is that?

Works great thanks. I spend some time looking for a better option to my laptop webcam, I tested this option with Zoom and Skype the image quality it´s good even in the free version.
I use this with a tripod for Ubeesize, had a piece to use the smartphone and works great.
Are you using this with an iPhone? Android users don't seem at all happy with the recommended app.

i tried with Zoom, Skype, WeBex and Google Meet.
Suffice to say, in order to get the option to choose the camera, you must use the web version of the meeting client.
I tried my desktop installed Skype and desktop installed WeBex; no option to choose the source camera appear.
I'm using Macbook 13 inch 2016 by the way.
I have the same issue
Install a webcam software such as cyberlink youcam and the epoccam will popup from that source
I use the desktop version of Zoom and my iPad as the camera with EpocCam.
@@FLFwv I'm doing same thing, but my desktop is a Mac mini. I cannot get EpocCam on my iPad to find the mac mini via USB cable, but the connection works fine using WiFi. Would prefer to use the cable because I assume less latency, etc., but seems to work pretty well with WiFi.

We agree that the prices are over inflated. Another useful solution that we have found is that if you use the IP Webcam application on Android with no additional downloads on desktop. Once you start the apps cam server it will give you and IP Address for your local network eg. @t Append /jsfs.html to the IP address for the cam on your local network (@t. Then you can use place that URL into your OBS, XSpliter, or Browser and have a network IP cam. Hope this helps someone as well. We use Galaxy S10 which has a good quality camera anyway. We have no affiliation with this application for the record.

The EpocCam setup works fine, but Zoom does not recognize it as a second camera.

I think you need to change the default camera in the camera settings on whatever browser you use. I changed my default camera in Chrome from webcam to EpocCam Camera so it would use as my webcam.

Than you So much-! I mistakenly bought a high configuration gaming laptop without seeing that it does not have web cam. Your video solves the problem- But I request to all that please check before you select that a laptop includes a web cam. As specification will not give you the information that it does not have web cam

Don't use fast chargers just use the default charger it came with. Hope this works :)

Hi Blink, thank you ! I have not noticed a huge latency with this - but much of this will depend on your bitrate as well as what applications you have running in the background on your computer, and of course even the capture software itself.
So I’ve got 2 part question, if I’m using my iPhone as a the web cam. I’m assuming that application on my pc records the video... (1) Am I able to take that video from that application and edit it through premier pro? (2) should purchase some type of dangle to enable the direct lighting port, so that way I can use my iPhone boom mic as well?

This channel has 99.9% education videos on photography and received zero money from this app developer. In the description of the video I've recommended actually not getting that app based on their lowered feedback and recommended others instead.
Very helpful video in getting me going again with a decent camera (my phone!) so I've shared it under my video about starting again with the right equipment, in the comments.
Are you able to connect your iphone to the laptop using a USB hub? I couldn't get my Mac to see the phone when using a standard USB hub and the standard chord they give you to charging the phone.
Hi - great video thanks! Appears to be a compatibility issue with epocCam and Zoom 5.0.1 however - the camera is not selectable in settings. No problem with Skype... hope they fix it. Thanks again....
Wow it looks great, but it only works via USB connection on the Mac, not Windows. I imagine this could be an issue with bandwidth when transferring 1080p from the camera to computer via wifi and conducting a video call over the same wifi.
@pal2tech Good Video, but i got the payed version and i cant get 1080 on my Macbook Pro from my Iphone 10 over USB or Wifi! Just 720.. And my Settings are set to 1080! Tryed both front and rear cam on iPhone... This is frustrating.. Got some hints or tips? thank you.
Problem solved! This 1080p issue remains until i started Quicktime to connect to my iphone 10. Then it worked with epoccam too. Wierd issue - but this was for me the workaround-trick..
I'm tech-challenged. Question: If you are using the iphone as a webcam, are you draining the battery as well or is it constantly charging? When I'm on a long phone call, by the end of the call I don't have much battery life remaining. Thanks.

I got the demo version followed the instructions connected with usb. I had camera opened visual but zoom does not let me choose EpocCam in video settings, only facetime

The mirrorless camera as a webcam looked amazing. Not surprising since it is a dedicated camera but the iPhone 11 looks good too.

thank you for your video. I bought the Epoccam and it worked for a while, now that I updated the Mac software Monterey 12.0.1, Epoccam doesn't work anymore. Instead of working as a camera, the video records the screen, even if I select "new video," on QuickTime. The video shows all the commands that are on the screen (the red button, the lock zoom, the flash icon), so it's mirroring the Iphone screen instead of being a camera. Very frustrating, do you know how to fix that? I've installed and reinstalled both the app and the driver, no luck. Thank you!
It's more expensive to trade in my mom's old phone and purchase a decent webcam than it is for me to repurpose the thing! Looks like I'll be using the method in this video. Very impressive stuff from Corsair!

It will have a delay. Specially if you connect through WiFi. But you can fix it by buffering the audio a couple seconds to sync with your video feed

Hi Liew, yes, I believe that should be possible. I know that it works with OBS and if you use that you should be able to connect in to any kind of content publishers such as Facebook and make it work.
theres an OBS app for your phone , no need to download EpocCam if your going to use OBS anyway
