I’ve just reread the books and I missed it the first time, but in the book the sheriff from Valdosta became the judge that dismissed the case because his daughter had been knocked up by Frank. Bennett.
Idgie doesn't look scared of him at all. Because she's not.

A good chunk of his career is roles like that. Woodstock from Ace Ventura. Ratsy from The Quick and the Dead. He’s so awesome in those supporting roles. 🙂

Well, it's too bad that he won't find a hair knowing that he's eating Frank at this time of the movie. They only ended up finding Frank's truck and still accused Idgie of murder. Like the judge said, Frank's body went down river on a hunch.

For there to be a murder there has to be a body but you go right on and finish up your BBQ

The court scenes are supposed to be in Georgia because Frank was from Valdosta and that’s where the jurisdiction of the case was.

@@redmr2na In the book, Bennett had one glass eye. And years later like 50 years after the trial, a construction crew finds pig skulls and one human skull with a glass eye buried where they are breaking ground. You see in the book, Sipsy had this superstition that the skulls had to be buried.
