I actually love the Atari 5200 version because is the best port of the arcade on atari (personal opinion) also with a GREAT game over music, just listen: 2:01
Funfact: In the death sprite in atari 7800 they used the same death sprite from Donkey kong (also in atari 7800) obviously instead of white skin and blue t-shirt, they used tan skin and light blue t-shirt.
I actually love the gba version because you get to hear Mario say oh! Not a meatball 🧆 and can't catcha! When you take a hit just listen 👂11:00 11:07 and 11:20
Fun fact: Mario's model for that version is also the model for super Mario advance 1

Considering both versions of SMB3 basically recreated Mario Bros but for a battle mode. I find it weird neither went the extra step and just made the arcade game with it. Would’ve been cool to have more versions in between the mid 80’s and 2001 at least to me. Mario Bros. with All Stars graphics would’ve been fire.
Yeah, it's sad to see such a classic game never got a proper remaster. It would have been awesome.
@@Retromantra the GBA version is pretty good remake though. (Even including the falling icicles, and third bonus game that were left out of the NES version.) A new one would be cool though.

You Forgot the SNES. In Mario all stars go to Super Mario bros 3 then in the Super Mario Bros 3 menu select Battle Mode and you can Play Mario Bros
There is no Game Over in that. So what's the point of including it.
In Japan called Famicom (Family Computer).
But Kaettekita Mario Bros was released on the Famicom Disk System, a peripheral that plugs into the Famicom cartridge slot that allowed you to play games on floppy disks.
I think the NES Pal version was the best.

For a while now
I have *some* arcade knowledge from working on some arcade units and boards, and some of the boards I've worked on have volume controls on them; sometimes the systems have multiple sound chips, and you gotta balance them out. I never worked on Mario Bros. or Donkey Kong Junior, but I wonder if they have volume controls to balance them better

Granted, they let Hamster rerelease their old arcade games as part of their Arcade Archives lineup on Switch.
They also let companies like Capcom, Namco/Bandai, Sega, and Konami handle their properties before. (Like Zelda, F-Zero, and StarFox.)
