  • Today we take a look around BBC Elstree Centre, Eldon Ave, Borehamwood WD6 1NL.
    We was hoping to take the drone up and over the old and new Eastenders sets after seeing this video on CZcams - • Video
    However, the whole area is in a Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) so we decide not to.
    We visit every gate and have a good nosey around the publicly accessible areas.
    We speak to a few security staff at 2 seperate gates who both tell us we cannot film. One rude security member greets me with the words "SEE YA LATER". How Rude!
    Enjoy!

    I love how assertive you were here, when needed; while remaining absolutely professional and polite throughout. It's as though you were a school teacher: telling off the first security guard (schoolboy 1), while also giving him a lesson in manners; then rewarding the second security guard (schoolboy 2) for good behaviour and following correct protocol. Schoolboy 2 then became an example for schoolboy 1 to follow. Everybody wins. Excellent audit. And, your courage really shined.

    Bit of trivia; You mentioned in your video about Elstree Centre also housing the set for Holby City. Well, at the end of the video, when you walked passed those black gates again, the tall building to the left, was in fact the Holby City set. The building it’s self is Neptune House- an office block built by ATV, when they took control of the site and extensively remodelled it, from being a film studio to one being purposely equipped for television. The exact same part of the building, which is now dressed as a hospital entrance, was previously the exterior of Grange Hill School. Just beyond those black gates, again to your left, was the drive way into Grange Hill. Where many scenes of the kids coming and leaving the school and where the water fountain, which Imelda Davies got pushed into by Ziggy were shot.

    Good point about the trespassing and parking a caravan. Trespass in the UK is not the same as the US. In the US, it's black and white - stick a toe over the line and you get arrested. In the UK, because it's a civil matter, the owner has to show that they suffered a loss and that's why they are suing the trespasser. So stepping one foot one foot over the line will not get anywhere in court as the owner can't be suffering any loss to the ability to enjoy their property. Not unless their property is 1' square. So just walking across private property is trespass but if you don't do anything to damage it, not even leaving footprints and no one is around, then the owner hasn't suffered any loss. But walking across private property when the owner is using it means that the owner is losing the ability to enjoy their land. Same with parking a caravan on the land means that the owner has to share their property with others and that is a loss. The loss can be financial, time, ability to use the land, or anything that can have a value placed on it.

    Would i be correct in assuming that a private road and private property are not the same thing. There did not appear to be any signage that prohibited the free movement of pedestrians along that roadway, or vehicles for that matter, and so the case could be made that the name of the roadway is " PRIVATE ROAD " .

    I’ve learned a lot by watching videos and researching. I find a lot of the time it’s rarely law it’s just bluff and bluster where a person assumes authority and mostly ordinary people think they will be in trouble by disobeying. The laws are so varied it could be an old law the authorities use to get you for something it was never intended for. Police get away with an awful lot that they shouldn’t just because they have the power and no one to stop them using it. It is all smoke and mirrors.

    All comes down to RESPECT,,, everything in life,, most situations,,, and how humans have lost that respect for one another is so apparent in this audit., great work,, please keep your blogs are interesting, funny and informative as this one was. The two first security guards were just dumb,, 😂 🤔

    • @Pattoe
      @Pattoe Před 2 lety +1

      @@leelockwood7932 All reasonable engagements start off with the same level of respect, meaning the first person to speak sets the tone of respect.
      If a person approaches you and is immediately VERY respectful, it is human nature to parrot that extremely respectful nature back to them, it's literally hardwired into our instincts as a social creature.
      This goes for the opposite too, if someone approaches you and is immediately extremely disrespectful, it is in your human nature to be extremely disrespectful back to them.
      That's why customer service jobs are so difficult, you are in a position where you have to go directly against your hardwired instincts and be respectful to people who show no respect to you.
